Hm I'm confused. There's so many moments in this season, both vegas week and during the top 20 competition, that the judges and Russell himself say he's totally untrained. But in this audition, Mary ask him; "Are you trained in other styles?" Russell says yes and then goes on how he's trained in ballet, modern, tap, jazz, african.

So can someone tell me what's going on?

@permeability6 I think he went to a performing arts-type college, so he learned the basics of the dance spectrum. I mean, he isn't "trained" in those other areas the way contemporary dancers are, but he definitely had a knowledge and background of the basic types of dance.
