  • if you like cooking check out this blog: tinyredkitchen.blogspot.com

  • wala akong hilig sa pagluluto. pero in fairness nagustuhan ko naman ang video na ito.

  • Looks amazingly healthy and delicious. Thanks for sharing your great recipe! :)

  • For most people it is just a matter of getting money off daily necessities like food but what if you want a smart phone or television? Well you can get great discounts if you know what I know and show on my channel.

  • The best method of losing weight - first-focus.ru/tds/diet.php This is checked!!!

  • Awesome! I love this recipe and I will certainly share this video on my gluten free web site, thank you Ani! The fact that it's raw is certainly a bonus!

    TheGourmetConfession

  • There are lots of people who enjoy cooking. I myself like fast food. Easy. Done Deal and quick. Clean, no need to wash dishes. No need to clean up. No need to smell the house.

  • OMG IVE GOT TO SHARE THIS WITH Yall!! I was just daring my boyfriend who's still following the Standard American Diet that I would find a way someway somehow to make the most delicious apple pie ever using solely RAW food. I just started my journey and just decided that I will be going raw little by little as of today. HE was just telling me about his fav treat= APPLE PIE...and I was like that might be a challenge but I will find a way...and WHAT DO I STUMBLE UPON? THIS VIDEO!!! A SIGN from GOD!

  • Tell me how to eat and to submit on a table this pie?

As I understand it can`t be cut on a pieces, so I have to make a personal portions?

  • @twat4556, so how do you keep your bowels moving smoothly and how do you get your fat that your brain needs?

  • It's sounds very interesting, but I'm not a spanish talker and I can't understand everything, only some parts of the conversation and explanation. I'm very interested in organic food (but with people who take it seriously). I'd need subttitles, in spanish (I'm from Basque Country, North East of spain), or if it is not possible, in english, please.

  • This looks Awesome! I'm pretty excited to make this! I'm avoiding dairy, gluten and refined sugars and I LOVE DESSERT! Thank you!!!! Another great use for local Washington Apples! ;)

  • This pie was so awesome. It's better if it sets over night. We still need butter in our system too, please don't forget that.

  • @alicatr2 we do not need the curdled milk of another species. Please do not tell people we need it.

  • While this pie may not have a lot of the "bad" stuff we are use to, the dates and almonds put the sugar and fat WAY over the top. More fat than a regular pie and more sugar (yes, fruit sugar is still sugar) than soda pop. Still yummy though.

  • @InvisiMan2006 Im not sure what i think about all the nuts, but its definately better to use fruit instead of sugar.

  • im gonna make this... woohoo!!

  • I made this pie last week, and I can tell you, it is amazing! It tastes just as good (if not better) than conventional apple pie, and it leaves a clean feeling in my body. Luv it! <3

  • Yo what's up Ani,

thanks for your consistent work and giving to the world. I appreciate you never gave up on your purpose, you are making a difference in peoples families, health, relationships, and tastebuds! I'm making this recipe in the morning for my cousins family, and I already know the reaction I'm gonna get. I've made this apple gold piece of art before... thanks for making it simple and environmentally freindly too. OH.. ! I also made your almond nori rolls. THE BEST! You're beautiful.

  • That looks amazing. :-) Yeah everytime I eat cooked processed pies (and desserts in general) I feel sick to my stomach and they don't even taste good to me anymore but I know this will be good.

  • I made a variation of this for the first time today. It turned out great! The blended orange/date syrup is brilliant. The only thing I did different was to use a sunflower seed/raisin crust instead of the almonds (I didn't have time for the soaking required). Also, I chopped the apples much smaller in the food processor instead of the larger slices shown. I also omitted the whole raisins due to so many in the crust. My parents and I love this pie!

  • cool

  • Yay! I'm literally going to the store tomorrow and I'm trying this. I'm so excited! lol

  • Yum, that looks so good! Will definately give it a go!

  • i just tried this on my meat and potatoe eating family and they loved it. I must admit it was delicious! :) A+ Ani Phyo

  • i want ani phyo to be my wife

  • nothing but organic food and hott sex all day!

