A question for atheists. In a world where there's no proof of God's existence or of life after death; how will you explain to your children why you brought them into the world and why they should die?
Repentance is a fictional construct to help people feel better, primarily as a "get out of jail" free card provided by their religion/beliefs.
Murder, rape, torture, all can be forgiven under the guise of repentance. A powerful and trapping mechanic used by many religions to draw people into their faith.
@Kalabalana By itself there is nothing wrong with it - i have no problem with it - after all this is the first step in our becoming better people, but that's exactly what it is - it is the first step not the end, which is what these religions are selling. They make it easy, like a politician making promises - it appeals to the weak & sadly the religions have been successful with it.
Hinduism is Harder, Tougher - yes repent but u can't stop with that. You MUST make amends
