@jesusjacket Friends are friends forever, if the Lord's the Lord of them...... So true....I pray for God to work in your friends situation. Have faith!
I'm a member of the American Fork High School Marching Band and we play this song after every competition. About 2 weeks ago was the last time I listened to that song (and sang) with some of my senior buddies. I bawled like a baby. This song is very powerful.
@1pwright, have you forgotten repentance? There's no redemption without repentance [Heb10:26-27]. Christ told the adulteress to STOP her adultery! Adulteresses like Amy who refuse to STOP join the children of disobedience [1John3:4,8] making themselves God's enemies [James4:4] who are promised God's wrath [Eph5:6, Matt7:23]. Hell is real, & if Amy's prior claims are true, she is beyond hope [Heb6:4-6]. Christians are not even to pray for the hopeless [1John5:16; John12:40; 2Thes2:11-12; Rom11:8]
I really like this song. It inspires and encourages me so much. As for those of you watching Amy's life, john 8:7-9 "Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her." what ever happened to loving your neighbor (especially a backsliden christian) as yourself. I would focus more on your own walk with God than another person's walk with God. God will judge us all both good and bad, what we say and what we do. We all will have to give an account of our lives.
Oh my goodness...this is a beautiful song. Listen to the meaning. Do we think that anyone who sings a song HAS to live by the words!? Then what about all these rap artists who sing about rape and murder! She made a mistake. Haven't we all. Her voice is a gift...from whatever God/Goddess you serve. Don't judge...just enjoy.
Here is a fantastic music video that the Christian world will love! It's called "Don't forget about the walk." It was written and created by a small town pastor that is also making a feature film and has written four books. You don't want to miss it! You can go to his website by going to alanmakimusicDOTcom or search for Alan Maki on youtube. It would only take a second to look and I promise you wouldn't be let down. Look him up! He has wonderful devotionals and an app too!
@BryonH1, are you truly foolish enough to believe you can avoid the wrath to come by being cowardly [Rev21:8] & ashamed of God's Word [Mark8:38]?
Are you one of those worshipers of Amy Grant who, like her, think you can clutch to your sexual immorality & have salvation too, without repenting? Well, God says you can't!! [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9]
If you persist to deny that God is Judge [John12:48], & that His wrath is promised to the lawless [1John3:4,8; Eph5:6, Matt7:23], you'll regret it forever

@Duckie608, it's pretty obvious then, don't you think, that the Lord is NOT the Lord of an unrepentant adulteress like Amy who leaves her husband to have illicit sex with another woman's husband? [John14:24, Mark10:12, 1Cor7:10-11, Rom7:3, Luke16:18, 1Cor6:9, James4:4]
The praise team I'm in at my church sings this all the time. It's one of our favorites.. The other night three of my best friends from my school and my boyfriend were in the audience during our coffee house.. We decided to sing this song and as we started I looked at them and couldn't help but cry.. Friends really are friends forever.. If the Lord's the Lord of them.. <3
@1redsoxfan1963, what makes Christians sad is to see people like you remain ignorant of God's Word, knowing that the consequences are eternal [John8:24].
If you do not Know Him, how will you ever love Him as He prescribes [John14:24] & obey Him?
If you wrongly think that you can remain in unrepentant, disobedient sexual immorality like Amy or sodomite "bishop" Gene Robinson, then you will suffer their fate [1Cor6:9, Heb10:26-27, Eph5:6]
@Angelwhisper1225, you should be ashamed of yourself!!! Contradicting God's Word [John7:24, 1Cor6:3], flirting with blasphemy by calling God's Word [John12:48] "nastiness" & "garbage" while parading your unbelief as you chant the mantra of wiccan worshipers of the lilith manifestation of satan.
If Amy's prior claims are true, she is an apostate beyond hope [Heb6:4-6], & Christ's disciples are told not even to pray for such hopelessly lost [1John5:6].
Those of you who call yourselves "christians" should be ashamed of yourselves. It is not your place to judge others, and as "children of God" shouldn't you be the ones setting an example of good behavior? Yet you sit here and spout all of this nastiness. Not to mention you're hypocrites. Did you forget, too, that God forgives all when one prays for his forgiveness? I think the people spouting this garbage should put their noses back in their Bibles and resume their studying. Blessed Be.