  • lmfao!

  • @Wolvve rofl

  • I really love this video, i am starting my raw food journey and this recipe is helping me to reach my goal of being 100% raw. Thank you , i will try this myself. It looks delicious!

  • I get the distinct feeling that there is a kind of smugness that goes along with people who live this lifestyle.

  • Bingo! I couldn't have put it better.

  • I'm just starting raw and I've noticed the opposite... granted there are pompous people in EVERY walk of life if you look for them.

I've never met a nicer group of people than the raw foodists that are helping me get started.

  • Yeah, I kinda get that too. First, everyones cool. Then, you're only cool if you don't eat meat. Then you're only cool if you don't use animals. Then you're only cool if you only eat raw stuff. What next? ( btw, i'm a vegan)

  • I think your first problem is worrying about what's cool or what people think is cool. If it works for you, Cool!

  • i think you're right. but you'd feel it too if you tried it. its a huge acheivement!

  • excellent demo ani this is delish i try it on my guests at dinner parties thanks sooo much

  • can you put all of ur vlog on closed caption?

  • We are a Vegan couple who want to go 100% raw. Bless you for your wonderful work. Raw is the way to be. Concious food for concious people. You are what you eat!

  • I've been doing Raw- not even 100% raw for the past 2 weeks and I feel AMAZING. For those of you who think a low carb diet is the only diet that works for you, think again. I used to be so scared to eat fruit cuz of the "high sugar", but on raw, I am losing weight and I eat lots of fruits, vegetables, and nuts now. So I know first hand that fruit sugar is not causing me to gain weight. It's natural sugar, and I have been missing out all these years doing atkins and south beach etc.- no more!

  • Oh my goodness-I can't believe it's raw!

  • No sexual enhancement product can even compete with RAW FOOD

  • SIGN ME UP!!!!

  • Natural, healthy , all natural food is the secret to life:)

  • I'm in love:)

  • Raw is pure.

  • Si raw es Pura!

  • i've been on raw food for about a week (with two days 50/50). lost 4.5 inches!

    i'm a believer.

raw food, at least more incorporation, can totally help you lose weight.

  • Needmorewater,

Love handles don't go away without movements that lift your thighs at LEAST to 90 degrees--front,back and side. Hurdling, running in place with really high knee lift, TaeBo, etc. COMBINED with your raw diet (Congratulations, by the way!).

  • Love the book!!

  • god shes amazing i luv her

  • So tell me, can on eREALLY eat this like every day, and lose weight? I think even the raw food diet has it's "junk food" and "unhealhty" candy that makes you gain or not lose weight. So much nuts, dates and other stuff. Lose wight? naaw.. I'm a month 100% raw, I have'nt lost any weight :(

  • well do you even run?

  • yes, I run. But I have horrible stubborn lovehandles, I can't get rid of them.. Any tips? Can raw food and training make them smaller? Or do I have to operate.. :(

  • if u lose weight too fast its not good news...

anyways yes a raw vegan diet and some exercise will make you look and feel great..its also an enviromental, social and ethical choice

    inform yourself

  • Ahhh this is so good! Try it people it's so tasty!

  • Everybody who likes to eat and make Raw Food: please make this apple pie!!!

  • It was amazing! So easy to make...and really it's mostly just fruit. Dates are pretty high in sugar, but compare this to a butter and sugar filled apple pie! It was so refreshing and I told feel like sleeping after. Raw veganism rocks!

  • I'm a gal but I would gladly marry her! She's very beautiful and talented. I'm raw vegan too.

  • OK, so the food is amazing, we know that...but SHE is so beautiful...omg...I want a wife like her!!!!!! shiny with health!

  • Added a smidge of raw honey to the crust & apples...mmm mmm good...take that, Campbells!

  • I've made this a couple of times. Oh my holy Shakti. It is THE tastiest thing IN the world. It made me swoon!

  • sooooooooooooooo goooooood

  • ANY your so Beautiful! I went to your site, but you don't have any affiliate programs and I'd LOVE to market you as a resource on my blog in my profile - I dont want to get banned for spamming, so u just click the blue name above! Thanks ANI, you inspired me to go Raw despite typical College student diets!

