  • What movie is this in?

  • @robertplantisgod1234 Moulin Rouge, one of the (if not the best) love story movies of all time.

  • I actually like Bowie's version better as well. I think he conveys the depth of it better, because it's not just about a lovesick boy, but the beauty of love as well. That's just me, though.

  • I like kerli's version better:) (moonchild all the way*)

  • David Bowie does the best version of all when it comes to this song!

  • Love this song, and this version. Thanks so much for putting it up!

  • I prefer this version

  • The best rendition is Frank Sinatra's in my opinion - talk about phrasing....he's the master of all singers !!!!!!!!

  • Hey for everyone looking for the cinematic version search "Nature boy original song from moulin rouge (There was a boy)". There is a video with that exact title that is the cinematic version with Ewan singing.

  • Why? Why is it David Bowie instead of cinematic?!? Grrrrr

  • I think this version is much better, but the cinematic version reminds me more of the movie that I love so I can't really decide which one I like more

  • I want the CINEMATIC version!

  • OMG BOWIE GO AWAY I WANT MCGREGOR IS VOICE IS PURE GOLD

  • I adore Bowie's version - simply by his tone and melody, he's managed to turn a Romantic song into something much more somber, more akin to a love gone sour

  • Bobby Darin - that's where it's at.

  • Nat King Cole should be singing this.

  • Pink, Bowie, Gregor? ! who else is this awesomely epic movie!!!

  • I saw this movie for the first time yesterday and thought the entrance song into the movie was phenomenal. I hate this version of it because the voice is all raspy and just plain wrong. Tragically terrible compared to John Leguizamo singing it. Fabulous movie, though! :)

  • This the best version ever, with the amazing voice of David Bowie!

  • I want the version IN the movie. this one is ggreat, but I prefer the one sung by Tolouse Lautrec (the one who played him)

  • original idea.

    bENEdito

  • thats not the original song, hm its sad - eigentlich schon schade, der kleine zwerg war voll cool

  • It is great music. I like it very much!

  • David Bowie is a god *.*

I never seen the movie, but I want, and I love the soundtrack!

  • Ich liebe diesen Film.....

  • The mystery of this song is that it subtilty implys that it easier to love than to be loved. I've wondered about that for years. That "gypsey Boots" character was certantly a strange one.

  • this is one of the most amazing movies of all time, and this song is an incredible song as well. Bowie is amazing, but its better in the movie...

  • Yes, best version was sang by Nat King Cole!

  • Thankyou,

    Very nice song and Film

  • I want the CINEMATIC version!

    NOT the David Bowie one.

    Damn creative licensing.

  • me 2!!! ive been searching everywhere for it caus its not the same thing exactly the way its sung

  • Do you like Celin Dion's version?

  • I've never heard it. I shall do so but I still say:

    Damn creative licensing.

  • @mysticwolf2314 you can hardly find that version ... I don't understand why they didn't put the cinematic version on the soundtrack ... I don't really like this version ... if you've listened to the cinematic version this one really sucks ..

  • @Missix1992

I'm not a fan of David Bowie to begin with. > >

I don't understand why they didn't put any of the cinematic versions on the soundtrack, really. That's the point of the soundtrack is to get the music from the movie. Not covers that pale in comparison to the original.

  • @mysticwolf2314 STFU YOU FAG

  • @mysticwolf2314 This is so much better than the cinematic version. Bowie's version just give me chills and a sense of awe. Bowie performs a song not just sing a song

  • Just perfect!

  • the song Performed by John Leguizamo

i mean in the movie !!!!!

    according to IMDb

  • This one was in the movie, just the lyrics, mostly.

I love this song, David's Bowie's voice always gives me that nostalgic feeling, and the lyrics/music never fails to make me feel something!

  • nevermind no its not sorry

  • This is the one from the movie......

  • I don't really like this version. It's too screamy, especially the way he roars out the "Return" at the end. The one sung in the movie was much more expressive.

  • The tempo is different too. I hate that.

