Even BG macaws in Australia run about $8,000 American. If you are thinking about any S. American bird, it will cost a fortune in Australia. I doubt that you could acquire a Hy for less than $30,000 IF you could even find one. Australia is one of the most strict countries in the world when it comes to importing birds. Just thought you should know. However, you can get a cockatoo for a song.
here m8 do u have msn could i talk to you sometime im thinking about getting a hyacinth macaw i have never had any birds before but falling in love with macaws and that is the type i want i mean when i immagrate to australia in 4 years so i want to learn as much as possible just now about them
you misunderstand i am going to get the parrot when i am in australia just want to start prepearing myself just now so i dont just go out buy a parrot and cant care properly for it i want to get knollage about it before so i no what to do
if they are going to be your fisrt bird i suggest you get something smaller, macaws have the intelligence of a 5 year old child, this might be overwhelming if you have never had any experience before. they need alot of stimulation
I love those birds. Macaws are my most favorite birds in the world. And those are darling birds you got there.

I've had most of them for 6 years. I am crazy about macaws, but have a grey, an amazon and a Quaker too.

You won't be allowed to take birds into Australia. They have very strict guidelines. No birds will come in.
