  • CHIDDY BANG

  • i love the introduction to this song so much!

  • @penguinrocker303101 actually no its not xD

  • @penguinrocker303101omg are you stupid? why woulkd it be ok when she was 7 but not now that she's 22 and why would people think she's weird for having a friend with a serious illness? and also how does she take her out

  • like this if you think this song was meant for skulduggery pleasant.

  • @FoReVeRcRaZification Thank gods someone else you thinks that too!!

  • @DancingWithMidnight FELLOW SKULDUGGERY PLEASANT LOVER FOR THE WIN. you, fellow sorcorer, are now my new best friend.

  • this makes me feel uncomfortable

  • I have an imaginary friend that I've had since I was seven too, but I can't tell you his name because that would be betraying him.

  • im inlove with this song i love kate nash so much if i was gay i would marry her :)

  • she reminds me of zoey dechannel

  • it's about anorexia. she told us at a gig

  • most uncomfortable thing to listen to..... Ever.

  • Kate Nash really needs to get more press.

  • I feel like this song is just about someone who is uncomfortable with her body - like her posture. I don't think it's meant to be serious. Or that it's about an imaginary friend.

  • definitely going on my 'Halloween Playlist.'

  • Bizarre but totally awesome i love kate nash and all her songs by this one is now my fave

  • This sounds like a self injury song.

  • The worst part was at :16 when YouTube wouldn't let me play the rest of the video.

  • this song reminds me of my friend :/

  • I don't like songs when the lyrics don't make any sense, even though the melody is nice etc..

but I really love this one.

  • i didnt know she is this crazy haha love it

  • this song reminds me of sunako nakahara :)

  • i do a dance too this in dancing<3 ly katee:')

  • tht lucky.

    shes pretty.

sooooo lucky and also has an amazing voice.

  • Oi....twenty two....her voice is that of an angels...

  • I don't know why, but this song makes me want to cry. :')

  • @supersquare95 Isn't it just so sweet in a weird way? And I love how the song gets sort of creepy in her "killing him" part. But still so sweet at the end :)

  • SKELETONS IN THE CLOSET. DUH.

  • is the skeleton hers, or just a living skeleton?

  • I wrote this song in a biology exam that I knew I was going to fail anyway and I got sent to the school psychiatrist. I love you Kate Nash :')

  • @KellyMarreeAh MY HERO!!! :P

  • @4evafreedom Thank you! For everyone else reading, I'm pretty sure the song is about herself, her mind, her body, and how she had no friends in school so she was friend with herself, and how she's awkward socially, and sometimes she feels like killing herself (i.e. the skeleton) but she could never bring herself to do it so in the end she just accepts herself for who she is... But that's just my interpretation.

  • @KellyMarreeAh yeah that does sound possible. but why would it be okay when she was seven, and not when she was 22? my theory is the imaginary friend thing

  • @Penguins1661 she struggled with anorexia, and this is what this song is about

  • @KellyMarreeAh something tells me we should be friends somewherre down the road cuz that sounds just like me on my math test when i dont know the anwsers or i scrabble on them.

  • @KellyMarreeAh lol

  • @KellyMarreeAh i sooo would have givin' you a hundred a hundred stickers and a high-five

  • @KellyMarreeAh Omg I did that on my Algebra test[: And got sent to the guidance counselour.. who called my mom...who laughed(:

  • @KellyMarreeAh legend!

  • this is soooo slow

  • she is going to kill it with a hammer haha

  • love this song and how it changes styles

    it's awesome

  • i think she's talking about HER skeleton. She insecure maybe and so sometimes she feels like she wants to smash her skeleton and look different but then she realizes that she should be happy about her appearance. idk, that's what i think, but i will just enjoy the song the same with whatever meaning she wanted to put behind it.

  • this song makes me think about the show Bones haha and Dr. Brenan :P

  • As a schizophrenic, this means very much to me. I like hows it's on a lighter note.

  • i love this song! ;D

  • Could it potentially mean that she has to let go of something that she loves (maybe a passion?) and she has to get rid of it to the stagnating of unwanted social attention. Regardless, an astute individual with much talent. I love this song!

