But as someone who was privileged to have attended both musicals and operas, I am confident I can call JCS a great musical. The 73 version has a better location (they actually shot the film in Israel), better actors, better singers, and more creative ideas and shots. The 2000 version is just not that good at all, especially when compared to this.

I believe this interpretation of Jesus shows us very much the human side of Jesus and what he had to endure as a human to allow us to forgive our sins. This makes me have that much more respect for what he went through.
