Woot. It's the kinda job that makes you want to call out for your momma at times, but man what a great feeling when you've finished a days work and are still alive!
@7514328 the video seems to be shot in australia. sorry but you seem to b every naive. u can't put ALL the lines underground. people wud only complain bout soil, ecosystem, and tree root damage for starters. above ground is the safest way to maintain the lines for the guys involved with them, sure u wud b the first person to complain when your power went out because us tree surgeons didnt cut the trees!! you are extremely naive.
you can't relocate the power grid? what are you talking about? I have worked in overhead powelines for a major utility for over four years and that does not happen ever.
look at the terrain. What you suggest is totally unfeasable and there is oviously a reason why they are not already underground. That project would run into the millions because those are sub transmision lines the voltages are very high maybe around 66kv or more. Trust me there is a good reason why they are not underground already.
@127quinn: Nothing is "totally unfeasable". Much of what we use (sewage, gas, electric, water, cable) is ALREADY underground. Running these high voltage lines underground would create more jobs for an already collapsed U.S economy. Spendy, yes. I know of three engineers (out of work) who disagree with you.
I take off my hat to you and wil say you have s set of balls, I did line work and now do trees on side. It is fun with only 1 not both of them.. But you did a great job and made it look easy, so keep cutting safe freind hope to see more vids ..
Hey Thanks ... jtraske .. mate working near well only 6 metres from 330,000 volts powerlines is a rush in itself haha well take care in this game mate you only get one chance most of the time ..cya
Ya, just put them underground, five minute job. Nice job and high voltage are above ground for many reasons.

@127quinn: Whats the matter with running those lines underground? Plus, many drivers would miss those power poles.

You mean, the U.S does not have over-head power lines? Tell you what. I"m gonna' pretend you didn't make a comment. Go back to sleep.
