It was a nice video and music . It made me remind of someone who used to be my friend. He said, he lives in Bendigo and on that day he drove home to help his grandma who lived alone in his house..He was shock from the firestorm because it's also close to his house..Fortunately, he and his family were safe but a lot of his neighbors became a homeless. I hope it will never happened again...God Bless you..
WellSightedGentleman......it was mentioned on the news the other day, a 14 year old male and a 15 year old male has been charged with starting a fire up near Bendigo, and they shown the face of a matured aged fella, he died in the fire
( feel so sorry for him).
My point, some kids are far from innocent, if those 2 did light that fire, a bullet to the head would be the best for all.
Continued: There fun little game, claimed the life of a man, and heaps of houses. people were left homeless. My grade 4 teacher lost her house and her dog in the fire.
While I was at my switchboard cutting the power to the house, the car across the road exploded. My doctor actually said several months later that I was VERY lucky that I was facing the switchboard at the time, because such a hit could have hurt him
@ChemtrailsRbad4U ....yes l have seen it on the news 4-6 weeks ago, those dirty little criminals have claimed they are disabled.
Those criminals get away with murder, legal aid and cops don't give hoot!
If that was mother and a child killed, they would be thrown in a detention center faster than you could say it, but a grown man (the victim) that has done much more for this country, no one cares!
No one knocked on the door and told my mum to evacuate, she didn't know til I rang her telling her that that there was a massive fire heading straight for her house. When I asked a police officer directing traffic where we should evacuate to, I was told to go away from the fire, well no da! People won't always remember there lights or to use there hazards (hazards imply that you are stationary btw) Most of these people were scared, and had scared children and pets in their car.
I would not say these people are dumb, they were panicing and they were scared! People attempting to get to family, and loved ones. We had NEVER experienced anything like this in Bendigo before so we didn't know how to deal with it, nor did our emergency services personnel. I was 6 months pregnant when these fires almost destroyed myself and all of my possesions. It didn't just only almost claim my possesion but nearly claimed my mum and my childs fathers lives!
Dear God I hope it doesn't happen again this year. Too close for comfort on Booth st. And it took us almost an hour to get out to my sister in Eaglehawk. We will be overseas this yr, so I'm stressing out a little!
Nup, not saying people evacuating were dumb WSG. But driving without all lights on in thick smoke is seriously dumb. I'm getting a flashing amber warning light I can plonk on the roof of my ute for this fire season and that's despite the fact I have no intention to be spending much time on the road with lots of smoke about. And roger, to your tip on to stay with the house. We're moving as fast as we can to make that a safe option. PS: Good luck to you and your family for this fire season.
Thanks for this video. My elderly father lives up in the north east of vic and we are busy preparing for this summer. All these videos help. We have had 4 biggish fires nearby in the last 10 years. Couldn't help but notice people driving around in thick smoke, no lights on, no emergency blinkers on. Dumb, dumb, dumb.
Thanks for this report. See NASA web site. They admit that manmade aerosols in the atmosphere cause artificial cloud formations changing the weather making drought & flooding around the world.
This is a very good video. I work for "our Place' the fire recovery assistance centre in Eaglehawk, and I would really like to show this to my co-workers there so they get a really good idea of what some of the people we are helping went through.
No problem, thanks for asking, this video has embedding features enabled, if you use the embedding address link above you can paste it into a webpage.
this was seriously one of the scariest things I have encounted in my life. This fire has left part of my street homeless, and us with a burnt lawn. When I left the fire was across the street and set a fuel tank off. the heat just burnt through my cotton top. I had no idea the smoke was so thick though, if that makes sense. Now when I look at it I think "I was breathing that in? :-O"
This is a good insight as we only arrived home after the worst had passed and we live on the road you were travelling along. Thankfully for us the wind changed direction and our house was spared but we are so devastated for people who weren't as fortunate. Never thought we would have to worry about bushfires living this close to town!
only in australia would we have states flooding and rainy, and in others the worst bushfire on record.
im from near melbourne airport and i stood outside my class room TODAY at about 10 and the smoke was so strong it burned your the inside of your nose, and thats a fair way away from the actual fires.
I grew up in Eaglehawk and like everyone else, was sickened by these fires. I now live in Qld. & have just viewed your video, although it is horrifying, thankyou for sharing, as my prayers were for everyone who had to endure this disaster. Eaglehawk & Bendigo are still "home" to me and I am so saddened by this.
you're welcome..WellSightedGentleman..you said it came within 500m of your house...How was your house and your family? Hope, they would be fine..