  • @ChemmRawr listen to 'we get on' by her she couldnt sound more British! but i love it! :)

  • wow this is creepy

  • she doesn't look like her voice sounds and she sounds like lily allen!!!!!!!!!!! :)

  • Science revision for my test on thursday, well erm i guess ill just write "skeletons are friendly" hahha,

  • @ChemmRawr Haha, yeah, that'd be a good reason to sound british ;D

  • Maybe its something she did or a memory when she was younger or like a 'skeleton in the closet'. when it says" u havegot no body, so why do u insist on wearing clothes' might mean its not an actual object but everyone sees it/knows about what she did

  • @ChemmRawr I want you to know that I had to work hard at not making a sarcastic comment here :P

It will be my gift to you :)

  • I like this song. It is creppy though. But I really love her voice. I think she has alot of talent. :D Keep up te good work Kate.

  • the most under rated songwriter everrrr

  • It KINDA sounds like a let go song :/ the skeleton is your friend (a friend who you think you should let go of) but your having a hard time doing that cus you've been friends with it for such a long time."But skeleton you are my friend and i could never bring your life to an end" could mean that you can't end your friendship. "Skeleton you are your are my friend and i will be there for you until the end" kinda makes me believe that even more. u stil want 2 let go bt you don't have the courage 2.

  • Maybe the skeleton was her imaginary friend and she dont know if she should grow up and like stop imagining it or not LOL :)

  • i'm in love widf this sonq !

    ialways sinq iht :DD

iht annoys the hell outta my friend buht ido iht anyway xDD

    anywayzz,... qood jobb (:

    --- xOhotfudge ♥

  • reminds me of piano lessons haha

  • I honestly have no idea what this song's about, and probably never will.

The beat of it though, is phenomonal.

    Love it!

  • oO woher kenn ich das?

    es ist toll :D

  • is it about anorexia???

  • She's a right NASH!

  • i haste this song!

  • This song is about her imaginary friend. Lol the science test one made me giggle though

  • You know a song won't make much sense when it starts out with a sound you'd probably hear in LOST.

  • It's about her having an imaginary friend she had when she was a child. She loved her imaginary friend then but now that she's a grown-up, she doesn't want it anymore, so as a way of closure, she dreams of killing it. But as we all know, no matter what way, shape or form it is, imaginary or not, friends are forever. So basically the moral is about keeping friends, thick and thin.

    Make new friends,

    But keep the old

    One is silver-

    And the other's gold...

  • @aaahahahehe yeah that seems plausible and it's "skeleton" because without her friend she could not be

  • @aaahahahehe

I could have sworn the song was a bout anorexia. My Health teacher even used this as our anorexia song for that chapter.

  • @aaahahahehe

haha, i remember that song at the end.... we sang it in girlscouts...

  • you are so very right

  • @aaahahahehe UM NOT EVEN CLOSE ITS ABOUT HER FRIEND HAVING ANEREXIA ASS HOLE

  • Two girls who were once good friends grow up to be two completely different people. They complain that they are ashamed to be seen together in public. In the end, they decide they would like to remain best friends.

  • I think it could be about a secret she's keeping, a 'skeleton in the closet,' possibly concerning a friend. And at the point where she's talking about the skeleton being her friend, she's actually referring to the part of the secret having to do with her friend? And maybe she's considering letting it slip when she talks abut picking up the hammer.

I don't know. But it's also a possibility that Kate intended no meaning and is sitting at home laughing at us all try to decipher it.

  • does kate nash write her own songs?

  • kate nash has such an ordinary vioce but there's something that makes it really good..

  • i love this song

  • it reminds me of skeletti in ruby gloom ..

  • I don't think she's talking 'bout a eating disorder, skeleton may be a imaginary friend of her when she was a kid

  • i freaking love kate nash.

    she is just the sex.

    J'ADORE.

    <3

-even if she's a complete random nutter ;D

  • great sound but i'm confused what the meaning is

  • Okay i just need to point this out, I do have a very in depth knowledge of eating disorders. This song is not about an eating disorder, otherwise she would be singing about wanting to get rid of it, rather then saying that the only reason why she wants to get rid of him is because it's awkward, it's more about being friends with the really weird kid and they embarrass her. Or you know... it might just be a random song about a skeleton

  • it does sound like shes talking about her eating disorder "you've got me standing in an awkward position, with unwanted attention and a need for explanation". If shes anorexic she needs an explanation as to why she looks so skinnny..

  • KATE NASH IS AWESOME AND U ALL KNOW IT!!