You are all of you who call yourselves christians to judge Amy. You should all be ashamed of yourselves. You think because you can quote scripture by verse that you are important. Your comments make me sad. Jesus loved everyone. Including sinners. You all make me very sad.
Ok not understanding some of the comments. But Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant came into my life at a time, that I really needed music like this. Though out my life I have shared this music with many of my friends and family. It reminds of the strength god is giving, and that our hearts are and will be with our family and friends... and now here I am at age 50 and still loving this music, and wishing my kids were hearing this kind of music instead of what they hear all the time.
so funny how so many of my friends are already in the spirit of God, those that have passed on, some of my closest friend s in the spirit. strange i wish some dayman walking in the flesh could only be so filled with the love for one another.
Why is the power of convictions so powerful? because those who understand it, are those who know our lord and savior christ jesus, not the frustrations of man, but the love of the purity of a heart of many. love is true, and let conviction not ever be so strong that it allows the evil to lie and say you are worthless for love of God says you are worth more then what the evil of man will say you are. Jesus Died because everyone was worth it.
@unclejess71, I know just the thing to draw you in. We'll have a beer bash and orgy for Jesus, and we'll cut out all parts of the Bible that you find offensive, especially the parts where God says unrepentant adulteresses like Amy, plus "arsenokoites" and "malakos" [1Cor6:9, Heb10:26-27] go to hell.
You'll be able to do whatever you want, and pretend that you can have sexual-immorality and salvation, too, until you croak. Then, you'll find out it was a lie, but so what? You're there anyway.
My fellow xtians we're not called to judge so pple should not talk so bad about Amy. xst was xricified with two thieves and one of them landed in heaven with Him so we just never know when one can change and say a prayer. In his word He said all day long i hold out my hands waiting for the rebilious and contray men. Judge not but instead pray for them.
to this day this version of the song is still being song by millions in weddings and graduations and other great events and has a lifelong meaning... in my opinion this song will outlive both michael w. smith and amy grant by thousands of years
The ten commandments:" the old law" given by God to Moses. The NEW COVENANT:through Jesus Christ Who said that if we break one commandment we have broken them all. He did say that He came not to abolish the law but that it would be fulfilled through HIM. <? Meaning? Jesus Christ ( knows) we have all broken at least one of the commandments! We can only go to Heaven with accepting Him as our Saviour. We all fall short of the glory of the Lord. The blood covenant is what has set sinners free.
It is amazing. I read all of the comments that you christians make on here and I get reminded why I left your faith. How do you people expect others to want to come to your side if you all are hippocrates? Follow your own words. JUDGE NOT LESS YE BE JUDGED!! Cause I am not afraid to judge you all. I know how christianity works. I thank the ALL everyday I have seen the real path. Plus your religion has Pagan DNA. Think not look into it. If you dare. Most wont have the guts to.
@unclejess71 If you happy with your new religion now, i also happy with it..but, you don't have right to judge others people religion or their believe. You should respect others, if you don't know how to respect them, so you just same like them. Not all christian is like that, perhaps they think they are good enough but maybe not. I'm from sabah, malaysia. In my family we have muslim, buddhism, and even christian happy staying together in 1 house. So, pls respect each other.
What happens when you die? Have you told lies, stolen, used God's name in vain(10 Commandments)? If yes, then you're a liar, thief, and a blasphemer in the sight of God. When you die & be judged by God, you'll be guilty of sin, & go to Hell! But God sent His Son Jesus to shed His blood & die on a cross for your sins, He was buried & rose again from the dead on the third day. If you'll believe the Gospel(Jesus died for your sins, was buried & resurrected)you'll not perish & have eternal life
Yo, Paxlesus, because satan has been fighting Christ's brethren (who do NOT include Amy [Matt12:50]) and God's Word longer than you have, I guess by your statement, you support the devil.
