Well, it can be. You could simply create a random sequence of rock, paper, scissors and play that against your opponent the entire time. Then what advantage does your opponent have over you? None.

@sjsawyer A random strategy (were humans actually capable of such a thing) would also give you no advantage over your opponent. Your mathematical expectation is zero. By using power of suggestion, trash-taliking and just plain old intimidation, you can definitely increase your odds.

I played this as a kid in the late 50's while growing up in Hawaii. We called it "Jun-ken-po" instead of 1,2,3. Probably a Hawaiian word for 1,2,3.
