  • i love that willem defoe has got a brilliant quirk in his directing i never expected in this film ...barry pepper is well funny when he talks about the ants eating the mexican face ...

  • just watched this film

    truly amazing, unusual Movie

    greetings from Russia dear Americans!

  • @Oldfrag yeah where did you watch it - and your writing on you tube whilst watching the melquiades estrada film thats well incredible i do that all the time - i did it whilst watching MATYRS which i thoroughly enjoyed -

  • everytime i see this movie it make me tear out !! great movie ..

  • The line between dream and reality is very soft! Don't search for real means when someone tell you his dreams.

  • but i still dont understand at the end ... why did Melquiades send Tommy Lee Jones to a place that is been a ruined and his wife isnt his wife ?

  • @marx369 The woman was his wife, 5 years ago. She could't wait for him and marry another guy. This is part of the drama.

  • why is it that illegal aliens are allways shown to be good, honest, hard working victims of society when we all know that a lot (not all) but a lot of them are drug dealers gang bangers theives and gun runners. where is that movie?

  • @jamesgville there are good and bad people in every country,i also could ask why hollywood always portray you as the good guys when a lot,but a lot of you are drug addicts, racist, greedy, murderers, genocidal

  • @imyourcreeptonight hey now come on - calm down calm down yo angry cunt

  • i found this film easier to enjoy immediately than No Country fOM, of course both are great, but this touches a mainstream audience so much better. eg, i was like ten years old when i saw this, and it blew me the fuck away.

NCfOM was Javier Bardem. thats it. at least the best part of it, "friend-o," haha

  • Racist, shit film.

    Respect the law.

  • Absolutley none of my friends have seen this film, I keep telling them to see it because most of them love No Country For Old Men and this is just as good.

  • Tommy Lee Jones speak more or less the spanish

  • this film was as good as no country for old men, i really loved both of them, both directors of each film have a sort of subtle approach to their film-making. barry pepper is so great in the film, you felt repulsed by him initially but a slight empathy as his character unfolds in the duration of the film. he always brings his characters to life i dont think you will ever find him in a role where he does not dedicate so much integrity to his respective character

  • Dwight Yoakam The Best !!!!!!!!

  • Barry Pepper was Best Supporting Actor Oscar-worthy in this one, far as I'm concerned.

  • tommy lee jones is a man good job

  • This movie reminds me of " red dead redemption " !

  • The scene with the antifreeze..and of course, the T&A is my favorites..A very good movie, all characters are believeable. Barry Pepper is fantastic also..

  • I am probably going to join the Border Patrol. I hope my wife doesnt fuck no immigrant. lol. I am kidding.

  • @johneverready ill fck her

  • @johneverready

Now, the biggest task would be getting a woman to marry you.

  • Coulberson county =]] my home =]] they filmed that movie in van horn tx =]] they show some parts of my grandparents farm property =D n the cemetery n the vh school =D

  • dope film

  • I love how this turned in to a Mexican / Gringo thing.. LOL. If u really think about it, the ones doing all the most damage to the US are not even Mexicans or illegal. 911? Anyone? ...... Good movie by the way..

  • This is a perfect film for a double feature with No Country For Old Men. Those movies are brothers.

  • Wonderful film, but boy what a blooper!

About 12/15 minutes from the end when Tommy Lee & Barry Pepper are "alone" the camera pans round and there's a crew member crouched down, clearly in shot!

    Shame.

  • i saw this one. brilliant movie. i have to see it another time.

  • loved this movie!

  • Tommy Lee Jones does a great job as director and star. Barry Pepper also gives an outstanding performance in it.

  • You're half right about this. But just so you know, "The States" DID fuck many of the Latin American countries after each of them claimed "Independence". "The States" just like now, went to every country where they could get something from and TOOK what they wanted. All this camouflaged in any political, economical or militar way you want. And please correct your statement; we ARE shit with you.

  • I love mexicans :)

  • Yes, this is perfect modern racism. You gotta love it!

