I also had the pleasure of going to Hohenschonehausen and beeing guided through it by Kalle Richter was absolutely amazing! What he has done to buil up his life is just amazing! Going through all those dark moments and all the horribile shit he wen through must be really difficult! He really is truly inspiring and due to this I am doing a project on the Stasi as Kalle really got to me and I would love to find out more about the people the stasi etc! God bless his tortured soul!

@clarebannerman Thanks, Mike. Berlin is truely a great city, not a stunning beauty but has loads of personality. One to fall in love with especially this summer with the world cup and the public viewings at the Brandenburg Gate. And the weather was great :-)

Yeah, the beer is great in Germany. No chemicals or preservatives in it, so the hang over you get defo comes from the alcohol :-)

@suzyqplacet Suzy, when I am in Berlin I am happy. I just love, love, love this city!!! Yeah, the years just flew by, didn't they. I remember the fall of the Berlin wall so well. It will be one of the moments I will never forget, one of those events where you always know what you were doing when it happened (if you know what I mean). The kids were brillant and the sunny weather helped to make it an unforgettable trip.

@fehquig Andy!!! Wonderful to see you! Berlin is wunderbar, not a stunning beauty but the greatest treasure are the Berliners. They are witty, quick and really special. Berlin is THE hip place to visit in Good Ol' Europe.

@ljped Thank you Jack.The class trip was so exciting although we had a tight programme. We visited the Reichstag and were invited by one of our member of parliament to come and listen to a debate, watchced Germany:Ghana together with 500,000 people at the Brandenburg Gate public viewing, been to Madame Tussaud's,visited the Blue Man Group show. A highlight was the Stasi Memorial where we met K-H Richter. He gave us a moving insight into his life and suffering in the GDR.And the sun was shining

@2darbit Berlin is a great city, really. Very hip, modern and cosmopolitan. She is not a beauty but real beauty lies within :-)As we say in German: Berlin ist eine Reise wert ... Berlin is worth a visit.

Berlin looks amazing here, looks like you had a great time at the World Cup viewing too! I saw Cologne once, but not Berlin. The glass/mirror building looks very interesting to see. Love the song too, works beautifully. "Someday" soon I would like to visit Germany and Ireland, for sure! i feel like I have friends there, lol.
