  • thanks nutnfancy my father just bought one of these cause of you

  • i just want to say thank you for your time and effort to do this for people that you dont even know. thanks to this video i am a proud owner of a sig 522 . shot over 4000 rounds with it within the past month. now it wears tac rails and been modded with the integrated laser in the fake gas adjuster, utg tac flashlight and a black dog 50rd drum

more power to you sir. i thoroughly enjoyed your airforce stories vids. and can only wish i can live like you do. to the fullest

    ps. can u do a sig556R

  • im new to guns but i have a sig 522 now - do i have to lube anything on it? like the bolt or whatever? mine keeps jamming up ALOT - so thats what made me wonder if it was soposed to be lubed? if so please explain how and such - thanks

  • i do knife reviews

  • Just bought the gun today after watching the review for the tenth time, haha. I purchased the swat commando version and love the feel. I did notice the mag seems a bit loose (wiggle) is this normal? Thanks again for a great review!

  • Were do you shoot?

  • Man you are genius when it comes to making a video for a product that shows all aspects.

You and your crew are professionals on a low budget .

10 buddies and my self watched this video yesterday and went straight to the small dealer and each purchased this weapon and accessories and each spent a grand.

The dealer asked what made you buy this 522 and we all said we saw your video.

Made his day and gave us all a free box of federal bulk pack ammo.

Just to let you know every 522. Classic comes w

  • Went out and bought one based on your review and my personal experience with Sig handguns. This gun ROCKS! The Black Dog Mags work well, but stay away from Winchester bulk from Walmart, they feed like crapp. The Federal bulk from Walmart work way mo betta! Haven't tried the CCI stuff yet, but the stingers have a great rep around here.

  • Ppl are dumb a bb gun can kill you a 22 can kill you if you get hit in the head........I have a 22 bolt action riffle it was my fav gun when ones 10 when I was 13 I got a 30.6 naw if you have a 30.6 you will ever go back to a 22 I mean 22are good for learning the basics of a gun and how to shoot and take proper care of a gun.....

  • Any opinions of the mossberg 715t compared to this gun?

  • @irish82bikes There is no comparison. Mossberg 715T is a 702 Plinkster inside two half pieces of composite. It comes breaks down into like 10 pieces (maybe more or less). 15-22 comes down to like 5. You can't customize this gun at all without hacking pieces off with a saw (literally).

  • I get about a 2 inch group at 100 yards with cci stingers.

  • SIG name comes from schweizerische industrie gesellschaft, originally sig was from Switzerland, but they had some co-operation with the German Sauer & Sohn.

currently Swiss arms is however owned by German investors!

  • amazing review job well done sir - thank you

  • I should not have watched this when badly fiending for a cigarette. Not your fault though. Good video.

  • Is that a swiss gun?

  • @yoqui12 Sig is a german company

  • .22 are shitty fucking rounds, i hate that crap. such a useless round

  • @sladerfoster Watch your language. This is a PG show.

  • @sladerfoster training, practice, teaching to newcomers, killing small animals, plinking, and pretty much just for the hell of it. Cheap, easy to get, easy to carry, easy to find. You can even shoot it in the basement/indoors if you are careful. Should i continue? Its not a combat or self defense round, its the "shits and giggles" round for people who just love to shoot.

  • @sladerfoster says the troll who knows nothing.

  • @sladerfoster It's a very well-made gun that's tons of fun and cheap to shoot, precisely because it's .22LR. What do you want? Also, if .22LR is so useless, please demonstrate by posting a video of you being shot by it.

  • @sladerfoster more people die or are injured by .22 rounds each year than any other caliber size. but if you think its useless then let someone shoot you with one and we'll see if you change you're mind....

  • Great video on the Sig 522, i am looking to get one very soon, in fact as soon as my income tax return comes in. i have a question about the pistol grip, can it be removed and replaced with a different one perhaps a hogue or some other rubber type of grip? well thanks for you time and keep up the good work and stay safe.

  • Just got mine today and I feel like a kid again,

  • Comment removed

  • great review, truly gave me all i needed to see in one video in stead of treading small videos throughout the web :) much appreciated

  • hey Nutnfancy, the mags are a hassle to load? how big of a deal is that. I just have a marlin bolt action and i don't get tired of shooting i get tired of loading the mags.

