The way this was filmed made it look as little impressive as possible. I can't admire the mechanism I don't see, and it looks like you shot a virtually weightless ball, especially considering someone deemed it safe enough to catch.
So your catapult is adequate for its intended purpose and for that congrats, however for an advanced placement course this seems a little half assed. Its a really inefficient design and you have almost no control over the distance. My guess is that its range is minimal. Granted no one cares at this point since this is 2 years old... Grats on winning your competition. I wish I had a video of my ap physics catapult to show you guys. I could launch a baseball over a kilometer accurate to 50'
The objective of this catapult was to launch a small pumpkin with accuracy at a distance of 30ft which was a achieved. For the long distance test, the catapult with launched a small pumpkin over 218 feet and placed second overall in our school. The catapult was well engineered, and to all you haters. suck it.
