However, telling them that the lyric is "walk" but saying "fuck" in the recordings by manipulating the sound of the word (out of protest, yes, but also in faithfulness to his art and to his underground audience) is very much a Barrett-humor thing to do. The fact that he changed other lyrics entirely to sound extremely sexual in comparison to the clearly playful sound of the demo is a very obvious clue. His audience knew just what he was saying ;).
Pink Floyd was the greatest band of the 70's but, Syd's Pink is the greatest band of the pycadelic era. If they were able to make more music they may have been the best of the 60's....Btw listen to The Mars Volta's(The greatest present day band!) great cover
With all due respect to Obscured By Clouds, Ummagumma and all of the other worthwhile Gilmour-era releases, it's amazing how Barrett's album and a half's worth of contributions to Pink Floyd's legacy continue to outshine their subsequent works like a crazy diamond.
There's a reason David Bowie called them "Syd's Pink Floyd". Even the best post-Barrett PF will never come within a country mile of this! Great stuff. Now if only this sold as well as DARK SIDE...

Everyone quit Focking off and watch my three Syd Barrett art videos, It took endless hours to do Syd justice and show art work that no one else will ever show.
I even have Syd's painting of Santa at the north pole, I got it, I had to rotate the jpeg to see what it was, it did just look like spatter art. Find another video with the waterfall w/man on a canoe inside a fish. or Syd's trippy painting of a (train? Subway?) with spotlights. I made images off a news story, than restored those images

Thanks for your response. Fortunately, you are wrong about pacifism. It worked in India with Ghandi. It is working in China too. Falun Gong practitioners have worked to get 50 million people to quit the Communist Party in China without one bullet fired, and Communism will fall in China shortly. Falun Gong practitioners don't sit around in the dirt waiting for change. If you think their perscecution is desrved, you should have a change of heart, fast.

I'm raising public awareness about the Chinese Communist Party persecution of 70 million Falun Gong spiritual practitioners for the last 10 years in China. They are put in slave-labor camps and forced to make stuff sold here. They take organs from them to sell on the black market. The media doesn't cover it. It must stop. Thanks.

Everyone quit Focking off and watch my three Syd Barrett art videos, It took endless hours to do Syd justice and show art work that no one else will ever show.
I even have Syd's painting of Santa at the north pole, I got it, I had to rotate the jpeg to see what it was, it did just look like spatter art. Find another video with the waterfall w/man on a canoe inside a fish. or Syd's trippy painting of a (train? Subway?) with spotlights. I made images off a news story, than restored those images
