  • i'm surprised by that hp number... my stage 1 GIAC tune gives me 228 whp and 252 lb/ft torque, and that was during summer..

  • Can someone please explain what APR is and also what do you need to do to get your golf to stage 2? probably stupid question i no :)

  • You ever go to the meets at freedom wash?

  • where'd you get those rims?

  • @FreeeHugsx3 Bud @ Checkered Flag VW in VA

  • @FreeeHugsx3 for real, those are sexy! lol

  • What exhaust are you using sounds amazing.....................nice ride

  • @livinthedublife it's a GHL 3" turbo-back

  • That's kinda low for stage 2...I'm making 230whp on stage 1, stock catback and an intake. The same day my buddy make 250whp/265tq with stage 2...

  • give me your wheels.

  • How much Trq????

  • @JLDG4 it was later found to be 278 on that same dyno. On a cooler day on a different dynojet it made 245hp and 303 ft.lbs

  • @Meatstick62 Damn! Those are some REALLY good numbers for just a few bolt ons! Good work my friend!

    Keep dubbin

  • love the sound of the turbo

  • Unrelated to the performance............. what wheels are those? Touareg?

  • @pubahsCDN They are 19x8.5" Phateon Helios wheels

  • love those freakin wheels man!

  • 233whp on stage 2? smh haha weak

  • 278 wtq ;)

  • @yfzboy450

weaksauce. these things stage 2 are making less power than our MS3's stock

  • have you taken in the fact that MS3's are 2.3? 263hp and 280 tq on the 2010. ive raced one of the new speeds from a dig and i beat him everytime 2+ car length by the time i hit 3rd (he knows how to drive) and im only stage 1. and actually gti stage 2 is making more power than the MS3, stage 2 is 270hp and 323tq at the crank, check APR's website. 278tq is WHEEL TORQUE

  • Comment removed

  • @sycomantz you tool "shakes head" 280 ft lbs to the crank bud, lookin at about 240ish, and about 230hp to the wheels. like other buddy said, stage 2 (still stock turbo) is 278 wheel. although ive seen 290 before. Speed3 is nice and faster if you do nothing to the gti, but you can easily have a faster gti for anbout $1000. gti is just a nicer car honestly especially the 2010!

  • @MRfullon

typo. doesnt matter. as you can see, the clown here in orlando with his modded gti didnt want to run me the night he was talking shit.

GTI's are slow. stage two we make 320whp/350wtq. thats intake, dp, IC upgrade, mild tune, and FPIs. yall have to upgrade to our shitty k04's just to make decent power.

i havent come across one GTI i didnt smash.

    gtis are SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • @sycomantz my gti has over 500 horse and rapes porches

  • @MRfullon

actaully it wasnt a typo. dude stated "stage 2 is 270hp and 323tq at the crank, check APR's website. 278tq is WHEEL TORQUE "

we make 263-272bhp stock. and so what, you can make 323tq stage 2 compared to our 280stock. intake puts our tq over 300

stage 2 gti is still slower than a ms3 with intake only. fail

  • @sycomantz ok well thats just straight up bs. no way is an intake giving you 20tq, your crazy, maybe 5wtq lol. Little lesson for you, cars with MAF's dont typically see much for gains from intake. Now throw a FULL exhaust on there and yes you will see huge gains. I will agree that when comparing stock turbos the mazda will make more power. but gti its still well above in quality and fit n' finish. haha

  • @MRfullon

now let me give you a lesson. you are right, WHEN IT COMES TO GERMAN CARS. germans intake systems are optimized from factor which is the exact opposite from japanese cars. especially FI jap cars.

depending on which intake you get for our car, gains are between 15-30hp. i suggest you read up and look at our dyno sheets.

and yall do have better fit and finish. but i vomit on PLAID seats...hahaha. UGLY

  • @MRfullon

tomake good power (over 320w/350wtq)thats not making our turbos scream for dear life, our turbos have to be upgraded. gt30's work realy well on this car. fully bolted and untuned the car will make 350whp/350wtq

but ive had enough of my MS3, trading for a 335i & go JB3...WOOT

  • @MRfullon

also, our stock turbos are too small for our cars. our turbos are pretty much maxed out from factory since our motors are too big(2.3l)

anything over 17psi(we run 15.6 stock) its just blowing hot air, creating too much load below 3500rpms, and detonation occurs to often.

  • @sycomantz i hear ya same here where spiking at 11-12psi stock i believe, but ya as soon as we started seeing that high boost, it just starts to heat soak too much. thats some impressive power for sure with no tune! i checked a dyno out, only showed gains of 5tq and 8hp, could be mis-info tho but ya. anyways to shed some light on this convo i will say speed 3's have there place for sure, and i will never say no to taking one for a spin! ahah. good luck with the bmw!

  • are you using the APR hpfp too? Love the vortex body kit, I want one so bad for my little gti. the wheels are dope too

  • nope, not stage 2+ just stage 2. the body kit isn't votex, it's an ABT front lip and Reiger rear and side skirts. Wheels are 19x8.5" OEM Phaeton Helios

  • well, i raced my NEW friend mike from a roll with my wrx that makes 280/275 to the wheels and he absolutely destroyed me 4 times by 3 cars. i guess there's more to it than top power output. all he has is downpipe and apr stage 2 but he said his chip is special and it was a limited edition offer and he's still on stock fuel pump. he also has forge dv. i hardly ever race from a dig and i sat in the gti and i was soooo impressed. i just couldn't believe how bad he beat me from a roll haha.