Such is not a good long-term strategy, as the consequence will be to share the eternal fate of such children of disobedience as Amy [1Cor6:9, Eph5:6, Matt7:23, Heb10:26-27], apostates [Heb6:4-6, 2Pet2:20-22], blasphemers [Matt12:32], those given over by God [Rom1:28, Rom11:8], and other unbelievers [John8:24].
@Paxlesus, and so you do not hear Him! The apology you will have to make is not to the world, but -- likely too late -- to God for being ashamed of His words, and not believing Him. While you seek, like Amy, to embrace the world, it is John the Baptist whom Christ valued above all men, and the martyred Apostles who stood, as you deem, disagreeably in the minority.
Ah, but when the unrepentant adulterers of the world applaud you, you know you are not in God's favor [John15:19, James4:4].
@yeeeaaawhooo Man, I would REALLY like to know what disturbing church you pastor or what conspiracy websites you administrate ("Is Barack Obama the Antichrist? 4 Simple Ways to Find Out!"). Your argument is based on condemning me and Amy Grant for something you have no proof of and cannot know: the state of our hearts.
In the same way, I can only conclude that you are sincere, but in your sincerity, you have taken to gossip and backbiting against a - possibly - backsliding believer.
I should apologize to people just watching this video for entertainment purpose or to hear a beautiful song and did not want to see a theological debate in the comments section. My apologies to these listeners.
@Paxlesus, you need to hear God at Mark8:38. He speaks for Himself. His Word doesn't return void. He cast no stones when He told the adulteress to STOP committing adultery, and He is not casting stones when He tells us that unrepentant adulteresses go to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9].
You are flirting with blasphemy when you call God's Word vitriol, and the very kindest thing He could say to you would be Heb5:12-14.
If you can't answer Luke6:46, like Amy you will receive His promise at Matt7:23.
@yeeeaaawhooo Being a disagreeable Christian is fun, isn't it? You get all the pleasure of having a minority of believers agree with you, and then when someone issues a differing opinion, you can say they're going to hell (or committing blasphemy). Interesting side note: The Bible declares the Word of God to be Jesus and never refers to itself as such (John Chapter 1), and I have not blasphemed against Him when I say you are hurting the Body with your inflammatory rhetoric.
@yeeeaaawhooo Oh yes, and Mark 8:38: Does not pertain to our conversation (wicked and adulterous generation has never referred to the sin of adultery, but to the worship of idols; for reference, address the book of Hosea). Hebrews 10:26-27: refers to Christians who sin willfully, which, if taken in the context you are obviously looking for, condemns you as well, for surely you have lied or stolen or cheated, knowing it was wrong (otherwise you're better than Paul [Rom 7:15-20).
@7902711 Yup, exactly. I'd never slander the Bible in such a manner, but I have no problem saying that to a person who is cutting down our brothers and sisters. Thank you for the support (although, since you've been fighting longer than I have, I guess I am supporting you).
@yeeeaaawhooo well said ... there are VERY few who will be bold in The Lord these days for fear and apprehension of reprisal and resentment from others WELL SAID AND WELL DONE !
@junekeefer71, why can't you hear God tell His disciples 1Cor6:3? "Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?" Or John7:24: "Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment!”
Because He tells us John12:48, we Christians point to Him and believe Him when He says unrepentant adulteresses like Amy are His enemies [James4:4] enroute to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9].
He did not cast stones when He told the adulteress to STOP!!
@yeeeaaawhooo Sir, with all due respect, you both now are and have been misrepresenting the scriptures you're quoting. For instance, when Paul wrote that passage to the Corinthians, he was discussing lawsuits and how it's a shame that Christians can't work out their problems amongst bretheren when we will judge angels.
And, yes, Paul does say that adulterers will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, but he also includes people who practice every other kind of sin. (TBC)
@PaxIesus So please, sir, just....just lay off. It's a beautiful song, it has meaning and purpose. And when Jesus talked to the adultress, our Lord said "where are they that condemn you...then neither do I; go and sin no more." You, sir, have picked up the pharisaical stone, but they were wise enough to lay them down whereas you are winding back your pitching arm.
Please stop hurting the body of Christ with your vitriol.
