  • where the jetpack

  • didn't see any difference. fucking PR

  • Amazing effects.

  • I hardly feel that a few extra particle effects with no effect on gameplay or overall importance warrants a $200+ purchase.

  • @GrandHighGamer you dont have to have special hardware to run PhysX. It can run on either the CPU or any CUDA-enabled graphics card.

  • ... I bought a 250$ Ageia Physics card ,CAN I HAVE MY MONEY BACK?..... PLEASE!!!!... Since Nvidia eliminated support for it......

  • @mrjamesb56

    no, you cant.

  • If Fermi is so powerful why are the physx settings on medium???????? Dont get me wrong , ima be first in line to buy a fermi and test it out =)

  • they are set at high 30 seconds later.

  • The game lags for 0.3-0.4 seconds every single time the enemies explode. Anybody else notice this?

  • ...Yes there Seems to be lag...

  • @BaronVonGotha No, it's called slow motion. :)

  • @BaronVonGotha Yeah man, what neroe23 said. They slow it down so that you can notice the effects.

  • Fermi can run over 1 million PhysX particles with no lag in fps. That's crazy!

  • @SonsOfHateSphere Hopefully.

  • It can. Nvidia showed of Fermi in a PhysX test with more than 1 million particles.

  • @SonsOfHateSphere Did Nvidia create the "Test/benchmark/Software/Program"? lol

  • I can't play it on pc it's impossible for me :(....

  • Physx vs eyefinity. I know what im going with!

57601080 resolution games that are native.

    I think ATi wins.

  • nv 3d surround soon + physx

  • considering ATI supports hacks to use nvidas physx dont be so quick to talk

  • yeah but i used it to make my ATi 5780 @ college have physx and its shit on ATi cards so laggy

  • ATi does not create or support these hacks at all. The difference between ATi and nvidia at driver level is that ATi allows custom *unsuported* drivers, where as nvidia doesnt. So no, ATi doesnt support these hacks.

  • Very poor effects! who would want laggy effects like that?

  • I agree :D And for those that think a cpu can't do all those effects Ive got One word for you PS3 CELL BROADBAND ENGINE. Its a Powerful Console CPU that renders PARTICLES in real time. And people keep telling me that the cpu can't render particles XD And the CELL compared to modern QUAD CPU'S Is fairly weaker.

  • I get the same effects on my 4870. lol.

  • FU nap, physx sux ass, hardly any games support it and the ones that do mostly suck ass like this game,. physx is away for NV to get you to part with cash for shit that's is not necessary, look at the bolt on effects in this shit title, it's embarrassing, it will die on its ass because it's propriety shit.

  • the way IT'S MEANT to be played :D

  • i was gonna buy an nvidia gts 250 to use with my 5870 for physx but then i saw that nvidia hates people who used to be customers and switched to ati but wanted to get nvidia for physx but now nvidia apparently hates customers and are blocking physx when detecting an ati card

  • BUt........ theres a way to do it :D thanks to someone who hacked it we can now do that again! I like Using ati more as well because nvidia is such of waste of money that whith the extra money i save when buying ati i can buy me something else! we can still do it!

  • yeah but i didnt buy nvidia because of price i bought it because of performance on single gpu

but yes there are hacks i just wish companys were more fair lol

  • I agree :D ATI IS AWESOME :D am I right or am I right :)

  • sorry i ment to say ATI*

  • Yea me too :D Thats what I was looking for performance!

  • Saw It All I gotta say is that the reason why its going that slow is because the CPU is RENDERING ALL OF The 3D as well. Not just the particle simulation. While the GPU is rendering both. Now if I had one card simulating the graphics and One cpu simulating the particles tell me, You can't do that? We have been doing it for years. Play call of duty MW2 on pc and play missions were there are exploded Vehicles and YOU will see particle effects.

  • @iJames1o1o modern CPUs can render like cell or i7. i7 even has video processor built in.

  • And he told me they cant XD all cpus can thats how they make animated movies and art rendering with the cpu XD lol

  • Comment removed

  • Well then How in the hell do they render In 3d? Like in Blender? Your CPU thats how. And yes it can XD

  • Comment removed

  • Decoding? Its rendering.... Download the blender software and tell me if its not rendering on the cpu! Anyways you should go to sleep :)

  • Comment removed

  • @iJames1o1o LOL a CPU can render wat you ask of it ! LMAO

  • He keeps responding to me that it cant render it XD Whatever we ask the cpu it can do. And he thinks that it cant XD

  • Thats Cool, but to be honest I have more physics and particle effects in my Crysis Mod.

