  • Love the video! My grandson is 4 and he always wants to watch train videos! Thank you!

  • video program name?,

  • @nicolaj0154 I don't understand the question. The name of this snippet is as labeled.

  • @rwundrock sorry, i was asking about whats the program name of the video editing software?,

  • @nicolaj0154 I use Pinnacle Studio 12 editing software. The video on this piece is average. I shot it with a Canon Powershot still camera on "video" mode.

  • lotsa time lotsa money

  • What is the name to this song??? This song sounds so much like it was made for model railroad video clips its not even funny! LoL Great video of a great layout...

  • @trainsbybob

The stuff is production music included with my video editing program. If you peruse YouTube you'll hear it on other videos.

  • This video has both kinds of music. Country AND Western! Yeehaw.

  • One of the best video layouts I've seen, except for a few distractions, such as a clock in the middle of your mountains and some equipment in the foreground. Most of your background scenes fit the decorum of the layout; mountains, rocks, trees, etc., which is so often overlooked -- except at the end of the ride, which is acceptable. I've seen excellent layouts, but the videos which depict various settings are filled with venetian blinds and cupboards and duct tape, cameras, boxes, and the like.

  • A bit of self-criticism...I feel this was only a fair video made to look good by Bruce Chubb's superb layout.

I didn't even use a camcorder to record it. I used a small still camera in the "video" mode.

  • why is it such a famous layout

  • Bruce Chubb has been a model railroad electronics innovator for decades. Besides designing an open architecture electronics system, he also did considerable research so that his layout was as realistic as possible.

It is also HUGE! About 2900 sq. feet on three levels.

  • probably the most famous model railroad layout of all time....awesome

  • That could well be. If so, it would be because Bruce's contributions to the hobby (C/MRI and so many others) were so important to it's development and sense of "self." IMO anyway.

The "V&O," and the "Gorre and Daphetid" would have to be on that very short list too. :D

  • Wha? Are thoes search-light signals with muilti-color LEDs? Do they have all 3 colors? Very clever!! :-D

  • I forgot to ask, does anyone know what the name of the piece of music being played is? THanks in advance.

  • It's production music that came with my video editing software.

  • OK, thanks.

  • It's so very nice to see this model railroad in action. And you've provided me with inspiration for my own model railroad project, I thank you.

  • sehr interessante Eisenbahn und gute Musik!

  • Danke!

  • Did he change the layout? I remember reading about it in the book "How to operate your model railroad". The equipment is now SP and Fillmore is not the terminous.

  • This is a new layout. He built a new house 10-12 years ago. He excavated under the garage to get another 700 sq. feet. The basement is bigger than his first floor. The new layout's approximately 2900 sq. feet. He has many parts of the old layout in the new.

  • Thank you! After years of reading about the Dr. Chubb's Sunset Valley, I'm now able to see it "in motion."
