  • in the latest version of spider jam- it lets you import/export wav files to and from the sd card. but the problem is it only allows 16bit mono 44100hz wave file... do you have any idea on how to convert normal wav files to this format?

  • awsome - just got it - and just recorded from cd and can add voice to it etc

it's a mine field wot you can do with it - let's jam

  • Hey! I've been thinking whether to get this amp or not. Just asking, with this amp I'll be able to record just my guitar playing and save it on an SD card and transfer it to my com? I won't have to use any softwaresnor anything rite? Just a few extra cables here and there? And how's the overall amp? Thanks for the help and cheers :)

  • I know that this is an old video I just came across it Good thing to know about the amp thanks for the info.

  • hey ..this video is good,i have the same amp..could you help me??..i have a problems:(

  • does it have a built in wah too?

  • What can you have lyrics with a song beacause i'm french and i've buy this Line 6 for my birthday but i don't know what i've lyrics ...

for example : I Love U2 and i would like to play a song of U2 with lyrics ...

Can you help Me ? :)

  • How do you record onto a sd card?

  • can you record your playing with this amp?

  • @IMBACHABRI Yes you can record up to 30 minutes roughly and save it to an SD card.

  • @Johnsgotwood hey friend I can record 30 minutes but with different riffs???

  • @Johnsgotwood When you save your recordings to an SD card how do you play them back again because it saves as a file that you can't listen to back.

  • @Johnsgotwood 30 minutes THATS AWSOME!

  • would this do a small venue like a pub with ease or will i need something bigger ?cheers.

  • @Jackko1223 it will be good for up to 150 people. It is quite loud.

  • did you just use a double ended headphone wire to plug into the cd player and the amp?

  • @huckleberry803 The cable has one small jack plug on each end. It goes into the amp next to the guitar input.

  • spider iv or spider jam?

  • @mavadoman spider jam :D

  • I love Santana, does anyone know if you can get the 'Santana' sound out of this amp?

  • @ianrkav Yes. There is a Mesa type of sound on the "Insane" setting.

  • @francoprs Ok thanks for that. Do you have one of these? 75watts is quite a lot of power and I was wondering what it sounds like on full volume. I doubt it could match a good tube amp for depth and warmth though!

  • There is an sd exit on the back is that for memorie recording???

  • I was debating between this and the new fender g-dec. I finally went with the Fender cause it's 30 watt. I used to have a 70 watt solid state amp, and it was just too loud for practicing. Had to keep it on 1 alll the time whic was a pain. That was the main deciding point. I think the spider has better features. The foot pedal has an expression pedal which I imagine works with volume swells and wah, which the g-dec doesn't, yet, I just couldn't get another too loud amp. Thanks for video.

  • how big is this amp?

  • @skateboardingrules52 21"W x 17.5"H x 10"D

  • i got the exact amp with pedle god i love it. i am my own band.

  • @MrBavelaar I recently purchased the 150, and now Im reconsidering. I would get way more use out of the jam amp, but my only concern is that it might not be loud enough to gig with.

  • This is my main amp for gigs (or at least my current gigs)

And it does wonderfully, I can come alone and still please the crowds plenty because of the looper.

and the looping and drum tracks and all of that really helped me learn to improvise and develeop my own sound.

I progressed light years faster than I would have otherwise.

All of my songs are recorded using this amp and its "save to card as wav" function.

Tone could be better, but for a solidstate 1x12 75watts this amp is the bomb!!!!

  • @MrBavelaar

75 watts is easily loud enough

  • Great vid! Great track too!

  • I have it too and it is better than my marshall

  • Great Vid - thanks for posting. I do this on my Spider Jam with blues backing tracks. Works great. One other great feature is once you've saved the recording, you can adjust the tempo and pitch independently - meaning you can slow down those fast solos without changing the pitch. Or, you can bring the key up or down a few steps. GREAT amp for training!!!

  • can you record another amp on this

  • @1961gibson yes.

Plug in the other amps output into the spider jams aux input.

    Amp (out) >>>cable>>>SJ (aux)

adjust the levels to avoid clipping :)

  • I love this amp ive used to play for some large crowds volume is not a problem. It is just a badass amp all around

  • I love this amp, with this you can get the metallica signature tone! yeah! it rocks

  • 24 minutes, 100 tracks..!

  • How much record time on this?

    And how many tracks?

    Nice video by the way.

  • @JDR2310 i think it said about 204 minutes of recording loops

  • is it any good for live performances? i wanna buy it, but only if it is... otherwise I'll stick with the 120 Spider III

  • I would think its probably loud enough but I haven't had any live experience with it. I suppose it depends on the size of the venue. The honest answer would be I don't know!!