PhysX is a great Feature tho, don't get me wrong, the thing is it takes all or most of all the physics off the CPU witch is nice, .

I like the PhysX Maps for UT3, they are nice.

  • ROFL, as if my i7920 @4.3Ghz couldn't handle your crappy physx effects, hell most modern CPU's could do em, keep milking them noob fanboys NV...;

  • you want your CPU to simulate 50,000 particles? Have fun with that. A CPU could never do shit like this in real time with today's tech.

You need a shit ton of parallel processing power.

  • um we are not in 2001 we are in 2010 and I believe we can do that NOW A quad cpu and up can do it. So you are telling me an intel core i7 920 cannot do these effects? with its quad core cpu and 8 threads? right...... oh and amd is releasing new 6 core cpu. Physyx is overhyped and any cpu thats a quad can do it. I have NFS and it REQUIRES PHYSYX oh oh i have an ati 4770, :O well guess what. I have A QUAD core cpu and it runs perfect. thumbs down for you on ur comment.

  • Welp, it's quite clear that you're an idiot.

PhysX can be used on pretty much any platform. Every game on Unreal 3 uses PhysX. But the basic PhysX physics engine and the GPU accelerated PhysX very different. A modern CPU cannot simulate 50,000 particle collisions in real time. It just can't. The same way a GPU can't do stuff like running the game engine (yet).

    Do some fucking research.

  • Well then you must do your research more because A modern cpu can. And what's up with the idiot stuff? Did I call you an idiot? I guess not. Thanks for the insult.

  • You're an idiot if you honestly believe you can do a 50,000 particle simulation in real time on a CPU.

  • Ok........,Folks there we have it I AM AN IDIOT BECAUSE I THINK ALL THOSE PARTICLES CANNOT BE DONE ON THE CPU. I AM A BIG IDIOT! :D

  • Watch this to see how a CPU stacks up to a GPU in a mass particle simulation:

    /watch?v=z5Cdc2gFngk

  • Ive got one word for you PS3 CELL BROADBAND ENGINE. While it may not be as strong as modern quad CPU's It can sure make particles look awesome. And Its a CPU what do you got to say to that?

  • @Edsan91 actually cell is a very custom chip mostly harder to actually use than a gpu and way harder, cumbersome and restricted than a traditional cpu

  • I know but once it gets done its perfect! Search on here for ps3 raytracing ull be amazed.

  • Lol. The Cell can't do particle simulations much better than your average mid-rage quad core.

  • @tehdaza um thats what i said somewere here. but it still can

  • Then what the fuck are you trying to prove?

  • @tehdaza That you can do particles on a CPU? DUH....IDIOT XD

  • I'm talking about a mass particle simulation...

Not your average CPU based particles you've seen in every game since 1995.

  • @tehdaza You know what just never-mind, CPU now adays combined with a GPU WILL do particle simulations very well. Physx is just another Nvidia thing so that they get more money. Because you will not do physx with just one Nvidia card. Its so much "Powertaking" That you need 2. But with coding with cpus you can do the same effect. Ati has the same thing called ati Stream

  • I'm not saying ATI cards can't do stuff like PhysX, they can, it's just that Nvidia now owns the rights to PhysX and it became a proprietary physics platform (even as an nvidia user, I don't agree with that)

I don't get why you're still argueing here, the fact is that GPU's are miles ahead of CPU's in terms of physics calculations and other compute-heavy workloads.

  • @tehdaza Whats this then?

    watch?v=mcU89Td53Gg

  • Not even close to the same thing...

    For one, that's a 2d simulation.

Also that's a demo to show off AMD's FirePro series of workstation GPU's.

  • @tehdaza Um 2d? Its not even close to 2d..... And its firepro series AND GPUS, And CPUS the demo is running only on a CPU not a gpu lol Its called OPENCL its not showing off the gpus its showing off on the CPU's you can clearly see it in the damn video XD the cores that its running on 1 2 3 4! lol

  • That's still a 2d particle sim.

  • Comment removed

  • That the nvidia Physix always Powns..

Nvidia Physix has the best simulation of Physix, when it comes to performance, looks and realism.

The new Physx in DX 11 on an GF100 = Pownage to anything seen before..

  • Not munch indeed, but still pretty cool!

  • doesn't add really anything to game

  • @asswipe91

    you are dumb.

  • wow

  • good