  • the greatest thing you'll ever learn is to love and be loved in return... so touching!!! i love moulin rouge! this song is soo touching and cry-making almost as bad as the titanic 1!!! + 4 me that is saying summit cuz i cannot listen 2 that song without crying and im gettin that way with this 1 =D it also gives me shivvers. i dunno y.

  • Nat king cole´s version is much deep, simple, natural & better - not forgetting timeless & smoooooooooooth.

  • I did not think I was going to like this rendition of the song because it is an old Nat King Cole favorite of mine. I was amazed at how well done it was. The video was excellently done also. David Bowie Huzzzah.

  • Cette chanson est magnifique ... It grabs you in such a powerful way. Great interpretation by Bowie!

  • It's a great - & creepy/weird - song. Reminds me of cirque du soliel music. Somehow it sounds 'French' to me.

  • Holy Harry Potter! That is really weird! I thought about Corteo as soon as I saw this in Moulin Rouge!!! And the Moulin Rouge is French, so that makes sense.... this song is always in my nightmares.... I woke up screaming once....

  • :( this movie makes me cry! T_T

  • I like the David Bowie very much

  • ...and then one day,

one magic day he passed my way...

    so beautiful!

since he passed my way I can't live without him anymore

because the greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return :)

  • a very strange boy..

..and the one day,one magic day.."

    beautiful!

  • i love this song !

    and movieee , its amazing !! =]

and such a true and deep quote

the greatest thing youll ever learn, is just to love, and be loved, in return

  • nice

  • i just love this song and movie!

  • it is bowie with massive attack!

  • Massive attack?

    With ... a MONKey wrench???

    :-)

  • i like both versions, this one and the one in the movie, they both take you away in diferent ways, it would be boring that all versions were the same dont you think

  • this songs take me to another place, its like magic

  • That was brilliant, I love this film sooo much. It makes me cry every time.

  • every time I listened to this song, I start crying, it's just amazing :'):')

  • it'is so beautyful but i think.......evan mc gregor&nicole kidman are a enchanted person...

  • Lovely video! Thanks for sharing!

  • One of the best songs ever! Nice job Mr. Bowie

  • I just heard this musical poem in Hamburg by Ian And The Zodiacs from Liverpool. I never forget Ian´s remarkable voice and the words: The greatest thing you´ll ever learn is: just to love and be loved in return. It´s the oldest, the simplest and the easiest way to make a good thing workin - in every human class... in every nation... in every heart. Only clear and soft water forms the stone... ♪♫♪♫ Love & Hugs, Rainy ♫ ♪ ♫♪
  • I first heard this song performed by Nat King Cole, and only a few other since. Each artist expresses it from his own place, and this song lends itself so well to a variety of interpretations. I've never heard one I didn't like. But then, artistically speaking, David Bowie is beyond reproach. His courage speaks to me.

  • UGH WHERE IS THE ONE THAT WAS IN THE MOVIE?!?! no offense but david bowies voice RUINS the song compared to toulouse's in the movie. does anyone know who uploaded the one IN THE MOVIE?? i cant find it ANYWHERE.

  • Quite right, Arch - dunno if you've heard it but take a listen to Kurt Elling's version, live with the Sydney Philharmonic. Again, a bit special.

  • what is the second song that goes,

    da da dada da dadda

  • Oh for god's sake. This version of the song was not sung by David Bowie. It's by John Leguizamo , part of the cast. The theme song, however, IS song by David Bowie. But that is not this version.

  • this IS David Bowie, anyone can hear it! :)

  • this is david bowie look it up moulin rouge soundtrack!!

  • I love this song so much, and I think this version and the version in the movie are the best ones. Is it Toulose(spell?) who sings it in the movie?

  • yes, in this video it is David Bowie though

  • Why cant you accept that musicians have different interpertions of sonsgs. Nature Boy is a classic. Bowie;s version maybe 'opertic' but it's very haunting. And I defy you to say his vocal performance is good. Especailly at the end. Chilling

  • This is so Beautiful... I really love it, I think Bowie's verson is the best.. Amazing voice!!

