  • what are those tools called

  • dude you are awesome

  • Should have disassembled headset and fork to check, clean, and grease the bearings and races first.

  • my headset squeaks what can be the problem

  • @ramzzzzzzz Could be a bent fork stem also.

  • @ramzzzzzzz Grease, more than likely.

  • awesome video thanks. looks like your building a polo bike!

  • I took apart an old headset on an old schwinn so I could paint it. I saved all the parts. Now I'm trying to put it together and the stem is too long for the lock nut. I have all the washers that were on it and the stem is still to long. Is there a reason for this? Is there a way to fix this without cutting the stem? Thanks.

  • dude WTF is up with all the expertvillage videos being completely blocked by the text? how can I see what I'm doing if I can't SEE IT????

  • @kennycorris there is an x on the top right of the ad...

  • Please watch:

THE WORLD'S SIMPLEST TRANSMISSION for BICYCLE

  • very annoying the way the subtitles obstruct viewing!!

  • Hi Russ!! I love your tutorials, totally to the point, no yap yap yaps.

  • Rigid bikes are fun!

  • Great Info. Question: As these style of headset always work loose, would using Loctite 290 Threadlock help prevent this if used on the locking nut? Would you recommend this?

My Headset always seems to get loose too quickly and is quite annoying. I have not tried using it, but I don't see that it would cause any problem...what are your thoughts?

    Thanks

  • couple of things missing here.its critical that the stembolt be adjusted to its final tightness before the headset bearing adjustment is made.the reason is that the steerer tube will shorten slightly as the stembolt is tightened.if the headset is adjusted perfectly before the stembolt is tightened then the bearing adjustment will be too tight when the stembolt is tightened.

  • Un called for!

  • What do the orange and red markings on your wrenches signify? Are these colour codes for sizes?

If so, what other colours do you use?

  • cool
