  • Hi, I saw your video oddly through some third party download site which had me download some .flv file... anyways...I wanted to ask you if the backlight is flourescent or LED? I am not sure what to assume for a device from 2008? Thank you for hacking the n800 apart for the rest of us!

  • PS: thanx :D

I needed this to learn how to take out the faceplate to replace the screen protector

  • @Sinisterene You still own one of these? Nice work! I've still got one too :D They're awesome!

  • @OldTimeyJunk There are a lot of N8x0s still running around. Perhaps one day someone will manage to get a fully free kernel to work on it. I'm not counting on Nokia though.

  • @MaGaO Yeah, too bad Ubuntu doesn't work properly on it (Sound is broke) and Angstrom is still buggy and I can never see it finishing development, but that's not there fault (too many damn phones on the market).

  • Gracias a ti, he podido arreglar mi N800, que llevaba días sin prender, y como vivo en la ciudad de México aquí no hay donde los reparen, así que ya estaba a punto de tirarlo, gracias en verdad.

Thank you, I could fix my N800, which took days without turn on, I'm Mexican and here are no repair, so I was about to throw it away, thank you so much.

P.D. Sorry for my english,I'm student and I don't speak very well english.

  • i dont get it you cant even see the speakers and yet it sounds decent

  • @waterproffradio Actually you can. They are the small white squares on the lower side at 1:15

  • This is so beautiful inside, Nokia made it so capriciously!

  • That doesn't mean in english what it approximates to in latin languages :|

  • what kind of screws are that?

am i right that certain products have special screws that you cant open with an ordinary screwdriver and that you need a special screwdriver where you have to pay a LICENSE for to use it??

  • torx

  • thay are called torx bits

  • Great Vid!

  • would be the best thing in the world if you could fit a quad core chip and boot into os x! haha few years time and my dream will be true

  • Lol or put vista on it and play crysis.

  • yeah man. or dual boot it so it has osx and vista!

and a mini 8800gtx haha :D that would be very nice

  • Yeah, and your battery would last about 10 seconds....oh wait, somehow I don't think the stock battery can handle a TDP of 125 watts. :)

  • You are a supernokiahero. Thanks for your video, but I never follow you.

  • nerde yapılıyor bu tamir

    nasıl öğrenebilirizzz

  • Watching you do this has assuaged my curiosity and means I don't have to do it... thank you!

  • whath????!!!!!!:-q

  • hey...... it this two memory card...?whats that Chipt 35 Sec.....whats that..? a procesoor / or a Wi-Fi card

  • Ya, im on my n800 posting this now. The "chip" aat 35 is the second sd card, it holds 2 sd cards, although it is very picky about the iinternal one. The cpu would be alot harder than that to remove.

  • That was awesome!! By the way, where did you get those scissor-looking screw removing tool? I could use one of those :)

  • nice video, just got one of these myself and was wondering what was on the inside... now I don't need to open mine.

  • grab videos at dn. vc

  • so how much is this phone and does it work with t mobile

  • Go to my profile and watch the default video. It'll tell you.

  • @angelicricky ITS NOT A PHONE!!!!

  • Bravo :)

  • run xp omn8oo

  • lmao @ the memory card, that looked so damn funny. :D Overall, very nice job. :) The longest part was the final system load. :)

  • Yeah. It'd have been easier if the label on the memory card didn't peel back and stick in the slot. Thanks for the comment!

  • it was fun taking it apart. the hardest part for me was finding were the screws were.

  • That just makes me appreciate (and want) one more. Great job!

  • id get electrcuted if i tried that

  • Just a waste of time. Better go to play wii.

  • My arm is still sore from trying to get to "pro" in baseball.

  • Can you play online games on this device? Anyway, cool video. It would take me ages to dissect something like that. Did u rehearse :) ?

  • Not currently, but with the Linux core it is not unforeseeable.

  • Can you play online games on this device? Anyway, cool video - the dissection was flawless. It would take me ages to dissect something like that - did u rehearse? :)

  • nice

  • WTF..if U where more relaxed U could do faster than that..aniway whats the point.

  • The video is sped up intentionally. The memory card stuck because the label snagged and peeled back. The point, of course, is curiousity.

  • does this mean we can change the processor on this or some manually add an sd card slot

  • Not at all.

  • ahh i was going to ask, can you get msn live messenger (with webcam use) on the n800!?

  • Not yet - maybe someone is developing for it. The webcam use is currently ONLY for the Nokia video calls, but I expect development to include Google Talk, Skype, and maybe AIM/Yahoo/MSN if people get around to coding for it.

  • man your crazy! lol

p.s i love all your videos

  • Thanks!
