there has been a debate about the authenticity and validity of Phil Brooks' (CM Punk) promo. And for the most part, it was very REAL. Although the WWE monitored the speech to see if he would step out of line, CM Punk's diatribe was 100% real with real, genuine emotion and frustration. I'm a huge John Cena fan. But I have to admit, that part was great, I loved it.

I'm not sure whether it was scripted. But I'm thinking, if it weren't, why would the people in charge (HHH I think) wait for so long before cutting him off. Security would have been there escorting him out, microphone would have been cut off long before. So this leads to believe that it was scripted.

This was the single greatest thing that I've heard from a WWE talent in years, since before it was even called WWE and was still called WWF. The sheer emotion and honesty that eminated from CM Punk takes me back to the single greatest promo that I've ever seen, Steve Austins old promo where he talked about WCW from ECW. CM Punk just brought himself to the top talent in the WWE by far in my eyes.

I loved how he told it like it is. Every point he brought up was valid and is the main reason I stopped watching wrestling a few years back. All the real talent get the shaft, while the ass kissers get ahead. The fact that he got cut off just shows that CM Punk was telling the truth. Good on CM Punk for doing this.

I loved every single minute of this. It was the best part of RAW. Everything Punk said was true. My mouth had dropped to the floor when he said Cena is good at kissing Vince's ass. Whether this was scripted or not, I'm still not sure I applaud Punk. He's a real wrestler with real talent and I think it's bull how he gets suspended for saying what the superstars in the locker room wish they had the balls to say.

Although I respect Cena for his devotion to the company, I have always had this suspicion that behind the scenes, he was an ass kisser who liked to suck up to those in authority. Punk's diatribe just confirmed my suspicions and speculations.