  • Im not going to lie, I like when you say "dudes" cracks me up.

  • how much does it cost??????

  • what's the best .22 lr ammo, in your opinion? open to all

  • @southparkkid278 CCI mini mags, they run in basically everything.

  • When the mag is empty, does the bolt lock back?

  • @tenaciousj95 Yes, its not a true bolt lockback like on an AR, where you can drop the mag and the bolt stay back, but it does lock back on the last round of the mag.

  • What do you think is better the SIG 522 or the S&W 15-22. I'm not looking to use it to train, just a fun gun that is reliable and fun to have and shoot. I do some raccon hunting everyone and a while but mostly just plinking with the guys. Great review, you made my choice harder, I was dead set on the 15-22 but the SIG 522 is looking pretty good right now.

  • @rturpening "What do you think is better the SIG 522 or the S&W 15-22."

As far as I'm concerned, this is the hardest choice a person looking to buy a Tactical .22 has to make, right now.

  • Had this gun for almost 2 years now and all i can say is WOW. Bought this gun because of this review and i have enjoyed thousands of rounds down range with it. It doesn't like the Remington bulk ammo but loves the Federal ammo. I just wanted to give an update and thank Nutn for convincing me to go ahead and buy this gun.

  • Nutn/Veri

Just curious if you still have this gun? If so have you put any mods to it, and how is it holding up?

  • Great video, any thoughts on the ISSC MK 22. I'm trying to narrow it down between the two.

  • Oh, I messed up: $439

  • BIG 5 has 'em for just over $539 / Black Friday

  • +1 m&ms in gas adjuster

  • Went to a local gunshop and bought the sig m400. As the guy was ringing me up he pulled this outta the back. Saw the folding stoock and had to buy it also. Honestly one of the best rifles i've ever fired. Shoots beautifuly "never jams' mine came with rails and folding sights all for under $500. Just a great, great rifle.

  • getting one now

  • Were can I get one online?

  • You know you enjoy the channel when you check multiple times to see if your subscribed. NJ nutfnfancy thanks for the great info

  • Well done!

  • Sig and GSG are the same company, or partners, correct? Because the Sig 1911-22 is made by GSG.

  • Could you test the MK22 (scar) ? not enough coverage on those . I read and watch videos on them and hear nothing but good things.

  • @thade87 I'll save you, and him the trouble. I bought one. Holy shit, I fuckin' love it.

  • Search "Sig 522 SBR with Coastal Ultima 22 Suppressor with NutFancy Tribute" on youtube. This Sig 522 SBR & Suppressor is Tactical done even better - and its funny cause its NutFancy inspired!

  • After shooting literally 1000's of guns, i don't understand the appeal of .22 caliber. Definitely a cool looking gun but why pay anything over $150 for a .22. Yeah, cheap ammo but so is 7.62 x 39. I payed $350 for my Saiga 7.62 and put tactical stock, rail system with front grip, nice scop. Still cost less than this .22. Thats just crazy. I don't care if you make it look like an M60 if it shoots .22. Mouse gun.

  • @supraman1953 There's no comparison between the cost of .22LR and any other rifle ammo, not even 5.45 which is the cheapest thing out there in bulk. The .22LR is far cheaper than everything else. This more than offsets the cost of the gun if you shoot much. Not every situation calls for a centerfire rifle although I wouldn't use any rimfire ammo for defensive purposes because of the inherent unreliability of rimfire ammo among other things. If you have a Sig 556 the similarity is another +.

  • @supraman1953 "I payed $350 for my Saiga 7.62 and put tactical stock, rail system with front grip, nice scop. Still cost less than this .22. "

If the tactical stock is a pistol grip the 922(r) compliance cost alone would be over $100. Add another $100 for the scope. Just to convert the Saiga back to it's original intended no ban form (if you care about that) the parts cost is around $300 and that assumes you refinish it yourself. I've done several of them.

  • @steve001968 Surprisingly the tactical stock counts as a 922r compliance part. American made mags count as 3 for some reason. I payed $10 for an American made gas piston. Just made sure all my upgrades were American made. All in all i have around $480 in the gun. More than my originally stated $300 i know, but still not to bad. I don't get the 922r. Doesn't change a thing(other than the origin of the parts) & doesn't apply to AR types. And yes, i do my own work also.

