I found a glitch in the game. It was around the part where you get the key from the mystery guy. I accidentally sent the key back and then it said "There's No Escape". It was so dumb. I prefer White Chamber over this one.
Now my memory might be a little off, but I could have sworn there was a way to call your captor BEFORE you send the paper, and he tells you he wants X amount of money. It's just a vague little thing I remember.
the way you find out the phone number: Click on the paper, click on the pen until "help me" is spelled. Then, pick up any phone and look at the numbers. They all correspond to letters. For example, 2 has the letters abc below it. The h in help me would be a 4, the e would be a three, and so forth. As for the star being space, that is what the skull shows you after you put the paper in the tube.
If you look on a real phone. there should be letters underneath the numbers. You spell out help me. the space is a * symbol. For example: H is the # 4, E is number 3, l is number 5 and so on, so forth =)
well i think after finishing the crimson room and the viridian room, all the rest is technically really easy, cause u got the mechanisim of the game, other wise,, trust me homie,,, its hard! specially for a cluless guy...
