Dear Daniel, You were, are and will be one of the most fragil soul in this world.
You wrote so many beautifull songs that turned this world into a more pleasant place to be.
I would like to ask you something, last year a long friend of us died "Mark Linkous" he was like you in a different way, could you please write a song about that poor little thing that have left us to soon.
Does anyone who has commented here, ever picked up an instrument, and tried to actually play it, or try to actually sing? I think this fellah, (yeah I know his whole story) would be better suited as a song writer, and not a performer. Because, credit for his performances is kinda like a slap in the face to people who spend years honing their craft. And I am sure that the backlash I get from this comment, will most likely be from people.......ahhhh forget it.....this sucks total ass. Seriously...
@InNominus The thing that makes him enjoyable to watch is the realness that he exudes when he does these songs. And he's probably one of the worst musicians, but as a performer and a songwriter he's great. I know a lot of musicians who learn their instruments and can play amazing, but cannot write a song. But when I go to see someone perform, I like to see them give off that real feeling. And Daniel does that beautifully.
@dylanfan1969 Ok finally someone who can explain it....THANK YOU!!!! Sorry pal, I just hate getting the bullshit from people who try too fucking hard to be "different".
@InNominus,i dont see this a slap in the face to more acomplished musicians, what this shows is that you dont need to be a musical wizard to write amazing songs! And i would rather have the songs of daniel, rather than a bunch of musos who can play it all,but cant put a half decent tune together if it killed them.Performance wise how is it bad?
Some see music as craft, as a finished product. A creative way to make sound interesting.
Some see music as way to express oneself. Not a sport practice.
It isn't black or white, and others fall in different areas of the spectrum. For example, Daniel Johnston, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Ian Curtis, are all probably far on the 'expressing side', while jam bands like Phish or Grateful Dead are more on the 'performing' side.
hes older now cut him some slack man , not to mention he is heavily medicated , it sounds better than when he himself plays the guitar n sings....its nice to compare the two n how theyve changed , plus you think daniel listens to bands like third eye blind? u also gotta consider hes tryin to get people to hear his music i dont think the radio would play to many of his under-produced songs not that they arnt gold
its weird, he wrote this amazing music ages ago and no one had ever heard it till recent years. Maybe it was Kurt Cobain who helped, anyway, this guy is my hero
i gonna try to mix this version up with the original piano version, and maybe sprinkle in some of the live vocals from concerts shows, just because the guitar in this one is so good, but the beginning of verse two is slightly obscured under the guitar
Beautiful, He looks great there
Keep it up Daniel

Look at 53 seconds, he starts to get a smile. Maybe it reminds him of when he wrote this. No matter what, it's nice to see him smile.

Dumbass, he says "could" "should" and "would" in the song at the end of that line.
