Alex is so right on this. All too many TV documentaries have been shown blaming "the white man" and JudeoChristianity for all the world's problems. We don't realize, tons of other countries still have slavery.

yeh im reading a book right now called 'the rise corruption and coming fall of the house of saud' by said arburish..and i was totally gobsmacked to discover last week reading it that slavery was outlawed (well officially - it still blatanlty carries on there) only in 1962 -and even then, only at the insistence of JFK. its so weird that there are these parallel realities that happen but you'll never hear them mentioned in popular culture.
