@Dachande23 forcing? You have the option to not watch. Every form of art (especially movies and the like) will be saturated with the maker's (makers') beliefs. I don't say (insert religion here) cartoons shove their morals down my throat. I choose not to watch if it offends me, or I appreciate the movie for what it is while maintaining my own beliefs. Disney has conveyed many different religions thru their films (Mulan, Pocahontas, etc.) Childhood memories are like babies--handle with care.

@diaperkitten4ever No, of course not. The whole thing is meant to be symbolic. The cats are to the mice what the Cossaks are to the Jewish villagers. Watch "Fiddler On The Roof" and look up the history of the Jewish people in Russia and you'll see the significance.

Naw, this takes place within the 1880s-1890s. No nazis back then. What they probably represent is the anti-semitism expressed during the pogroms in Russia, as well as the social issues which plagued immigrants around the turn of the century(the disparaging nature of the tenements, corrupt labor management, ect).