  • It may not have a point, but maybe it's about a friend who was there for her and then left or they aren't as close anymore.. hence "Skeleton"

  • its her eating disorder. shes referring to it as a skelton. if you listen and have a slight understanding of eating disorder.. it makes sense.

  • i think shes talkin about her body apearince and how she doesnt like it but she knows that that is her and its her friend

  • I think it's like an imaginary friend or someone who she hangs around with who is 'weird' and peer pressure makes her think that she doesn't want someone weird around her to have to explain herself to other people but at the same time she doesnt want to let him go :\ i duno aha

  • Well, I THINK...that I love this song =D

  • @JustLikeDottie

i think the skeleton thing symbolizes any friend who everyone else thinks is really weird or is an outcast type person

  • we learnt about anorexia today, the pics were quite disturbing to be honest... but i'm not meaning to sound rude! =)

  • i think VSQ1cullen is right :)

    i love this song

  • I think everybody can have their own representation to this song. I think that was the point of it. To have your own opinion behind the meaning that brings out your past or present personal memories or emotions. So everyone's right. :]

  • I THINK it means some people have a friend who is weird or an outcast and everyone else make fun o them for it but you still love them even though they make life harder for you

  • No, everyone's wrong: This song is about anorexia.

  • no it isn't you fucking loser

  • @PhsycoNerdLive I don't think so.

  • @PhsycoNerdLive

no. everyone is not wrong. that would definitely be taking it over-literally. it's symbolism for a friend who everyone else thinks is weird.

  • i think i understand... so its like, a girl who was friends with sombody even though they werent the coolest...then he started liking her...and she doesnt like like him... guess im not klueless after all (:

  • this dosent help me with my science test at all :(

  • Haha. But it sends your senses in an outburst! :]

  • @cheeky080monkey I believe Hanna Montana has a song on the show that might help...

  • @cheeky080monkey haha sry thts cute :D im not lesbo, sry haha

  • @cheeky080monkey xD Join the club~ Stupid me actually started singing this in the middle of a test about the anatomy of the skeleton, or something like that... Trust me, don't do that. You'll get kicked out for 'cheating' and have to take it at lunch time... :I

  • It means its like her childhood represented in a skeleton, she wants to let it go but cant let her self realease it

  • @VSQ1Cullen i agree

  • what does she sing about ?

  • Truly love this song, even though it reminds me of my ex. ;)

  • You know, as a Role-Player this song really means a lot to me. I've got all of these characters in my head. and they talk, and they make demands of clothing and music and food and I just want to murder them and kill them, but I can't because I love them. Even if they piss me off.

    Yeah, I sound crazy. haha

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 omg me too!

I have ended up rolling on the ground in the rain muttering to myself

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 ooh I do that all the time.

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 Same here! I agree!

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 ack a larper!! i love nerds..

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 That's how I am too omo My characters constantly critisize me too, but I critisize back and we drive each other crazy : D

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 Someone who understands. XD

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912

    You sound crazy.

  • @RocketBabyDoll52912 Crazy people are the BEST people.

  • my mate and her best friends sister did a gym routine to this song and it was amazing so i love this song xx

  • i adore this song!! its so cute and catchy..but sorta different from some of her other songs.

  • like y r u getting thumbs down, ppl r trigger happy

  • I like this song

  • i know i love this osng!!! thx for showing it to me sarah!

  • ......I'm pretty sure its a skeleton......

  • shes soo pretty <33 xx

  • I dont know why, but i keep listening to this...

  • Is this on MAde Of Bricks?

  • the first thought i got was that it was about being close with someone for a long time and you'll always love them but as you get older you both change until they're just a skeleton of how they used to be and even though you've sort of grown apart and don't feel quite the same about them, you could never let them go because they mean so much to you.

  • i think shes talking about an imaginary friend or maybe her childhood

  • Maybe it wasnt sposed to have a point. . Your thinking to far into it and getting insutled and such. . maybe the sng was never sposed to have a point

  • @xXhandipandiXx

at her gig last night, Kate Nash said it was about annorexia

  • it's not about anything according to her, when i saw her live she said that people said it was about annorexie nervosa but it isn't, it's apparently just about a skeleton :P

  • i dont like the song creeps me out but if anyone knows what its about please tell me

  • I kind of like this song. It's rather weird, but most likely has another meaning than that she's actually walking around with a real skeleton.

