like every paper i ever did in school was on legalizing marijuana so i've researched it so much and i honestly don't see why it's still illegal. tobacco and alcohol causes dependency, cancers, etc. and they're still legal. in words of katt williams as well "asprin's perfectly legal but if you take 13 of them it'll be your last headache." i know it's a lot more than your friend but my sister was caught with a pound in her trunk and got a night in jail and 3 years unsupervised probation.

You go see the original copy of the DoI and it is actually made from hemp paper. The fact is weed is proven to be a gateway to harder drugs because people have to get it in the same way as they would smack or crack. Legalize it and it'd be cheaper (crime would go down because less people would steal for it), it would reduce the amount of people who pass on to harder drugs, the government could monitor it, they could tax it and make a ton.
And there's no physical addiction, its proven to be less harmful than alcohol and that's legal. I dont see the logic of it being illegal.

@thedarkangelXxXx it depends on what you mean by help. from the research that i have done over the years for my papers in school on it, it does help people going through chemotherapy because they don't have much of an appetite, they get nausea, etc. and there is a drug that doctors give patients, but it doesn't respond to all people, but THC in weed pretty much triggers anyone's appetite which is why there is medical marijuana legal in sixteen states and DC.

I support the legalization of weed! And yes I am a regular smoker so I guess by civilized standards I am a "Pot Head:". But last but not least, my reason for thinking it should be legal is.......
In my opinion if weed were legal then I too support the idea that the recession would start coming to a end, and also on that note the government would not be wasting anymore tax payers money to fund prison or jail sentences for such "PETTY" offenses!

I really hope marijuana will be legal one day because yes there are so many people that have said there are really no bad side affects and it would realy help the economy. But at the same time I have listened to a podcast called 'planet money' that explains why it is difficult to legalize it. like every paper i ever did in school was on legalizing marijuana so i've researched it so much and i honestly don't see why it's still illegal. tobacco and alcohol causes dependency, cancers, etc. and they're still legal. in words of katt williams as well "asprin's perfectly legal but if you take 13 of them it'll be your last headache." i know it's a lot more than your friend but my sister was caught with a pound in her trunk and got a night in jail and 3 years unsupervised probation.

Sad thing is, Weed was grown for rope and of course paper. Constitution, Deceleration of Independence, you know the big ass laws and shit. They were made from hemp paper. You go see the original copy of the DoI and it is actually made from hemp paper. It was made illegal because of the shortage and the government needed it to make their fancy paper so they banned it pretty much. Now i'm guessing at this point but I think someone found out if you smoke hemp or ingest it, there are some effects.

The fact is weed is proven to be a gateway to harder drugs because people have to get it in the same way as they would smack or crack. Legalize it and it'd be cheaper (crime would go down because less people would steal for it), it would reduce the amount of people who pass on to harder drugs, the government could monitor it, they could tax it and make a ton.
And there's no physical addiction, its proven to be less harmful than alcohol and that's legal. I dont see the logic of it being illegal.

I think it might as well be legalised, the law is redundant. Everyone I know literally smokes from time to time, its normal here. If you smoke it the right way the poison intake can be minimised significantly. You cant even overdose.

He constructed a car of resin stiffened hemp fiber, and even ran the car on ethanol made from hemp. It can be used for SO much stuff. Back in the day I think like mid 1700's you could get arrested for NOT growing it! I'm serious look it up. Cops would literally arrest you for not growing it & you could pay your taxes with it.

Another fun fact; marijuana was made illegal because the clothing made of cannabis plants is softer and longer lasting than ones made with cotton. The cotton growers lobbied to have the stuff made illegal. It was only in the 40s and 50s that the government started trying to scare people with false claims that about "Reefer Madness". If they legalize it now, the government loses all that income from fines.

@thedarkangelXxXx it depends on what you mean by help. from the research that i have done over the years for my papers in school on it, it does help people going through chemotherapy because they don't have much of an appetite, they get nausea, etc. and there is a drug that doctors give patients, but it doesn't respond to all people, but THC in weed pretty much triggers anyone's appetite which is why there is medical marijuana legal in sixteen states and DC.

weed is illegal because if it was legal we would only produce enough goods and services to buy our next pound of weed. And even though weed is the least dangerous of drugs it does have staggering long term side effects like basically rewriting large portions of the way your brain works to try and compensate for you being high all the time. but ritalin is more dangerous to give people and they shovel that down kids throats because they turn into producing machines until they kill themselves.