  • jajajaja

  • By the way, I love many people that live in the US not necesarily mexicans. The US agreat nation, lovely stoires of freedom and success. So sorry there is people like this ifnorant gringo, muskypucker, I bless the US, though not the ones that think or believe they are better than me just because I am mexican. You will see a great blessed nation rise!!! Movies like this show the reality.

  • @avaloakon some of 'em can't even speak english correctly and they think they're better than the world, LOL

  • Do u wonder why there are no mexican brands of cars? why isnt there pc´s brands? We build everything, we know how to make em, we got the factories in Mexico. There s anything we dont know how to do, there isnt anyhting that make us different for the gringos nor the blacks nor the orientals, etcc...It is the laws. I dont agree with the way you gringos let your government proclaim to be the number one when you are killing, debastating, and stepping on your neighbors dignity.

  • Don´t get me wrong Gringito, I mean get back what the devil stole from us, Our right to invent and develop our ideas. We don´t have that right. If you gringos read real history, not what they make you believe, when the usa invaded MX. you made that president sign a treaty where mexicans would nt have the right to build weapons, cars, high technology. You make us sign that persuade our poorest people to be your lowest level of workers and still punish them for crossing the border.

  • the most underated movie of all time.

  • Comment removed

  • Its sick movie..

  • millions of ignorants cross the border heading north. sometimes they eat sometimes they die. usa shouts form congress chairs, stop comming! but in real world, there is a huge need for cheap labor. most of gringos think are superior to mexicans. a great stupidity. border patrol agents have never been under the circumstances these dreamers face. comming soon, the rise of a nation that is going to get back what the enemy robbed. Viva Mexico! God bless Mexico! Way to go Lee Jones and Arriaga!

  • great movie, yall need to stop getting into the politics so much!

  • and by the way... you are more likely to get work here if you are mexican (yes, illegal or not) than white... there is tons of prejudice here, and the majority is toward white people....

one day, there came some grungy looking white people to eat... the cook would not serve, the waitress would not serve, i happen to be white, so i had to cook and serve for them....

BEFORE YOU MAKE NASTY POSTS... LIVE HERE FOR A WHILE...

I WILL CONTINUE ONE MORE TIME!

  • hello, i LIVE in van horn, texas... uu, that's where the movie was made!

    lies, lies, lies....

first.... this town is 80% mexican...

the sand's motel and restaraunt (where my husband and i have worked for over a year).... has a mexican cook, mexican waitresses...mexican handyman...

there is ALL BUT 2 MEXICAN sheriffs.... mexican judges... mexican workers.... most people here speak mexican.... some DO NOT SPEAK ANY ENGLISH...

(i will have to make another post as i am out of characte

  • hmmm if i would ask a person with hispanic roots, what could be the ipression regarding the specific gringo view of anything south of the big river?

    saludos

  • yo no comprendo.,,

i think you need to learn english a bit more, i cant even understand your comment.

  • lol "speak mexican"

I don't know of anyone who has ever "[spoken] mexican", in either Mexico or Texas.

Hablan espanol o castellano en Mexico.

  • ok, you got me there, but the lingo the mexicans speak is different from "spanish"... and THEY are o so happy to tell you that.

so stick that in your pipe and fuminar.

  • You are an idiot. Why can't I come on a thread like this and at least see college-educated people defending my country.

  • For "lorileeslove" I don't get your comment, You want to demonstrate that the movie is a lie?? ITS BASED IN A NOVEL OF COURSE ITS A LIE!!! Of course you didn't know this. And all of your comments really just proof that, for being an American, your intelligence deserves working as a waitress in a shitty restaurant from Van Horn!

  • Only the best actor to ever have the honor of portraying Woodrow F. Call. It was his dream role and his favorite (perhaps until now). Can't wait to see this film!

  • Great! So you idiots believe all you see another idiot put on film.

  • I liked this movie a lot, just watched it.

  • best movie..we should do that to alot more boarder patrol

  • and we should do a lot more to those who can't spell

  • @rmareo

    Yeah, good luck with that.

  • good movie

  • A modern masterpiece! A work of pure art!

  • @Mntgoatsfan This story is not just a masterpiece. This story happen for real.