See funny how you all remember different parts of the Bible but you all forgot the passage on not judging others because the way you judge others is the way the Lord your God will judge you in the end. So if you want to be judged harshly in the end keep throwing stones because they will come back to hit u much harder then you threw them.

@1redsoxfan1963, shame on you! How can you call yourself educated while remaining ignorant of the largest-selling, most-studied, most-influential, most-written-about, most-important book of all time, which Abe Lincoln said is: "God's greatest gift to mankind, revealing all that the Savior has to give."
God is the judge [John12:48], and He says unrepentant adulteresses like Amy are His enemies [James4:4] enroute to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9]. If you refuse to listen, you won't hear! [Jn14:21-4]
Do not judge.. Lest YOU be judged... For the way you judge,,, you will be judged.....And why do you look at the speck in your brothers eye,,, when you cannot see the log in your own eye ?????? God wants to know.... Bless you Amy Grant !!!!!
@mysticunicorn1968, you can opine for pages, but if you have no Scriptural support, you have no more authority than the unrepentant, unbelieving children of disobedience, like Amy, whom God says have made themselves His enemies [James4:4]. She is in on-going adultery right now [Mark10:12, Rom7:3, 1Cor7:10-11, Luke16:18], as God Himself judges [John12:48, 1Cor6:9, Heb10:26-27]. Christians believe God and love Him [John14:21-24]; Amy does not. She may be beyond hope [Heb6:4-6].
Today marks the one year anniversary of the death of my Grandfather. He was one of the most special men I've ever had in my life! He loved his wife and family more than anything (even Nebraska football and the Cubs)! He never left anywhere without telling us how much he loved us! I love and miss you Grandpa! My world just isn't the same! I dedicate this song to you, because you weren't only my grandfather, you were one of my best friends!
I love this song!! Friends are friends forever through the Lord Jesus Christ!! You may lose friends is this life but if you are a child of God, you know that one day you'll be with your friends again in Heaven!!
This is my favourite song! ever! even if I think its for a very close person that died..i LOVE it! really I dedicate this song to my Teacher that I miss very much
When I graduated from Mena High school in 1989 I was in the choir and we sang this song for the ceremony. I almost didn't make it through without crying. It was really special.
@yeeeaaawhooo Why do you look at the speck in your neighbor's eye when there is a plank within your own? Christ said let he without sin throw the first stone, you hypocrite.
Thank you Barb K, for giving me this album in 1984, while I was up at school at SUNY New Paltz, and searching in my life to know more about Christ! It was this first album by Michael W. Smith, and Amy Grant's Age To Age album that taught me so much!(The album was called the Michael W Smith Project) This song will always remind me of you! Whereever you are, I hope your happy! Love, BobbyK I think you lived in Milton, N.Y.!
es maravilloso como realmente el amor de DIOS se manifiesta en nuestras vidas ;te invito a tener un encuentro personal con EL no te vas arrepentir......
@elsiefloyd, what any Christian can see and understand is that you are a phony who does not know God's Word. None of the reasons He gives for failure to hear or heed Him are good: [John8:47; John3:20; Rom1:28; 1John3:8; Rom11:8; John12:40; 2Thes2:11-12].
God's Word does not return void. When you take offense at God's Word, or flee from the Light, or are embarrassed of Him in this adulterous and sinful generation, you show your true self -- not a pretty picture!
@elsiefloyd, silly girl, those are God's Words, not mine!
He's the One Who tells us all the things you found so offensive: [Luke8:21; John14:21-24; James4:4; Heb10:26-27; 1Cor6:9; Eph5:6; Matt7:23; John12:48].
He also tells us why people find God's Word offensive, and why such don't hear or heed Him: [John8:47; John3:20; Rom1:28; 1John3:8; Rom11:8; John12:40; 2Thes2:11-12].
We believers believe Him, unbelievers don't, or they would STOP committing adultery, given the eternal consequences.
@yeeeaaawhooo You still do not get the point and it's useless to stay on this merry-go-round with you. And to reiterate, I do not call God or his words hateful. I call the way you use them against people, in the fashion you do hateful. Understand that if you don't anything else.
yo, elsiefloyd, why do you take such offense at God's Word? Why do you call Him hateful when He tells us who are His family [Luke8:21], who loves Him and who doesn't [John14:21-24], who are His enemies [James4:4], and who are going to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9]? It is, at minimum, arrogant of you to call Him hateful when He promises His wrath to the children of disobedience [Eph5:6, Matt7:23].