  • so, after correction you put down 278 whp is that correct? what was your torque? interested because i may be getting an mkv to replace my 05 wrx that makes same power, but the power band is much better in the gti and less drivetrain loss since i do a lot of highway driving, hence why i got my ass handed to me by a guy with same color and mods as you haha.

  • by "after correction" do you mean break hp? I'd estimate the drivetrain loss of the DSG to be 12-15% so that would be 264-274 bhp. APR advertises 252 bhp for the 93 octane Stage II tune.

I've also dyno'd other times on this same dyno and on another DynoJet like it and made an average of each time of 225hp and 226hp, respectively.

In this run, torque was not found. In the other runs, average torque was 291 ft-lb.

  • nice setup man. my sister has an 07 gti that i put apr 3in downpipe and exhaust on, along with the apr stage2 chip and an aem intake. the car really pulls for what it is and has

  • yessir, and once you lower that 3200# curb weight you can have a decently quick car

  • how would u lower the curb weight? i got a gli n i really want to lower the weight but i dont see how besides taking out the air bags but thats kinda risky

  • my car has been seeing more and more track time since this video and is caged and missing most of the interior. there isn't a whole lot you could feasibly do to drop the curb weight while keeping it comfortable and streetable

  • love the wheels man... car looks good. sounds great... just got my 09 BM and im just waiting to APR chip it...

  • Car looks good. Sounds faster then the #'s. Are they low for Stage 2?

  • not particularly, some other stage 2 guys have put down numbers in the 240-250 hp range but it all depends on dyno and conditions

  • beautiful rims man, do u mind me asking what type and size are they?

    beautiful car, sounds great! +1

  • They are 19x8.5" OEM Phaeton Helios wheels

  • that makes me so goddamn happy. My plans for the summer are TBE, Neuspeed P-Flo, Forge DV, and REVO Stage 2.

233 WHP with little upgrades here and there should hold me over til that gt3071r turbo upgrade :-D

  • what was your MPG like after the APR upgrade?

  • cruising on the highway at 65 gets me 35-36mpg. at a more normal speed of about 75 I get about 29-30 mpg. around town really depends on how I'm driving but usually from 17-24

  • so not too much different than before? if i drive well i usually get about 25/26...27 if someone in front of me drives slow, lol.

where did you have your upgrade done? can any mechanic do it?

  • meatstick if you dont mind me asking, what side skirts and lip are on your car? They look absolutely stunning

  • thanks. I don't have the kit on there anymore but the lip was ABT and the side skirts and rear were Rieger

  • lol camerman goes "I want DSG"

  • what did you putdown?

  • Torque?

  • We weren't able to get the torque to read correctly that day. Later we found it to be 278 whp

  • 278whp stage 2!!?? thats incredible

  • that seems to be about the norm for stage 2 cars. I dyno'd on a Dynojet again this past weekend and made 231 hp and 294 tq. Humidty and temperature were slightly less than the runs in the video

  • love the sound of this gti!

  • what is this wheels? they are so beautiful

  • They are OEM 19" Phaeton Helios

  • those wheels are too sexy.

  • yes, they're also way too heavy

  • I know. I got the 17" exis. WAAAY too heavy for track. My favorite wheels would be Motegi Track Lite 2.0 (6 spoke looks sweet) and they are like 14lb for a 17in wheel. That's hard to beat. Too bad they don't have the VW bolt pattern on that wheel. They have it for the the 1.0 (5 spoke) but not the 2.0.

  • I have a neuspeed P-Flo and APR stage 1, and on 93 I got 233 whp and 273 wtq on mine

  • Dyno results will vary from dyno to dyno and from location to location. Your 233 may be 210 on someone else's dyno or my 233 might be 245 on another. In reality, dyno numbers don't serve much purpose without a baseline.

  • i would agree on this, unless the car is actually driven on the road on a straight line then i guess from there we can actually get an accurate power of the car, because the car is running with its weight and drag as well. Maybe...?

  • weight and air resistance are not a factor in determining the engine's output. Differences in dyno results are usually due to the equipment and other factors such as air temperature, humidity, and altitude.

  • i have a stage 1 apr chip and forge diverter valve....im ordering a awe catback exhaust in three weeks and getting and intake right after that...2 questions....i need a downpipe to upgrade to stage 2..? and also do u feel the power increase from stage 1 to stage 2 software

  • yes, stage 2 requires a downpipe (it's actually the minimum modification needed for stage 2). And yes, you will notice a difference

  • i was driving today and something blew on my car.....its at the dealer right now im so sadd....i think it has to do with the chip..

  • it was probably your diverter valve, the diaphragm design has a propensity to fail above stock boost levels

  • It cant be his DV, he said hes got forge. CHeck ur pcv valve akdemir. By the way, u got sick GTi meatstick.

  • what kind of body kit is on there the car looks amazing

  • The front is ABT and the sides and rear are Reiger

  • i hve never dynoed mine , i wonder what it would be i have apr stage two chip divertive valve pulleys intake downipe whth no cats intercooler pipe and dishcarge pipe!

  • so all you have realy is what intake and chip????
