  • wow your awesome dude!

  • Helpful video but this music sucks............. play some judas preist or something!!

  • lol great personality!

  • @ReconHHC get it sandblasted.

  • he smart

  • what if you put bondo on a dent or something its all smooth and u sand the whole vehicle down and it is bare metal would u prime the bare metal and bondo spots and then paint?? i dont know much so this is why im asking thankyou!

  • @a0201618 actually you would first get the car to bare metal, then do your body work, then prime, then paint. You don't want to put bondo on top of old paint, try to do your body work on bare metal all the time. Pete

  • @swrnc ya i know but if you already had the bondo all done and to give it a new paint job would you sand the whole truck to bare metal and partly bondo? to prime over the bondo/bare metal and then paint?

  • @a0201618 If the body work is already done, then do a once over hand block and then prime and paint. You got it right, good luck. Pete

  • fala demais !

  • ok?

  • Whats that green stuff all over your arms?

  • love the video, No BS! ---

  • now wtf is that? rust! lol

  • hi pete great videos .pete what type and size compressor do you use i only have a 110unit and use lvlp guns hope to get a 220wired so i can use air tools what do you reccomend i dont have a professonal spray booth just a small area in my garage. also what sort of filter system ? love that ol skool binks 7 you use .

  • @sallorio A 5 to 7 HP 220 Volt Compressor is more then enough for what you are doing.. I use a 7 HP for everything I do. Thanks PEte

  • i have a tips for you to save a lot of time when you replace metall :)

  • Pete....Love the vids...learning a bunch. Question: I used stripper on my 65 Cadillac and took off two layers of paint (crappy repaint and factory) down to orig primer. What do I use to clean the body of the stripper? Thanks, Ed

  • @Buzard9696 Ed,, use steel wool and WATER, wash the car with a water hose and use steel wool as a scuff pad. Make sure you get it off throughly.. ASAP.. You DO NOT want that stuff to dry on your car and get caked up and crusty.. YOu must get it off and kill it ASAP... it will dry in the cracks and crevuss and you will never get it out and then you will feel the pain when the paint starts to peal off later down the line... Pete

  • hahah!!! the music on the background is really funny! Here in mexico we call that "pajaritos a volar" (fly fly little birds!) LOL!!

You got a cool sense of humor, dude! and thanks for sharing your videos.

  • How did you do the back part of the door?

  • My 66 Nova had some rust in the front door. I did put Nos fenders and quarters on it. a lot of work you are doing on that door. The money in labor he is speending I have found a 66 Chevelle door sheel for $1,000 NOS.Keep up the good work. I like doing restorations. The problem is people dont want to pay for it.

  • hey i gotta a 1970 cutlass s im workin on and im gettin it ready for paint so far ive patched the rust on the bottoms of both fenders now ive hit a speed bump cause i took all the trim of the side and im left with a bunch of little holes about the size of a pencil tip whats the best way to fill em? i dont wana use bondo(learned the hard way u dont fill holes with that) so what do u think?

  • Sorry to say, but the best thing to do is find where the holes start, and where they end, and cut the intire section out and replace it... More then likely its rusted out from the inside out, and if you go to spot weld the holes they will just get bigger.... Good Luck---Pete

  • oh my bad there not rust holes just the trim holes, the little holes that hold the clips in lol i cant think of any way to fill em and i dont wana use bondo

  • Another great informative vid Pete, showing then how its done in the shop

    been there a zillion times

for making repair patches i use two inch masking tape to lay over the area, mark out the edges and over lap folds with a marker

the advantage is you can transfer the tape in one peice straight onto your new sheet and cut / mark out from there, just a different way to get a perfect fit

  • Yes,, The tape works very well for making patterns.. A very good thing to know when doing work like this... Sounds like your a body man... Thanks for the comments Pete

  • is it possible to just buy a new car? ::) just kidding :) I'm trying to get rid of few inches of rust on my car (under the door). I put primer first... and then painted on top of the primer... Paint ate the primer! I have to redo it, but how? Thank You!

  • What you should do is either go have it sand blasted or soda blasted.. BUT, this might lead into more trouble, if you do this, you might run into rust pin holes, etc.. the best thing for you to do, is take a grinder with 36 grit and start over by sanding it down and working your way to 180 grit then reprime and paint.....

  • hey pete im in the process of rebuilding my 74 nova. the rear 1/4's are rusted out as is the outer wheelhouse on both sides of the car. the front doors arent in the best of shape and will need new skins. they are out of alignment. my question for you is, should i line up the doors and then go to town on the rear 1/4's? or should i just leave the doors un-aligned and rusted, then worry about it later?

  • If it where me, i would either find some good used doors with no rust, before I put door skins on them, If I couldn't find any used doors then I would skin them. I would do the doors first. then the quarter panels, I would have the front fenders installed, so I would be able to line up the doors properly and make sure the door gaps are right. then I would install the quarters to match the door lines. I presume you are using full quarter panel skins.. Anyway, take your time and it will work. Pete

  • nice tip with the motorcycle strap thanx u dam man pete u da man!!!!!

  • good idea with the motorcycle strap , i have been using a sawed off broom handle, will remember that

  • Another great video with some really helpful tips. Thank for spending time showing these great trade secrets, one question however Chicken dance?

  • Pete can i ask, why did you trim before body and paint, wont you get crap on the interior.

  • There is NO INTERIOR in the car.... All they did is make the peices, like the center console, speaker box's, filler panels... Once I get done with the car, then I will take it back to the Interior Shop, and then they will finish it out... Thanks Pete
