ok.......to clear shit up here.......this is Donald Fagan, and I gotta say this is a total embarrassment to the credibility that Our Band is being besmirched. It was a PBS thing directed by some Steven Hawkins gimp who barked at us through one of those vocoder things placed against his throat. Earlier that morning I was diagnosed with hep C and anal herpes and I just wasn't into it. Huffing a whole buch of glue while getting blown by some cracked-out nip skank just beforehand didn't help either.

Of all the videos of this type, this one is one of the best. For the first couple of bars, this sounds like a fairly competent version of the song. Then, as the drums come in, the flams and muffs become more noticeable, and the performance quickly deteriorates into a glorious mess. The "Smoke On The Water" bass line is inspired lunacy at its best!