  • thanks dude

  • It is very loud, loud enough for a show of 60-120 people, maybe a little more.

  • wow thanks, so i guess the 120W will be good for even larger shows.. maybe 200-250 ppl?

  • Well it would really depend on the position of the audiance, if they are farther away from the amp then yes the 120 will be good, but if they are just spread out but same distance away then you could use this amp. Really it is possible to be heard at a show of 300 people, again its just the kind of stage setup.

  • if you play a legit show in a venue..or small club

all u need is like a 30 watt they always mic your amp!

  • I've also got a 30 watt spider 3 amp which is very loud for its size. So I'm inclined to agree.

  • Oh yeh it is :L. lol, its really good for gigs

  • the track sounds better played through the amp.

  • Thanks for this.

Ive been playing my ipod through the line 6 for a few days, been trying to learn some floyd solos.

    This is gonna totally help.

  • hi =)

is there a sound difference between the spider jam and the standart line 6 spider II 75?

the speakers are the same :/ both are celestion 12

    is there a difference?

  • The only difference is that this amp has got a tweeter in it as well. This is to allow for other instruments such as acoustic guitar or keyboard. I expect basically the sound is the same and probably most of the on board effects are as well.

  • how much is the amp ?

  • Around £ 300.00.....!

  • Excellent choice of song/band John. Do you find this amp has a decent model of Lifeson's sound?

I'm buying one tomorrow and I want to get his sound, and hopefully Angus Young's. I already have an SG, so.... Bring it on!

  • Hi, sorry took so long to get back to you having P.C. problems. I've never really tried to copy Alex's sound, just something that sounds reasonable or fits the song style. I suppose you could though there are a lot of wacky presets in it, so any sound is possible. Thats if you've got the time to experiment. I bought it more for the recording feature, with the idea that if I didn't like the sound I could always add a pedal. I expect you've got yours now so you know what I mean.

  • Nice video John. Been tempted by one of these myself as I don't have much time for playing with a band anymore. This way I can pick up and put down the band whenever I want! Thanksfor the tips on tricking the misses too.

  • Thanks for commenting, I think you'd have a lot of fun with this. It has its limitations though, for example you can't change the drum tempo halfway through a loop, so what you start with is what you finish with. If you get my drift.

I found a drum pattern that when speeded up was very similar to "Ace of Spades". So I recorded the guitar rythumn, then bass and finally added the lead section. I couldn't stop the drums to do the link to the solo though.

But it was fun to do!!

  • I've got to admit I gave in and ordered one of these pretty soon after commenting last time. It's brilliant fun and has some cracking sounds. Which drum pattern sounds like Ace of Spades? I've not had a chance to got hrough them all (yet).

    Cheers,

    jon

  • The drum track I used is called "How are You" and I speeded it up to about 150 beats per minute. I listened back to it a minute ago and although it sounds good its not that close. So don't get too excited, although the chord structure does fit quite well.

  • lol that was awesome

  • Really nice amp I've just ordered one myself. Very good demo. Well sone mate. Out of interest what pedal are you using? And how much did it cost? I need one for the amp.

  • The pedal is called the FBV Express. Its basically four pedals and a volume stroke wah pedal. You can either use it to activate the recording feature or set it up to change your guitar sound. But you can't do both at the same time. They do another pedal with which I believe you can. It cost me about £75.00, which when compared to the price of the amp isn't cheap. But it makes sense to have it rather than trying to reach for buttons on the amp.

  • ibanex rg5ex1 how u liken that guitar

  • Its actually an RGT 42 DX with a through neck which gives it a little bit more sustain, so I'm told. Yeah I like it very much it stays in tune pretty well and is nice to play. Thanks for asking..

  • hahaha yes its main purpose is to trick the wifey into thinking your upstairs

i'm buying this amp. still working out alright for you? still entertainign you?

  • Yeah I'm still having a lot of fun with it and would recommend it to anyone. Its certainly good value for money, especially when you price up the components on they're own. I was gonna buy a POD X3 Live, but I'm not going to bother now. This has enough to keep me going for a while yet. Thanks for your comment. John.

  • Thanks guys for your comments. I'm sorry that the video is so boring but I just wanted to show you how good the amp is. Especially for someone learning, or if you're in a rut. You can just put on one of the jam tracks and go into your own little world. It even tells you what key its in.

  • Cool amp John, Line 6 come up with some great products, nice demo, thanks for that.

  • hahahah sneek off down the pub i love it.

  • :D Pretty good,nice job

  • Very nice amp. Haven't had a guitar amp for years, I'd be worried about the neighbours.

Like the video, very informative, well made. Like the way you can loop the part from the CD. Cheers John.

  • With a stunning 75 watts the neibours will be deafoned. I say go dor it!!!