  • i loooove this song

  • I sang this acapella for a talent show once. Surprised myself with how well I did. lol

  • I think that the texte is very beautiful... I like it =)

  • It's certainly not typical "Bowie" - I am impressed - I didn't think he had this in him - not to diminish his amazing body of work - but singing like this takes guts. hey - let's all be positive on You Tube - we could change the world!

  • one of the best movies ever made!

  • Nat and only Nat should sing this song... By Law :)

  • nah, i prefer david

  • "you must be a moslem or german. They always want to make laws and make EVERYONE obey their wishes."

I don't think that's fair or true, but i agree with the peace love and freedom bit :)

  • I don't 'hate' Bowie, I just think he is an average singer. I don't understand why his version was put on the soundtrack when he didn't sing it in the movie.

  • I love Bowie

  • love it! i get chills too

  • You have to see the song in the context of the movie!!! But his voice when he goes and be love in return ' Wow sends chills down me. Why not open your minds to differnet versions I love Nats and others.

  • Leonoel, thank you for making my point!

When you see it "in the context of the movie", you are hearing John Leguizamo sing it, not Bowie. And, yes it will send chills up your spine, as opposed to Bowie's self indulgent pseudo-operatic rendition.

  • I have never been able to azppreciate David Bowie ... until i heard his version of Nature Boy. Pseudo NOTHING. He is songing as he sings.. and it isonderful to hear. I guess we all have different tastes... and don't they enrich this sad, damaged world ? As long as we don't force others to go along with our own tastes ? There is room for all of us... oh yes there is.

love to all, especially those whom hate me.

    xx robbie

  • This is weak compared to John Leguizamo's rendition in the movie. John is not a great singer but at least his was heartfelt. Bowie just sounds so full of himself. Only Nat sang it better. Nat could sing the phone book.

Could someone please post the original movie version with JL?

  • I flipin' love this song! ive had it in my head all week... i think ill watch moulin rouge now!! woooo

  • :D greaat song brings tears to my ears if u like this song five me thumbs up!! + 1

  • I have no problem with the song. But "tears to my EARS" I can not understand.

  • You meant Christian? I love this movie and this song too by the way... (L)

  • I think its awesome with David Bowie's voice

  • Sorry, but Bowie singing exactly like Scott Walker doesn't do it for me. Nat King Cole's version of this song is ten times better, and Alex Chilton's cover is a hundred times better.

  • Gave

    Me

    Chills.

    Thank you.

  • i like the one from the movie

  • the song in the movie was better, this is the origenel song. In the movie is the song a little bit different... it's a good song!

  • I looove this song, david bowie's really good, the music is sooooo great in Moulin Rouge... i lurv that film

  • This song almost brings me to tears everytime. David Bowie is the only person that can pull this kind of song off. His voice was made for it.

  • i didnt know david bowie sang this!! i love david bowie!!!!

  • I think Bowie is but noone sings this song like the master; Nat King Cole.

  • i like it more with the guy from Moulin Rouge but this version is awesome too. I live by that quote, 'The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.' Does anyone else think of the music in Aladdin (the disney version) at the end where it's just music?

  • DAVID BOWIE IS FUCKING AWSOME.!!!!!

  • DAVID BOWIE! no questions asked he is amazing!

  • Amazing song but i love the movie varsion that im dying to know who sing it there!

if u know plz tell me :D

  • I absolutely love this movie AND this song... Beacause I speak french, I translated all the songs in french in the movie for some of my friends. the music is really beautiful.

  • amazing song though i prefer the one with a single piano (as sung by celine dion)

  • David Bowie is absolutely perfect for this song!!! So mysterious and yet telling. Gorgerous!

  • This song is amazing and bowies voice controll is that of a master. Moulin Rouge is a masterpiece!

  • Amazing film.... I can't believe it got snubbed at the Oscars that year. Stupid Academy.

  • Anstatt zu arbeiten kann man auch mit Poker Geld verdienen. Mit Aktions-Code AFLUSH auf Betfairpoker com registrieren und gleich mal 1000$ geschenkt bekommen.

