  • Where did you download this from its not on itunes?

  • @FacultyBob LOL

  • Oh please, You MUST upload the demo to a hosting site like rapidshare or something... I'm sure you will go down in RH history to all fans for showing us these gems! *wipes tears*

  • I cant EVER stop listening to Radiohead!!!

  • Now I want this song From The Basement!

  • This is incredible massive Smiths vibes!

  • Wow, those drums were a solid decade and a half/two decades ahead of their time. Fascinating sound overall, considering where they went after this, and then came back to.

  • @xMrLostmanx

what? beats like that existed back in the 70s, if not the 60s. and i bet the shit is inspired from even older music.

  • For some reason i cannot stop listening to this :) it sounds so 1980's you can tell they were big fans of the smiths

  • I fucking love that saxophone, thank you so much klootme (and oh yeah, radiohead)

  • Comment removed

  • Does it remind "These Are My Twisted Words" or is there something wrong with me?

  • @afigueiro the drumming is very similar is both songs

  • @afigueiro Well the drum beat sure does sound like it!

  • Thanx!

    Blogged @ testedonkids . net

  • The saxophone in this song is goood :)

  • I'm definitely interested. Please post more! Could have done with less saxophone on the track :) But really, this is really great stuff.

  • Look up a singer named Kevin Max, he was in some christian band named DC Talk, but Thom sounds EXACTLY like that guy its actually scary

  • Is there anyway I can download this? Thanks for the upload this is great

  • @GFX911 search Youtube mp3 converter on google and you can download it that way :)

  • could you Flac encode the whole tape, and put it on Megaupload? pretty please with drum machine on top?

  • Sounds a little like H.I.M.

  • Wow, this sheds so much more light on Radiohead's beginnings, amazing stuff, upload more if you have them please!

  • i wonder what has become of the saxophonist. 1000% regret he missed his chance?

  • they were so ahead of their time. I hear so many bands making stuff that sounds like this NOW. Geniuses waiting to happen.

This only proves the whole pablo honey theory more. They had to make poppy catchy stuff and gain a following and a name before being able to go back and make the stuff they wanted to make. stuff more like this. stuff more like radiohead.

  • Who sings this? Is it Ed?

  • @amn35iac def thom.

  • @amn35iac He's called Thom Yorke.

  • Looks nice!

  • Upload more please! I've actually been waiting to hear this tape since Helkat uploaded the sample in 2008!

  • This is actually better than anything on the king of limbs

  • @DomesticRecords

    King of Limbs is fffffffantastic

  • He sort of sounds a bit like Morissey in this song

  • Who is playing sax? or is it just really wird synths?

  • @lincha96 Raz Peterson!

  • Would love to hear what they could do if they revisited this On a Friday stuff on future Radiohead albums... Really not that bad at all!

  • "Will add more videos if anyone's interested!"

Are you fuckin mental ???? Of course we're interested !!! <3

  • this sounds way more like something from "the king of limbs" than makes sense....i think this is way cooler than the stuff released on pablo honey

  • @djdorama they had to do the pop grunge thing to make money doing this kind of stuff.

  • is it Thom playing Piano in this?

  • Sounds a lot like REM's Radio Free Europe. This is great.

  • It sounds like something that could fit well on In Rainbows, sans that sax solo.

  • Chorus is very much radiohead chord progression.

  • Lyrics anyone? No?

  • @BillClintonn too soon...

  • Seems like Pitchfork are fine with my postings. They published them just an hour ago and credited me. The copyright on the tape is O.A.F. Records......maybe THEY could chase me! I doubt Thom would be pissed off. He's in to sharing on the internet, they may have drawn tiny crowds to The Old Fire Station in 1992 but as of tonight almost 1500 people have listened to and enjoyed two songs that they wrote as 17 and 18 year olds. If Thom were to talk to me about this I'd totally justify it.

  • @klootme Cheers! Great way to get a date with Thom!

  • @PARTYLINECHICAGO Don't need to! ;)

  • @PARTYLINECHICAGO O.A.F. Records ....... On A Friday Records........recorded in the music room at Abingdon School!

  • @klootme yes, but please upload rest. whole world is waiting

  • Do you work for pitchfork? did you know pitchfork posted this, do own these songs. I would check sources. someone might get real pissed. like thom.

  • @PARTYLINECHICAGO Pitchfork have no copyright on this tape. O.A.F. records do. Seems like Pitchfork are fine with my postings.

  • Thank you so much! Please to post more demos!!!

  • Nice post. Interestingly weird sound that has hints of Radiohead, U2, The Smiths, and that E Street Band brass ... whoa. Is that Clarence Clemons? ;)

  • Thank you for uploading this! It would be fantastic if you had more to share. Thanks!

  • Why can't you upload more song ?

  • MOAR

  • Comment removed

  • Will add more if anyone is *interested*? Umm...the internet is gonna go CRAZY over these-post! post!

  • Am I right in thinking Thom would have only been 18 when this was recorded?!

  • @johnferguson1989 Yes, Lower and Upper Sixth form...so 17 & 18........hence no Jonny!

  • @tyciu Actually Thom and Colin were 16 going on 17 ....Ed and Phil are a year older. Thom, Colin and Raz were in Lower 6th. Ed and Phil in upper 6th. My husband was in Thom's year.

  • Comment removed

  • Anyone know who plays the sax?

  • @tryh10 the saxophonist was Raz Peterson......also from the same school.

  • Post MOAR!!!!!!! prease!!! xD

  • How many more of these are there?!

  • This is wild, I really like it! How did you get hold of this demo tape in the first place?

  • this totally DESTROYS. I hear REM/U2 in there but it fuckin rocks!

  • @filhodabeira Listen to the other song from the tape that I have uploaded. They were actually very keen on The Waterboys hence the sax. They were fans of U2, can't deny that influence but art begins in imitation and ends in innovation.

  • REM!?

  • @EliseoRock18 my thoughts exactly..haha

  • there is another new song "everybody knows" from this tape which is also really cool!! these are nice quality early recordings. thanks.

  • i think i have heard that drums in another song ..

  • @lookmisvideos where i end you begin?

  • @errorthx1138 Not even close haha, that song uses two snare drums. Similar tempo though.