  • @supraman1953 OK, if you are using US mags that would put you over the top without doing any fire control parts, although including the cost for the mags I would think it would actually make the cost higher. I have so many foreign mil spec mags I never wanted to be locked into using US ones so I sometimes forget that option. I'm assuming at $480 total you didn't de-ban the front end? If you did where did you get the gas chamber and sight base to keep the cost that low?

  • @steve001968 You're 100% correct, U.S. mags are way more expensive. Around $25-$35 each for 30 rd. And alot of them are unreliable. It was just an easy way to gain 922r compliance parts. I can still use real AK mags. As far as the front, i didn't replace the gas tube, just the piston. I removed the stock saiga handguard & replaced it with a Tapco handguard. Very nice. Has cooling vents and 3 picatinny rails(both sides & bottom). Only cost about $45. Drastically changed the look & in a good way.

  • nutnfacy i reall like what your doing here and just feeding everyones love for guns. every since i joined the army i have grown a deep interest in firearms i have had the privilage to work with some great firearms not only mt m4 but some FN fire arms like the SCAR deployed with my ranger group of sort of a "trial" i want my m4 back...still a great weapon not a fan of the pistols they put out

  • california is stupid, just got this gun today and can only use 10 round mags, what a joke.

  • @riceboi1983 come to texas

  • @bigredmatt13 ok i'll be right over

  • @riceboi1983

i live in CA too. there are ways to circumnavigate CAs unconstitutional laws. become a member of calguns.com. there are members that sell dissassembled REGULAR capacity magazine parts kits for many different firearms. its up to you whether or not you assemble the parts to a functional mag but u can legally purchase them as a kit to "replace" part or all of a broken "hicap" mag. check it out and get as many people you can to join the NRA to combat CAs liberal politicians.

  • @tahquitzmarksman yeah I know, i got ways to get them if I wanted but I just don't want to get into trouble if I go to a range and they report me or something.

  • What red dot were you using? sorry if I missed it ;)

  • How accurate is it?

    like the ruger 10/22, better?

  • I am sold too. In the past I have owned a couple GSG-5's, Walther G22, and Colt M4 .22, and they were all very picky on ammo. The only ammo I could fire through them was CCI's, good to hear that there is a fun .22 that you can feed anything through.

  • what company makes the AR.15?

  • @seatsniffer100 What company makes the ArmaLite Rifle 15? I don't know, maybe ArmaLite?

  • @karinosai hahahaha

  • "you can put your m&m's in there if you want" Awesome, this is why I love watching your videos.

  • Comment removed

  • @nutnfancy nice Indians cap in the beginning, i'm liking it

  • I like the Sig just because it's "different".

  • Great review as always. Definitely gonna have to pick one of these up in the near

    future!

  • are you able to buy this in canada? amazing review

  • Woud you do a run and gun review on remington 887 nitro mag tac..Love your work keep it up...Ibought 1911, Ak47, and vest because of your review..Every body not a know it all!!" keep going" dude

  • If it is the same receiver as the 550, i think the trigger is very inconsistent. I'm not against hard trigger (it has a 4,4 pounds trigger), but sometimes (when you already hold the trigger to the "firing button" that activates the hammer), the round goes boom, and sometimes you push you push yu push, the round doesn't tke off as soon as you want it to be....

    This trigger sucks

  • wait so it doesnt come with any iron sights

  • Quite possibly the gayest gun of all time.

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 lol california man is mad bc the rest of us can use 10+ rnd mags.

  • @IrishYottaMaster Lol, alright you got me on that.

Still, though, I wouldn't spend $600.00 on a 'tactical .22' even if I could buy 90 rnd mags. Would you?

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 - No I wouldn't that's why I got mine for 365.00 shipped. But then again how would you know gayest guns since the queers in California made everything illegal so they can take your rights away and allow gang bangers to take what you have an murder you in your overpriced home.

  • @545BY39 Speak when you're spoken to.

  • @545BY39 "But then again how would you know gayest guns since the queers in California made everything illegal so they can take your rights away and allow gang bangers to take what you have an murder you in your overpriced home."