  • i find the timimg sometime rather annoying

  • yeah me too-i prfer the timing on the film but still a great song.

  • I like Bowie but he murdered this he sounds like he is about ready to fall asleep here. Nat King Coles version is the best for sure.

  • I love this song and fell in love with it the first time I heard it. Nat King Cole was the singer and in my opinion no-one sings it just like him.

  • the guy who sings it in the movie is so moving! his voice just makes me start to have tears in my eyes. and i never cry. but that version of the song from the movie is magical

  • i totally agree :)

  • yeah! this song is really nice! please can u send me how did u find in limewire?

i have searched for it, and i couldn't find it.please, can u tell me what did u put to find it??

  • Do they have this as an instrumental or musical score?

  • - If you are looking for the movie version -

Send me a PM. I've got it, and can send you a link / mail by request :).

    Love this song :)

  • boss film

  • o my godd that history is soo sadd

  • it's sad.

  • this song makes me cry... i love it!

  • I would have loved it if they released the version that John sang, but hey David Bowie rox, I heart him to pieces!!! :)

  • There are two versions on the Moulin Rouge Soundtrack... This One And The collaboration with Massive Attack..Its an Old old song by Eden Ahbez.... Even Nat King Cole Has covered it

  • This isnt the song though... ive been looking for the moulin rouge version of this song EVERYWHEREEEEE!!! But i cant find it... Ughh... **very pissed**

if any of you know the real one let me know please!!!!

  • its david bowie with background by massive attack! thats the good version much better than this

  • I dissagree. The other versoin has a kind of sensual mistery that David Bowie lacks. DONT GET ME WRONG. I LOVE Bowie, but the best singer in the world can be turned down for a part simply because their voice doesn't fit the song. :)

  • the one with ewan mcgreggor? i know i have been looking for that too!

  • We should all email Baz and request a new soundtrack with all the actors singing from the film on it :) I'm kidding of course, but that would be sweet if they released that

  • that would be effin sweeeet

  • Indeed! :) I just might start an online petition for it, lol XD

  • moi aussi

  • i def. prefer this version - its sort of darker and more mysterious!! lol the film is amazing - i love it!!

  • REPPIN NAT KING COLE..... i think Nat's version is better.. though this version gives me goosebumps because of the context.... a Great movie... very cleverly made... ! lOVE THE SONG ANYWAY!!!!!!

  • It's a song from Nat King Cole!!! Not David Bowie :o:o

Anyways, this is not better than the Nat Kind Cole version, but still a beautifull song.

  • An original orchestral version of 'Nature Boy' can be heard playing throughout the entire forties film 'The Boy with Green Hair' I was so amazed when I heard it. It's a very good movie.

  • loved the clips and the song! :)

  • i love this music and the film and the moulin rouge et tout la france

  • in my opinion, he has a good voice, but it wasn't meant for this song.

  • Aye, not like the mysterious..ness of the voice in the actual film, but nontheless david bowie's voice is full of wisdom. i love it man!

  • Really really really good! 'The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love, and be loved in return. (L)

  • keep up the good work

  • great job

  • I really like this.

    Bowie has a great voice.

  • toulouse sings it better

  • i love this! david bowie voice is amazing... and this movie is awesome!!! thank you!

  • david bowie is singing this?

  • yep yep :)

  • I love this Film and the music is great

  • best film ever!!

  • Oh yeah.. its from the movie.. forget my question.. its 6 in the morning:-)

  • This is not the original version is it? Was it not made by Eden Ahbez???

  • Great Movie!

  • aaah I get goosebumps every time!! LOVE the whole movie!

  • i love this song so much it makes me cry! its so sad and beautiful thank you for posting it!

  • My favorite movie!!

  • what did you make the vid with? its very good! i love the transitions

  • Hi, I made this slideshow using iPhoto on our macintosh computer, and used droplet transitions. Thanks so much! :) Christine

  • Love The Song, Love Ewan... Great!

  • this is awesome! but i just don't like the fact that all the transitions are the small [like the water droplets] but otherwise...its great!

  • Love This song!!! ;)

  • Great pics, great song!
