Just to clear things out here, this is a commercial for a Dutch insurance company called Apeldoorn. This is a pretty old commercial, and I'm seeing a lot of comments regarding Final Destination 5, this commercial is older than that...

So many people feel the need to state "facts" about acupuncture here that are not only wrong, but entirely unbased. No acupuncturist in the world would put that many needles into one body. EVER. This is not a treatment for anything. Also, the needles do not "cut off nerves" nor would they impale your heart (or are you missing your sternum?). The next person that says something of this sort will get a swift kick in their Hui Yin. (A few deserving people will get that.)

I assume it's because of some sort of corruption in the medical industry so people mistrust them. But it's also dangerous to change to something that might even be harmful. like not vaccinating children or taking some sort of wonder-medicine if you have a serious disease and then die because it doesn't work, but a regular treatment'd have saved you

I don't know why you talk about plants, when i was talking about needles ;D. Different people have different opinions. but science doesn't. you may have the opinion that jumping off a cliff wont kill you, but gravity proves you otherwise. I'm not ill so i don't need any treatment atm. what i do is raising awareness.

Well the difference between the traditional chinese "vital force" and that what doctors display is that doctors display things like heart pressure, biochemical household and so on. @pedrohdcorrea Well, sure that could happen, but in this case it's just unfortunate, since heart operations are at least scientific and have some sort of value to improve life conditions. while acupuncture besides placebo has a lot of risks too, such as infection through the needles, punctuation of lungs and other organs. And well it seems more like you haven't really informed yourself about acupuncture. again read about it's real effects -> placebo
