I don't think people understand the real purpose of a capo. I don't know how many times I've had people refer to it as a "cheaters tool," not realizing that it actually changes the tone of the chords you're playing, depending on what chord shape you wanna use for that matter. Or if you're like me and you have tendonitis in both of your forearms, playing bar-chords for too long can really become painful and do further damage.
i dont think that there is an end to this mans tallents. he sure is one of the best pure guitarist i have ever heard, and now he flat picks also, like whats next? does he write lyrics, and sing too?
wish i was your kid i would steal your instruments you would find them in my room all the time and be like god dammit stop it and then id play some amazing shit after listening to you all day and you would be like ok keep it =P
Hi, great musicianship and multi-tracking. Really enjoyed this version of a "classic". Being a keyboardist, I didn't realize that a capo was such a treasured specialty item. LOL. I learn something every day!
i agree with hanz who cares about the capo. You are a very talented dude; keep it going. Hell, they even have resonator capos: who knows what you could accomplish with that.
I know, it really doesn´t matter... Someone once asked a pro mandolin player if it was ok to use a capo, and he replied "sure, but everyone will laugh at you" :)
I am with Bernd it has been way to long since your last post however it was worth the wait
Just love to hear a post from you it is always something that touches the heart even if it is a nursery rhyme no matter what you touch it is gold
once more thank you for the post and please dont be so long on getting another great masterpiece out real, musicians like yourself are to far and few in between
By the way, I stumbled upon a comment you made a couple months ago concerning "Canadee-IO". You indicated that you were trying to figure out Nic Jones' instrumental arrangement. If you're still interested, there's a book published called "English Folk Guitar" by Michael Raven that contains tab of Nic's arrangement.
Framfört med bravur, som vanligt! Kul att se så många av gitarrmästarna på youtube bidra till communityt genom att kommentera varandras videos osv. I hope to join you guys one day!
Ooh, that's the best reason for beeing absent on YT. I have three boys but they're no babies any more - and that helps getting some time back. Congratulation, I hope all is well and you get enough sleep at night ;-)

How is that Tanglewood mandolin? I'm considering buying their a-style solid mahogany (TMAS). Have you tried it?

Do you do your own audio mastering? Because that's some clean audio playback, very clean at that.

This is great! Why not make an album with bluegrass-versions of children's song?
