I saw what I beleive to be a Bigfoot type creature about 20 miles west of charlotte NC back around 1983,it came out of a pond late one night,it simply rose out of the water and the errie part was that it was as silent as can be,the only reason I saw it was it was a full moon.around 30 minutes later I heard a shotgun firing,a week later I mentioned it to a neighbor and they said they seen it in the water as well and shot at it,it went under and nothing else.

One of these things tried to open the door of our mobile home in Carolton, Ohio. I walked into the living room, and locked the door. I then stood there and watched the door handle turn. I could see the figure of it through the louvered window. It was at least 8 feet tall. Had to be! I could smell it through the door! It had an almost cheese smell to it? I believe it's a North American ape that just hasn't been properly cataloged. Should have been cataloged back when the California footage was shot. Anyone with any amount of sense can see that it's a real animal. You just can't fake the movement of muscle structure. Especially back then!

I think about my encounter often, and am so glad I didn't pull the trigger. That would have been an act of homicide! Plus, my dad would have killed me for blasting-out the windows...

One trip into that kind of wilderness, and you instantly know that an animal such as this could EASILY hide from humans... And with good reason.

If they're nomadic - which I suspect they are - then there's really not much of a chance finding a cave, or nest of some type. Maybe temp. bedding made of the surrounding foliage.
