@earthstar I agree the world knows more about bollywood rather than kollywood. That does not mean bollywood makes good films, its just there are more north indians abroad than tamils. Tamil industry has always produced excellent films since 50 yrs ago starting from K balachandar and the concept of 'masala' came from bollywood to kollywood. I dont know how u measure quality, if its the out of reality outfits, colors and lifestyle is quality then, yes bollywood has more quality.

It is just out of anger that I am saying that they are not recognised with their better story lines and without much over acting and seeming (larger than life) than bollywood movies. I want tamil movies to prosper and gain recognision. Great movies like Hey Ram and Muthal Mariyathai need to be out there. But sadly, in Tamil Nadu, they prefer crap. It is disgusting.

@earthstar God knows which state your from, but first develop your own film institute ( not the cheapy ones which i bet youll have but the types found down south that produces most technicians for bollywood-if your not informed that is), develop a film idiom of your own, and shoot a FEATURE lenght film, do the telecine in your state, do the reverse telecenie in your state, do the dubbing, do the post production independently in your state and then talk of tamil cinema- you brash illiterate