Do you truly expect to change the truth of John12:48 by putting your head in a bucket?
@elsiefloyd, are you the CINO proposing to replace God's Word with her own vain imaginings? The one who doesn't know who God says are His family [Luke8:21], who loves Him and who doesn't [John14:21-24], who are His enemies [James4:4], and who are going to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9]. Are you also an unrepentant adulteress like Amy or an Herodias who thinks that censoring God's Word will change His mind about the children of disobedience? He promises them His wrath [Eph5:6, Matt7:23]. Heed Him!!!
@yeeeaaawhooo Are you one of the FC from Whitesboro who is willing to spew your own hatred, not God's, on people willing to sit by and listen? It would give me great pleasure to tear down your ill written attempt to belittle me and others on this site, but that is not the way. I pity you, I am sad that this is the path you have chosen to try to be a witness for God. Matthew 7:2-For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
Can the owner of this video PLEASE remove the hate mongers comments! Nothing looks worse than a proclaimed Christian acting as the judge and jury of God's children. Does anyone recall the following and how it played out?
John 8:7......He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. So, someone get me this poster's autograph for I think we have found the first 'sin free' human. To be continued.....
........After all, who else would feel so completely superior that they would be willing to make such hateful and disparaging remarks about another person? If you think this is what God would call you to do then you are sadly mistaken. God calls on us to be forgiving and loving in the same ways as His Son. I don't believe the words written by 'yeeeaaawhooo' would have ever come across Jesus' lips. Not only is it another example of a bad witness for God it is disgusting.
yo, robert, you may be listening, but you aren't hearing God's Word. None of the reasons He gives for not hearing/heeding Him are good: [John8:47; John3:20; Rom1:28; 1John3:8; Rom11:8; John12:40; 2Thes2:11-12].
When you call God's Word "self-righteous swill," that's a whole lot worse than being ashamed of His words [Mark8:38].
If you continue contradicting God's Word [John12:48, 1John3:4-9], and behave accordingly, you will get to share Amy's fate [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9, Eph5:6, Matt7:23].
You're just full of self-righteous swill, aren't you. Do you know what the apostle James said about breaking one law and you're breaking them all. You spend too much time looking at everyone else's flaws. There are none righteous, not one. Get off your fanatical pedestal and realize it.
In case you aren't aware of it, king David sent a man into battle to steal his wife. God still accepted him after he repented. God doesn't advocate wrongdoing, but, God is not like you.
To my brothers and sisters in Christ: I desperately need your prayers as I have been in severe, constant pain since I herniated 2 discs in my back on the job in 1998, So, in 199, I had back surgery, that after 6 hours was finishe, took almost a year to recover a little, but the constant, continual pain I live in every waking moment is so painfulm, like someone twisting a knife in my back! So, please get family, friends, pastors, and church members to pray for me! I will hug you all in heaven!
@Godman123able, you have much study to do to show yourself approved, newbie. [Hebrews5:12-14]
Why do you claim redemption without repentance? Why do you disparage and take such offense at God's Word? Have you not read John12:48? Has God given you His Word in vain? We have no power to condemn anyone; Amy is condemned by her willful disobedience! Why don't you believe God when He says James4:4, Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9. Eph5:6? Are you an unbeliever?
I am dumbfounded by the comments I have Bn reading on here. I see a lot of children by the remarks u make. But children of God should nvr treat/talk/comment/judge anyone the way I see has happened on here.... As a person who is far to often judged by my 'unconventional ways' and separating myself from 'the ways of this world' I can tell u from my heart, one that's Bn so grief stricken by the sudden loss of a 15 y/o son, n judged so critically by family n friends, bc I didn't grieve the way 'the
Missing my sister in Christ- Rachel Yates Nelson. I remember when we sung this song in church together. Only God knew then just how much n how similar our faith wud be tested. I pray u won't lose ur faith in this test ur going thru that seems so UNFAIR! Terrible things happen to even God's children n He knows we've had our share! Still lifting u up n a
@RiversCards (aka. RioFlujo), the very kindest thing I could say to you is Heb5:12-14. You seem very immature. You need to study to show yourself approved! You seem intent on emasculating God's Word by either attributing His pronouncements to me, or worse yet, not believing Him. Where is the love in remaining silent while little ones are led to sin by Amy's adulterous celebrity model? Herodias didn't gain Heaven by calling for John the Baptist's head.