I wouldn't get too cocky. The rest of the country is not that far behind CA. Give O'blunder 4 more years......

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 No but you can get it for a lot less than 600. Like 200 less. Where these guns are really worth the money is when you have it's big brother and want something that is more or less ergonomically the same to practice a lot with without running through $100 worth of ammo in an hour. And, I don't know of any 90 round mags for it but black dog machine makes a 50 round drum that is supposed to be good quality.

  • @steve001968 That is a very valid point, although I can't help but think that people are grasping at straws, desperately trying to prove that they didn't buy this gun (or other similar .22 abominations) just for the looks.

The '90 round magazine' part was just me ranting. FFS folks, I paid $150 for a Marlin 795 that is utterly flawless. I paid just under $200 for a Ruger 10/22 that is just as good.

I just want people to be honest.

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 "that is a very valid point, although I can't help but think that people are grasping at straws, desperately trying to prove that they didn't buy this gun (or other similar .22 abominations) just for the looks."

"I paid just under $200 for a Ruger 10/22 that is just as good."

Sure, some people definitely buy it for the looks and the 10/22 really is the gold standard at virtually any price for .22 semi auto rifles, provided you use OEM or other quality mags.

  • @steve001968 Peronally, I find the Marlin to be superior in everything but magazine capacity.

"Sure, some people definitely buy it for the looks"

I would venture to guess that the overwhelming majority buy it for the looks. You yourself conceded that the 10/22 was the 'gold standard'. Why not just buy a couple of 10/22's instead of this? Or buy one 10/22 and 5,500 rounds of ammo to practice with.

I'm sorry, but I still find these 'tactical .22's' to be ridiculous.

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 Got 2 Marlins. I don't think they are better than my 10/22 though. I think at least as many people who buy it just for appearance buy it for the similar ergonomics to it's big brothers. I don't have a 522, although I've shot one, but I do have a dedicated .22 AR upper and that's why I bought it. Including the cost of the upper total ammo savings to date at least $500. There's also the noise and neighbors factor for some. @ 500 yards .22 = much quieter = happier neighbors.

  • @steve001968 Neighbors? I don't have any of those : )

I understand your point, and I still think these tactical .22's are quite retarded. To each his own, brother. I support your right to own one of these silly things if you see fit.

As for me, I'll stick with the tried and true REAL .22's, Marlins and Rugers are just as cheap to shoot as any plastic 'tactical' variety.

    .22LR, 12 gauge, 7.62 x 54r are my cheap plinking calibers.

Inexpensive firearms + Inexpensive ammo = Happy Shooter!

  • And P.S.

A .22 AR upper is absolutely badass.

  • @CaliforniaCarpenter7 Why? Other than the lack of iron sights, which is ridiculous even on this. It's moronic on the 556's they sold that way.

  • Long time viewer, and after watching this video for the fifth time I decided it was time to own a Sig 522. I was lucky enough to get a limited edition OD green model and I couldn't be any happier with it. It lived up to every point Nutn made in this video. Thank you Nutn, I wouldn't have bought this rifle without your outstanding review!

  • God who needs a freaking 40+ minute video. Seriously

  • @lastjake14gmail a person that does his job extremely well, and really wants how to show how the weapon works.

  • ANY .22 RIFLE WILL LET YOU CARRY .22 PISTOLS WITH YOU AND PUT AMMO IN EITHER.

  • hey can you do a review on the new ISSC MK22??

  • I just got my Sig 522 last night from Big 5 here in San Diego. It came with a different case (black and much larger) and it has iron sights as well, they jsut weren't installed yet. I can't wait to shoot it! :D

  • @sdguero28 Which Big 5 Did you go to? I'm thinking about getting myself one of these.

  • @jndriggs Picked it up at the Big 5 in Pt Loma. It was the only one they had in stock. Put 1050 rounds through it yesterday... Had a couple FTFs due to cheap ammo but it shot good. Pretty accurate out to 100 yards, and super fun. The GF especially liked collapsing the stock. Now I want a 556. :)

  • @sdguero28 Dang! I guess I'll have to look around. Thanks for the info and quick response!

  • is that guy runnin and gunnin with a cigg in his mouth?lmao!nut tell your freind he needs an electronic cigg they work great.

