  • oh you look much smaller then that my bmi is 32 and im trying to get approved since they changed the qualifying numbers

  • @nurse3164 my bmi was 41 at the time of surgery. I didn't have my first fill until I had lost 43 lbs. For some reason, I just didn't need one right away. At surgery, I weighed 244.

  • @nurse3164 i think it depends on your insurance, but for humana, you have to have either a bmi of 40, or a bmi of 35 and significant weight-related health issues. They also (and i think most insurances do) require that you have 6 months of supervised dieting from a qualified health person before you can be approved. If you're interested in getting the surgery, i'd go ahead and start that supervised 6 month diet thing.

  • You go girl! Congrats! I just had my surgery done on Feb 1st 2010. Im excited about my first fill in about two weeks. Im so happy for you. Wow!
