Maybe I am wrong, but I think that the lead singer is 33 years old??
He sounds "young", but I think that it is pretty strange to be singing a song about "his parents", and "getting a job at Common Grounds", and Xbox, online courses, and smoking weed when you are 33 years old...
If he was 19 maybe this would make more sense, and, as I said he does sound "young and emo", but it's just weird when he is 33, and they have been a band since 1997...
okay, so i swear the lyrics are got a job at uncommon grounds. not common ground. uncommon grounds is a coffee shop in minneapolis, where justin pierre is from.
And Common Grounds is a coffee Shop in Richmond VA where the bassist and drummer are from. There's one a crossed the street from my house... idk my friends and I have been arguing what it is for the past week.
I'm almost positive Mark Hoppus is not in the chorus. His voice is distinctly different from Justin's and it would be easier to decipher the difference.
i agree. it sounds like justin on the low track as well as high. cause mark is simply a producer and might have a vocal in another song, like hangman in CTTM, but he doesn't do the backing. but who knows, i can be completely wrong.
Anyone have a download link? I LOOOOVE this song, but I currently have no money. :( And I'm getting the deluxe version of the CD anyway, so I don't want to buy it twice.
I think verse 1 should say "My parents keep asking when YOU'RE planning on coming around". Other than that, thanks for posting this! Loving this single way more than Disappear.

Maybe he wrote this song way back in 1996....

@triplej057 Not all songs have to be written by the lyricist's point of view. Sometimes, songs are just stories. :)

Unless I'm missing somthing, the chorus is just Justin Pierre double tracking his voice, one high, one low..

It's Matt singing with him.
If you have no clue who matt is, he is the bassist.
