  • If you are evil enough to start the KKK, you are evil enough to dump your crimes on somebody else's doorstep. Democrats are the masters of projection.

  • Just as a side note, Strom Thurmond integrated his staff after switching parties, and had at least one bi-racial daughter. I wouldn't call him a racists as much as he was a political opportunist.

  • It doesn't matter what party you choose to vote for, you can't dispute history. I learned quite a bit from both of the videos posted. Thank you very much.

  • I am mirroring both videos on my channel.

  • @GamerRamon, learn to spell before making ignorant comments

  • @ddactor1 Its a social board grammer and spelling are not that important. All that is important is getting your point across.

  • This video was recommended in a tweet and I am so glad I clicked on this. Growing up in the South, I've heard the "Democrats became Republicans in the post-Civil Rights" mantra all my life. THANK YOU for posting this.

  • I love the amount of information you researched to put these videos together. I would love to see a follow up to these on the modern plantation being the welfare state and how that is perpetuated by the Democrats.

As well, you are a public speaker, I would love to have you narrate these videos, it would bring them more to life than the banjo music! And would work as better marketing materials for you.

  • (cont.2) The point is, while these settled guys may not have felt the change, the generations of the future certainly did--because they were the ones ultimately shaping it. I actually have a history textbook with a wonderful table of election demographics over the years...you can see a very interesting switch over a period of time ("Democrat-types" voting Republican, and "Republican-types" voting Democrat). It's very interesting to see the numbers.

Sorry for the multiple posts, by the way :)

  • (cont.) 1964 may have marked a turning point after which the parties began switching, though. From this, many realized this within a couple of decades. Why did they stay Democrats? Well, when you've grown up under one party your whole life, it is pretty difficult to make the switch; that is, they continued to represent was one gone, but they didn't understand because changing such a rooted belief is, again, difficult. You can show even now that Congress isn't always in tune with public opinion.

  • they continued to represent the one that was gone.* Sorry about that, and if some other things are unclear. I had to shorten these things like crazy because of the word limit on here...

  • Very interesting...the problem is, only 11 out of the 50 states were represented by anyone in this, and the overwhelming majority of those states currently vote Republican today. Does this demonstrate that 1964 was not a year in which allegedly everything flipped over? Sure, but anyone who thinks politics could have changed that quickly overnight obviously needs to learn about the realities of life and human change.

  • Thank you!