  • Ani is so sweet! She's adorable and so soft-spoken...

    And this recipe ROCKS!! Hahaha.

  • She's my hero , Sure change my way of eating , Love her recipe , yumm they are really really good , I love you AMI , You've open my eyes my mind , Thank for this priceless video .

  • I just made this and I am blown away!! This is delicious!!~

  • what if you dont have kids and you are looking for fast/easy/healthy/ raw meals! is this the book for me!???

  • Hi Ani- This recipe looks amazing! I'm going to try and make it when I go home for Thanksgiving! I just started the raw food lifestyle and I feel amazing! I have so much energy now, get a much more restful sleep, and

my skin is brightening up as well. Thank you so much for sharing your magically wonderful nutritious recipes!

  • it shouldn't crumble. make sure to press the crust firmly into pan. and...give this a try. it's better than cooked pie, promise! yummmy

  • hi Ani Could i use green or gala organic apples?would i have to alter your rescipe?

  • But i guess its healthy :) keep it up....

  • hmmm..i dont think taste will be as good as "REAL" apple pie

  • But will it make you FEEL better than "REAL" apple pie. After all isn't that what it's all about?

  • Yes, it is about how you feel. If you think "real baked apple pie" makes you feel better you have never tried a raw food vegan diet for an extended period of time. Look up the movie Simply Raw. I have cured my asthma, obtained clear skin, and saved my overall health on an %80 raw food diet. I feel better then ever. THE FEELING OF PERFECT HEALTH CAN NEVER EQUAL THE FEELING OF A WARM SWEET DESSERT.

  • Ani, how do you get a slice out of the dish without it all just crumbling?

  • How do the apples not turn all brown? Was that mentioned?

  • the acid from the orange just like lemen juice keeps it from truning.lasts 5 days

  • xhardcorexlol - i like to use Medjool dates because they are semi soft and easy to pit and use.

  • How many calories in this pie?

  • wow i cant wait to try this! for real. im not a mom...im only 18 but im vegan and im a big fan of raw cooking.

what kind of dates did you use for this?

  • please can someone re-write the recipie here? i dont understand some of the ingredients.

    Thanx

    Alfredo

  • It is apple season so I bought a bunch today and I'm trying this tonight! Can't wait!

  • the girl in the middle has a rachael ray thing going on lol

  • I'm buying your book Ani, it looks absolutely wonderful

  • i made this and...ended up eating the whole pie by myself. in two days. never again.

  • no worries, it's all good for you!!!

    nutrient dense super food

    power on!

    ani

  • Raw food pwns face! :)

  • Is this a low-carb dessert? It looks delicious!

  • km1278: No, this is not really a low-carb dessert. It is pretty much devoid of complex carbs, but the amount of simple carbs (sugars) are quite high.

That is one thing I didn't like about this video. The fact that Ani stated the recipe is "sugar free". Huh? Apples, raisins, oranges and especially dates are full of sugars. Just because they are naturally occurring doesn't mean they can be consumed will full liberty.

  • Very good point!! . . . but I think I have to give it a try!

  • i think is better to bave this pie then let your kids to have 5 cokes whihc contain 12 teaspoons of simple processed surger per bottle in it.

  • definately is a healthy and nutricious treat, but it is so rich we dont need very much of it. I want to just learn to enjoy this one treat, one serving, and let go of the idea of wanting more more more. When we like a food we get emotionally attached to it thats why we end up eating too much of it, we don´t feel satisfied as our emotions will never be satisfied with just one more spoonful.

  • Actually I dealt with hypolglycemia for years and when I eat raw, I eat tons of fruit and as long as it's fruit sugars, I don't get any symptoms. Of course I also eat almonds, avocadoes and greens, not just fruit.

Natural plant sugars the body knows how to deal with, opposed to the processed kind.