  • Is this the one with the 5x scope included ?

  • Cigs while shooting make people look like they are trying too hard to be cool. Cool vid!

  • exellent :)

  • Your CTR stock wiggled? did you press in the friction lock? The ones I used had no wiggling at all

  • Can you fire it with the stock folded?

  • its a .22 you don't need earmuffs i shoot my .243 with out any and i can still hear fine.

  • @MW2ONXBOX360 You may hear fine now, but you wont in a few years.

  • i have about $130.... what is the best gun i can get for my money?

  • Just got one on sale at Big-5 for $479. Can't wait to shoot it! :)

  • I purchased a Sig 522 Classic back in April 2011,awesome 22 and get a lot of comments on it. My son also got one the same day and he really likes it.

  • Good job, nice video, wonder why dont you dig the sigma, good caliber and value

  • You do the best reviews. YOu cover everything. Good job man.

  • I would love to see a test of the 22 tactical rifles in one vid, just to see how they stand up to each other.

  • 556 review by Nutnfancy. Thats what we want.

  • hey nutnfancy, first off im a big fan. i have a sig p522 and love it but i like taking it camping and its... well good but i stumbled on the henry U.S. survival ar 7. and if you could do a review of it at some point that would be awesome. thanks.

  • Does anybody have problems with the barrel on the 522 coming loose every couple hundred rounds? every time i tighten it a little more but it still comes loose. Im really close to putting some teflon tape on the nut.

  • smoking is bad...but guns are good....I'm conflicted!

  • issc .22lr!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey Nutnfancy, could you do a review on the ISSC MK22 MR

  • First, I want to start off by saying that I respect you for your many helpful videos. Your videos have helped me alot. I pretty much just made a YouTube account to comment and subscribe to you. Also I would like to thank you for being in the service weather you are still in the service I don't know. But keep up the helpful videos:).

  • cigaretts stick it u ass

  • Mine works just fine, the problems. . .

    1 Mag

    Trigger feels weird

    No iron sights

  • @JDxBiUE

Feels almost like a two stage trigger.

I second the one mag vote, had to buy an extra one over the weekend. BUT you can get the 80 round drum magazine for not much money which is kinda cool!

And yeah, these things really need to come with sights!

  • yeah, i want this.

  • You sir just sold me on a SIG 522. I will pick mine up in 10 days.

  • So did Sig fix that pin issue?

  • ruger 10/22 all the way!!!!!!

  • @blaziankhmer all the way back to the LGS to trade in on a SIG 522.... 10//22 are fun, but the 522 SIG is a special auto-loading .22LR. Shoots anything I feed it. Plus, the 10/22 is everywhere..

  • @evilet1111 well so far i've feed my 10/22 all kinds of stuff and it hasn't jammed. i keep it very clean and the adjustable ti25 mags are awesome. but im pretty sure the SIG 522 is in a whole other class, but isn't kind of expensive? because if it is around 500, i can't imagine myself buying a 22lr rifle for that much. hell im regretting my purchase i did 2 days ago, bought a stag arms model 1. dreamed of having one, with a few add-ons for it and ammo set me back 1100

  • @blaziankhmer that's awesome - glad to hear. The 10/22 is a great rifle. I simply prefer the SIG. The 522 is "expensive" at around $400-500 street price. Most of the .22LR (rifles and pistols) that I have purchased are in that range. So I personally feel that its pricing is "normal".

Firearms can be an addicting hobby. I've spent a healthy amount in the last year as well. Don't forget to buy a nice safe.. have fun.

  • @evilet1111 im addicted to firearms, but if i want to keep on going, i need to be on a budget. i can't afford the best but i will settle for something decent and reliable. i don't mind buying used firearms if it is in great condition. saw a taurus G2 for under 400 on Buds reviews are pretty good so i might get it as an Xmas gift for myself.

i don't have a safe, i don't have kids so i was thinking of a sentry steal cabinet for 90 bucks at wally world. happy shooting be safe.

  • @blaziankhmer skip the cabinet at wally world and throw them in a cardboard box. Same affect. Or, save up and get a real safe. Lots of reasons to have a safe other than kids... Thieves, fire, proper storage of firearms to name a few.

