Poor Gaara, when I saw the episodes of his childhood I was so sad, I was actually crying a little bit...I wanted to hug him so bad. I mean, sure, if I were to hug him he would probably just use me to remind himself he's alive, but still, at least he would know someone cares!! I wanted to get him a Band-Aid for his heart boo-boos! No he was not born with it but is is an indirect side effect of the demon inside of him. If you actually paid attention to the anime it was explained that the dark rings around his eyes are formed by never sleeping. He has a critical case of insomia because of the demon taking full control any time he sleeps. Anyone whom does not sleep for long periods of time you may notice gets darker colors and bags under their eyes.

I love this! The piano made the song so much softer, which was perfect for Gaara's childhood, but it also had that aching, pained sense of sadness to it. It gave voice to Gaara's resentment towards the villagers and everyone who misunderstood him.