  • I don't think it's humanly possible to overeat on a raw diet. Even though this recipe might be full of fruit doesn't mean it's bad for u coz it has "sugar". Sugar is only bad for you when it isn't naturally occuring. Sugar in fruit, on the other hand? Eat as much as you want.

  • i wish it was cost free too

  • LOL november 13th my birthday

  • lmao

  • wow ani you are a beautiful and intelligent woman are you korean american? anyway this apple pie might have more calories than the commercial one but surely packed with so many nutrients and guilt free! just have to be careful not to have too much! XD

  • So happy that you were on TV! Love your book and videos!

  • noob

  • but almonds and dates are good calories as opposed to manufactured and processed pie crust which has butter and fatty things right?

  • wow! looks so good

  • well you are getting even more calories in this as opposed to regular apple pie.. all those almonds and dates can really add up...

  • Actually not really, beacuse remember your not eating the whole pie (atleast I would hope not). Also its a more natural sweetner as compared to artifical bleached sugar, so either way its healthier.

  • mhmm regular apple pie crust is probably 130 calories a piece? and this date and almond crust is probably around 250.. keep in mind 10 almonds is 100 calories and one date is 25 calories.. therefore its could be even more..

  • I think Stuhletto is right about the calories, but as far as health wise goes its far better for you. White sugar is just bad.

  • Not everyone has a problem with weight they just want to eat nutritious food, also if you are on a raw food diet then it can be hard to get enough calories.

  • I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that these people are calling it a guilt free indulgence thing, but you can gain weight eating nuts and dried fruits as they are very calorically dense, sure they are more nutritious and healthy, but from a calorie and fat standpoint, they aren't the best. And when people think that something is "guilt free" or "healthy", they tend to eat more of it.. but your really taking in more calories than regular apple pie. I just wanted to clarify that.

  • Absolutely. You can put on bad weight and get too many calories eating raw.

I'm an omnivore that just incorporates raw ideas into my diet.

2 things I want to share (not for arguments sake, just for the info).

    1. The easiest way to lose weight for an average joe like me is to cut out refined processed starches like bread, pasta, pastry, biscuits, cakes, even white rice, etc etc.

  • 2.When I have more raw and less refined starches, I don't just lose weight, but my skin tightens and feels different around my face. I am not bloated and cause I'm getting actually more nutrition, after about 1 or 2 weeks I feel less hungry all the time as my blood sugars even.

  • Trust me, I know from experience. I lapse back into crap eating for a weak or two every few months as I'm still "into" that fuller than full/binge fealing sometimes, and I notive the real negative effects very fast (about 5 days).

Look, be skeptical, its really healthy, hell I'm only 1 of about 40 people on "give it to me raw" (raw food community site) that identify as meat eaters. Most are raw vegans.

  • So It doesn't have to be vegan. P.S. I cook my meat. Essentially raw principles are getting me to be more rounded and healthy. You don't have to get extreme.

You can get too many calories with raw, but I bet you find it harder. Better food just gets you working better in all ways. It's amazing to watch.

  • well said

    no need for extremes

    just enjoy good food

eat what makes you feel good and keeps you healthy

do the best you can each day

    forgive

    and be happy

    ani

  • Sorry.. unless you are eating an unbalanced diet of only raw fruits and vegetables.. excluding nuts, seeds, and grains on a raw food diet.. it is VERY easy to get enough calories.. my sister gained weight eating a raw food diet because she was eating nuts to get her protein which are high in fat and calories.

  • ok good point, it does sound like they are trying to pass it off as a low calorie alternative to standard deserts, which is miss representing it because Ani said something about losing weight. If I went on a raw food diet though, I don't think I would want to eat nothing but nuts, I think I would go nuts if I did that.

  • Thank you.. and yeah well when your eating all raw, your only real fat and protein source is nuts, legumes, and seeds =S

  • You need balance in raw food not to go deficient or under/over weight. If your sister got fat on a raw food diet then I presume she ate nothing but nuts and/or had a very slow metabolism that needed to get back to balance. The difference is that everything you eat raw DOES nourish your body, opposed to dead food. And if you stick to raw soon enough you should naturally develop a taste for what your body needs and loose the emotional cravings. Which is why almost anything is allowed at the start.