The Ruger is fine. Budget 'anything' is fine. The reason I commented originally is because you demanded "10/22 all the way". Merely trying to show you the light or if nothing else, other options. You must like the SIG or you wouldn't be here. :) Peace. 10-4

  • @evilet1111 oh of course the sig is great, out of my price but thats why i said 10/22 all the way. since it was cheaper and i love it. haven't gave me any problems. besides i love watch NF's reviews.

  • lol @ cigarette

  • People under rate the .22 its a great defence round because of its low recoil and decent amount of power witch both complement the accuracy.

  • it looks as if that thing has no kick at all

  • @thegoods34 It doesn't; it's a .22.

  • Is this better than the Ruger SR-22, also, would you recommend anything other than the SR-22 that has better accuracy.

  • @ThePhan7em S&W M&P .22

  • does this blow away the ruger 10/22??

  • does this blow away the ruger 10/22??

  • NUTNFANCY, has to be the best reviewer online

  • Hey NUTNFANCY, I always enjoy your videos. We have a 522, and agree on almost all the points you made. Ours also cycles perfectly more bullet types than any other semi-auto .22 LR we have (and we have quite a few: 10/22, 15-22. …); but the lack of Bolt Hold Open On Last round makes me strongly disagree with "Tactical .22 Done right". The bolt slamming into the follower is not at all the same as a working bolt catch that is activated by the follower.

  • What's the effective range of this in .22lr?

  • @aponorth About 150 yards but can kill past that.

  • i bought the 522 a couple weeks ago and i love it. i paid 550 for it but it came with a extra 20" bull barrel and hard case.

  • Awesome well informative review. I picked up this beauty today and just wanted to find a video explaining the field stripping of this rifle. When I found you did a review on this I was very happy. I cant wait to go out and fire this thing. Again, thanks for an awesome review. You won me as a sub with this great video.

  • went to a gunshow and saw this. 400 bucks brand new, and i remembered this review. picked ot up in an instant. thanks for the wisdom!

  • nutnfancy i'm so glad you reviewed this. couldn't find a good review and when your video was the first result on a google search i was so happy

  • This review got me crazy excited! I just bought my Sig 522 Classic in California. This will be my first rifle so I can learn the basics for an AR15 like rifle. My wife is going to get me the Samson 522 Star (Quad Rail) so I'm going to load this up with lasers, lights, foregrips, bayonettes, sporks, sharp sticks, etc. For any California shooters, Sig will sell the Sig 522 SWAT in California, BUT the stock will be glued, so it WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE to fold the stock on the SWAT version only.

  • @jujubeed i just ordered the samson star. let me know how you like it!

  • CAN U DO ON ON THE NEW PRISMATIC?

  • Great video, awesome review and wonderful gun!. I might get one of those, but down here in Argentina it costs up to 1290 dollars...

  • @IronicoAlmeiden About the same here in Chile ... 1100 US dollards + taxes.

  • will that upper fit on a sig p556 lower? just wondering if it would eventually become a 22lr conversion of the sig pistol

  • I bought the S&W AR15/22 to support my fellow American workers, not to support Germans.Listen,we make very little here and when there is a product out there made in the USA,I'm going to support.I think it is a patriotic duty to do so.S&W had one problem which was easily fixed.Either by taking 5 minutes out of your time to bend the extractor,or send it to S&W and they will fix it.I'm so sick of people not thinking about where something is made. It's one reason why America is in the shape it's in !

  • Warning to left-handed shooters: this gun blows crap right in your eye! That is if you shoot w/ both eyes open. I had to close my right eye because it was burning so bad! I liked the gun otherwise though.

  • Whats the law on it having a folding stock?

  • 25oF is about -4oC for all you Canadians. Thats T-shirt weather! :b

  • I would like to see a review of the ISSC Austria SCAR clone 22lr. Not sure if you can get your hands on one, but if you could, I'm sure people would like to hear your opinions on it.

  • I won one of these in a raffle... What a deal! This gun is awesome! Even though I paid $0 for it, after shooting it I'd definitely pay full price for one!

  • Does the last shot bolt hold open not work with the cheaper ammo? Seems like in sections showing the run and guns that the bolt hold open was not working. Anyway, Great vid, Excellent review as always...now I want a 522.....
