  • How satisfied are you with your Epiarch? I have been thinking of getting one made for the past year. I've just been unsure about ordering something and waiting until I get it before I actually get to play it. I was thinking of going with OCDP since they're more established but they recently raised their prices and I've come to resent how they're mass producing stuff from Taiwan now.

Nice grooves in your video. Those shuffles and ghost notes were sweet.

  • Can I ask what heads you use ? And to add to the mix here - I too admired your ghosting ability right off the bat ! I've clicked around on several Epi videos to get an idea of the sound - all thrash, no style. Then I found yours - nice kid ! "Speed" isn't everything IMHO ! Skins please ? Thank you !

    (in advance).

  • Thanks alot man!! I have coated g2s on toms, emad on bass, power center on snare.

  • Another PDF member, GTHO_PhaseIII here.

You've got great control with your left hand - those ghost notes are superb. The only form of constructive criticism I have to add is that you need to smooth out the transitions between fills and grooves.

Other than that mate, you're quite the drummer!

  • hey man!! thanks alot I really appreciate. and fills have probably been the hardest thing for drumming. like coming up with creative fills, unlike in this vid. lol

  • Nice nice man, love the groove, speed, and how to keep it clean.

  • I love the groove. Awesome.

  • Thanks man!!

  • yeh I've already got my tube lugs, my shell dyed with the turquoise dye...I went with 14x7 cause 8 inches seem pretty deep for a snare to me...how did you drill for your hardware cause I'm lucky enough to have a cousin who owns a custom drum shop and he's gonna drill everything for me cause for my toms and kick I'm doing offsets and I just don't wanna screw anything up since it is an expensive hobby

  • sweet man! Crap I actually don't remember how the drilling was done. lol sorry!

  • that's cool man...im pumped for mine to be done...I'll post video for ya when it's finished

  • how deeps your snare man...and I too am building my own with parts from drummaker

  • It's 14x8.

Do it man. It's fun and rewarding.

  • Man that groove at the beginning was so freaking sweet, killer technique.

Btw it's LDR from the saluda forums ;D

  • Thanks man!!

    Sweet! Some saludians!

  • you have your ghost notes down dude, nice.

try not to use your leg so much on the bass drum though, i can see it moving forward, it sucks buying a new pedal

  • thanks man.

hah I'll keep that in mind. but I wouldn't if these pos pedals broke. haha. actaully yeah I would. haha.

  • what pedals do you have

  • they're DW 7000s. =(

Eventually I will get 9000s or an eliminators.

  • kidding me? thats what im using, i don't have a problem with those! how long have you had them for?

  • I've had them for like 3.5 years. They feel real heavy and stiff.

  • shit.

yeah, i'd adjust them, and get new lubricant applied if you can't afford a new one soon.

  • Yeah I just re-adjusted them and I lube them every once in a while.

  • i use 9000's. they are a pain in the ass to adjust to exactly what you want..it took me like a year haha. They are incredibly light and i like lose them under my feet. if thats what you want, they are incredible though

  • let your cymbals breathe mate.

  • yeah I know.. They're all alot more free to move aorund.

  • what finish is that, looks like a navy blue satin stain?

  • it's called deep indigo blue satin stain. or something like that.

  • great left hand technique man, i'm impressed

keep up the good work- i'd love to see some covers!

  • thanks alot man!! Yeah i am working on a few songs right now. I just don't know how to get the music playing over my video.

  • You can do that easily with Windows Movie Maker, for example! If you need help, contact me.

  • ohh ok. I will try to fool around with tat sometime. I'll contact you if I can't do it.

    thanks

  • wat is the crash next to your ride

  • saluda 20'' earthworks med crash.

  • thanks

  • want to buy it?

  • i pm you at the pdf

  • Hey man, that's some really tight playing there!

And I'm another one of these PDF'ers checking out your stuff (mattwalker_21).

  • is your snare an epiarch also?

  • no. It's one a "built". I got the parts from drummaker.

  • Another PDF'er, just checking out sound samples of Saludas =P

I think I might just have to get myself one...was actually looking at the Glory 19" Crash/Ride

  • yeah d00d. definately. Just email Jamie how you want it to sound and you will be satisfied!

  • yay PDF!

  • are you from PDF??

  • Yay PDFers!! Thanks guys.

  • No worries, i mean if you have the word "grooving" and "epiarch" in your video title, its gonna attract pdf'ers.

  • haha.sweet.

  • what is pdf/pdfers?

  • pearldrummersforum

  • Nice lookin setup you get there and you have some great single strokes.

This is yeeboy000 from the pdf.

  • I'm digging the ghosts on the snare man, like the first guy said I wish I had your left hand! Oh and I'm xkendizzlex from the PDF.

  • hey man its matts_disturbed from the PDF

    killer grooves dude

i wish i had your left hand!

  • thanks man!! I wish my left hand was up to par with my right hand though. but yeah I could give credit to drumline (snare) for my chops.

  • wow bud, fix that rack tom. Do you see it wobbling?

I like the ghost notes, great volume and control, which seems to be hard for a lot of people. Pretty cool bass drum work in context of the ghost notes too man.

  • Yeah it wobbles. But I think it's just the rims mount. It's solid though. Thanks for the compliments!