  • These raw recipes look ok but I'm such a finicky eater I'd never try them lol I hate dates and raisins and cranberries. Maybe next time she could make a raw chocolate cream pie? That would be awesome :D

  • YOU HATE DATES??? ARE YOU MAD???

  • i know! I just bought some for the first time (only time I had them were when I ate larabars) and I am in love. It's pretty high in sugar though so I try not to eat more than 5~6 dates.

  • how would it taste if it was baked?

  • probably okay, but you'd loose the benefits of the raw nutrients and enzymes. plus you'd have to wait much longer before you could eat it!

    :)

    ani

  • I made the crust out of pecans. For an exotic taste.. I used cardamon instead of the cinnamon...and I mixed in vanilla bean seeds with the apples. Very Yummy..!

  • Looks good, I love stuff like this.

  • yum-o

  • How about the food combination? Almond doesn't combine with fruit. With fruit, it said "eat it alone or leave it alone".

  • food combining was a fad in the 80's. it's been disproven for almost 20 years.

  • that's referring to the amino acid profile, that you need to combine rice/beans to get a complete protein, which is untrue. but if you have poor digestion, food combining principles like no meat & fruit together absolutely work. That hasn't been proven or disproven. it's all about more efficient digestion.

  • Raw food combines better than cooked. It has the appropriate digestive enzymes built in, and an appropriate amount of water. Also, when you soak nuts, they start pre-digesting, and they can be eaten with fruit.

  • i hope you're right...

  • yes sure, in an ideal world it's not the perfect food combining. i don't worry so much. i figure it's still better than eating butter, white flour, and sugar overall, yes?

however, the further along the raw path we are the more sensitive we become to foods and combining. so do what's right for you please.

    :)

    ani

  • Inspirational. Looking forward to trying this and getting your cookbook too. Thank you!

  • Do you have a raw pie recipe that has a replacement for Almonds...unfortunately I'm allergic to Almonds and all Tree nuts and so is my son...but we both want to make a raw pie. ne1, please help if you can. thx.

  • Sorry, I meant aniphyo or ne1 (anyone) please help...thank you.

  • if you can use walnuts, they are a great substitute. they make a crust that tastes just like a pastry. they may be a tree nut though. maybe try dry sunflower seeds.

  • Thank you very much for your help. I'll try dry Sunflower Seeds.

  • I just made one of these and the recipe called for walnuts. (It was simpler than this one.) I also wonder if hazelnuts would work, if you can eat those.

  • If you have issues with most nuts I would suggest skipping the crust and making it more like a cobbler or crisp and using some raw granola for the crunch. I have seen similar pies made with sunflower seeds as well.

  • you also might want to try ground sesame seeds

  • thanks all for jumping in to help cecillbill on the almond issue. all great recommendations too! you guys RAWk!

    ani

  • Me too I just made this today and it's really great! Unfortunately, I think I did overdo it with the cinnamon, but other than that it's amazing =)

  • Great vid, I must try this.

  • i just made this.. and im eating a slice now, the crust tastes really good, but i think i put to much cinnamon in the filling... warning to any one going to cook this: DONT over do it with the cinnamon

  • this is hott

  • No. This is a non-cooked pie. So it has not been heated up.

  • lol, i wasnt being literal. but its good to make sure we are all on the same page.

  • I did it on purpose. I just wanted to see what you would reply. :)

  • You saved my life. FINALLY something raw & healthy that my 4 yr old will eat & he actually considers it dessert. So delicious!

  • Marvellous woman! But some of these sexist jerks' comments should be deleted!

  • This looks so great I am going home to try it tonight! I adore your book all of your recipes are quick, easy and super delicious. Thank you!

  • Can't you have your own show at foodnetwork? There is a need for a good healthy raw food show!

  • I'll be running to buy your book so fast that I'll probably break a leg! Very interesting and easy.

  • Great appearance -- thanks for posting the vid. I love the book!!!

  • uh........creepy

  • of course, doesn't everyone?

    ani