In my head it's like that sometimes you can get mad an annoyed with your friends (referring to weird dream she was singing about) but still; they're your friends, and even though you're mad at them sometimes, they mean a lot to you, and you wouldn't actually "leave them".

Okay this all sounds very sentimental, but it's true.. For me, anyway ^^

  • when someone was telling me about it i thought it was about anerixia, ya know walkin around being real thin attracting attention

  • there is no such thing as a tibula...its tibia and fibula... just some fun skeleton facts

  • that song beat me on face

  • xHomemadeLemonadex-

I totally agree, she's too deep for it to be about skinny people or imaginary friends, those are

    too obviouse.

  • i think this may be about sum1 she cares about and no skin blood an that may meean they have no feelings,no heart and things like that, or thier sensitive and they get hurt 2 asily,, Indicating the 'theres nuthn 2 protect your bones'' part

  • she sounds a bit like shakira...

    lol

  • my god ¬_¬... did the doctor crash you´re head when you got borned??

  • no.

I used to lick the walls and I think the paint was toxic, but thanks for the complement.

    lol

I know she doesn't at all. It's just that with the "ah, ah ah..."etc she kind of does. just a little bit.

  • Ohhh, it's so funny xD

  • I was reading these comments and I was thinking this can't be about someone anorexic because being referred as a skeleton is quite offensive and having an imaginary friend seemed quiet obvious but the lyrics indicate something else. Then theres the expression "Everyone's got skeletons in their closets." which does seem more appropriat so thats my interpretation of this song, she tries to get rid of something which is kind of who she is and she has come to terms with this secret. I love this song

  • I agree with you completly,, it does make sense

  • i agree with K2theENZI, i think it´s about an imaginary friend

  • Yeah I always thought this song was about an anorexic friend. I mean, it would be awkward to take that friend out to eat you know? Or do anything in general...

But yeah that whole skeleton in a closet kind of makes sense.

  • this comment is kind of insulting 2 anorexic people.

  • Sorry I didn't mean to be offensive at all. But she says, "And now it's different, when I take you out

And you, you've got me standing in an awkward position

With unwanted attention and a need for explanation" Which is probably what would happen if you took your friend out who looked too thin...maybe not anorexic, but very thin.

  • Maybe an annorexic friend ):

Or yeh I agree with the idiom of everyone has a 'skeleton in their closet' it makes a lot of sense : )

  • i actually lyk kate nash she's awesome..

  • i like her 2!! kate nash is awesum!

  • shes so random xD is this about an imaginary skeleton friend??

  • I see the song referring to the idiom 'everyone has a skeleton in the closet' what means that everyone has a dark shameful secret which they don't want other people to know about.

She tried to get rid off it (smashing it...etc.), because it brought her to 'awkward position and unwanted attention', but she couldn't do it, because, no matter how bad it is, it's still a part of her and her past. : )

Though I see the imaginary friend as cuter. ^_^

Still, we can only guess what artist meant, yeah?

  • I don't get this song!

  • what thee hell is supposed to bee abowwt, she is the randomest singer EVER:)

  • or it was just kate nash was uber bored one day and was writing bout her skeleton?

  • @xXhandipandiXx I thought it was about a friend with eating disorders, honestly.

  • I think its talking about something really deep inside of her the use of a skeleton to symbolize something scary that she wants to get rid of but just cant cause shes so used to having it its a part of her

  • i think its about a doll thatss now old listen 2 it again while thinking about it that way

  • she means that she had a friend when she was smaller and they were so close, and now her friend has changed, and is less warmer to kate... now she doesn't know what to do and is questioning her, eg "why do you insist on wearing clothes?" well, thats just coming from a fourteen year old, and thats just my idea, but yeah :Dx

  • I just love this song...but too bad she isn't that popular in America... :(

  • its about her imaginaary friend!! love love love the song

  • esthermorris wth? if it was about her annorexic freind why wud she get teased for it? n why wud she ask why it wears clothes? LOL

    Great song tho :D

  • no it doesnt!! god rlly! its got nothin to do with annorexia

  • i dont understand the point of the song but i like it =^o^=

  • I agree with you. I love the song, but am a little lost on the meaning.

  • luv this song so much

  • I love this song, but the writing is not easy to read, when I try to sing with this writing, it's so difficult.

  • love this song !!! kate nash whoop !

  • llove it :)

  • Totally, amazing son, amazing singer, amazing vid ;),x

  • kate nash = awesome
