Once i supercharged it it was way faster than that but i never ran it down the track so i cant claim numbers on that... And besides that your missing my point.. I own an SVT Focus, I agree 100% its not what these cars are made for, but there are ones out there modded for straight line racing. But to say no one has ever hit 12s in an SVT if a flat out lie, when there are 600hp SVT focus running around...

its because the rods in the 2.5 are powder forged and they warp which causes them to spin bearings.. the 3.0 didnt have that problem and everything between the two is interchangable.. this by far is the best handling four door car (stock) that i have ever been in.. my last one ran 12's n/a.... so sit on that.. im on my 5th one now and still have 3.. i even still have the first one i rolled #2860 1999 csvt.. in the yard under a tarp..and as for the ass sayin a thousand dollar car...

Probe wasnt even gettin on it. I have a Mystique V6 i know how heavy and slow those cars are (yes i know the CSVT has more power) compared to a Probe GT. Ive owned 4 Probe GT's and still have one and they would walk on a CSVT any day, my one friend has a 93 Mazda MX6 LS (same drivetrain and chassis as Probe) and he walked on a couple CSVT's.
@FPGT24 The guys name is Brian and we have raced at least 3 or 4 times now with the same result, and a unmodded mystigue is not close to a svt, stock vs stock is a 30 horsepower different.
@NightHawk1824 As I said, I know a Contour SVT is much faster than a Contour/Mystique V6 auto. All I can say is something must be majorly wrong with the Probe GT if you have raced him multiple times and always beat him. Contours are heavy, and the Duratec (while being a good engine) just never had the oomph that the Mazda KL V6 had. Try racing a PGT in great running condition and i guarentee it that you will lose. Either way, I love CSVTs and PGTs, both great cars.
My younger brother had a 93' Probe GT (5M) and I had a 98 SVT Contour (5M) they were both stock and we used to race each other all the time >street & track. There is no question that my svt was faster than his probe. We used to switch cars with the same result. The only time he passed me was when I missed 3rd gear but I cought back up and went by him. At the track my svt was consistantly a half a second qucker than his probe down the 1/4. That's a pretty big difference at 93 mph.
@Thilges1990 not the first time i have raced him, He goes on alot of car cruises with us...so unless he has amazing skills at losing to me the same every-time he was wide open

thats bone stock for both cars, i ran a 14.4 @ 96 last year at gateway raceway, He has never ran before though