Romans 2:3 So when you, a mere man, pass judgment on them and yet do the same things, do you think you will escape God's judgment? Leviticus 19:18 "'Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD. Mark 12:31 The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no commandment greater than these."
WHICH ONE OF YOU HAS NO SIN? Luke? 6:37 "Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Romans 3:9 What shall we conclude then? Are we any better? Not at all! We have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under sin. YOU ARE CALLED TO LOVE, NOT TO CONDEMN, REPENT!

@yeeeaaawhooo You may think you can condemn such people, but you are just as bad, and you have no excuse! When you say they are wicked and should be punished, you are condemning yourself, for you who judge others do these very same things. (Romans 2:1 NLT). The problem here @yeeeaaawhooo, is inside you, where does your pain stem from? Why are you so unforgving? Don't you know why Jesus hung on the cross? Matthew 7:1 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
@yeeeaaawhooo Do not attempt to twist my words or the Lords, Clearly Matthew 12:31 says; And so I tell you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.
The MOST significant aspect of any CHRISTIAN is their LOVE, where is your love? You are FAILING the #1 Commandment John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. and WHO PUT YOU IN CHARGE OF FORGIVENESS?
@RiversCards, don't you know blasphemy is NEVER forgiven? [Matt12:31] It's blasphemy to attribute to satan what is of the Holy Spirit. God's Word convicts, sin condemns. God's Word is the eternal judge [John12:48], and He says unrepentant adulteresses make themselves His enemies [James4:4] and go to hell [Heb10:26-27; 1Cor6:9]. Believers believe Him; clearly, Amy does not. Why don't you believe Him? God says if Amy loved Him [John14:21-24] she would keep His Commandments, including 1Cor7:10-11.
@voiceoftruth25, it’s far, far worse than your foolish “He doesn’t like sin” statement. God hates sin so much that those like Amy, who refuse to repent of adultery, go to hell. God says so! [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9] The sexually immoral, a/t God’s definition, who think they can band together, tell each other they’re OK, and make up their own theology to allow them to clutch to their sin and have salvation, too will discover like Herodias and the rich young man, that they CANNOT! [Matt7:23]
@yeeeaaawhooo Ok. First off, I was rude to you in my last post, and I am sorry. But even if Amy Grant is an adulteress, WE are not supposed to judge others. we can POINT OUT their sin, but we cannot go beyond that. The way I am seeing things, you are stepping beyond that boundry. This is only my opinion. We are supposed to LOVE one another, and cutting people down just isn't the way to do that. And my comment about God not liking sin... ok I'll give you that I didn't say it quite right. :-)
@voiceoftruth25, thank you. You are a big person. Welcome to the family. God bless you.
You will discover that there are many people around us who profess to be Christians, but who deny God's Word, and who refuse to let go of the things that offend God, and to love Him and follow Him as He prescribes [John14:21-24]. His Way is not always the one that requires no sacrifice and makes you happy and rich like Amy or the rich young man at Mark10:21. Lustfully, Amy denies God's Word at Mark10:12.
@yeeeaaawhooo I know what you are saying here, becuase I did the exact same thing before God finally broke through to my heart. His mercy found me, and I just pray that it will find Amy.
@voiceoftruth25, once I found a pastor friend in his office in deep sadness. When I asked what was wrong, he said, "We can't save them all." It reminded me of Christ at Luke13:34, Mark10:21, and Matt9:36.
God's love is immense, and His mercy endures. But, He also is holy, righteous, and just; many people like Amy who want to have their sin and salvation too, deny that. God does allow us to choose to go to hell, and He even gives some over to their own counsel and the lusts of their heart.
@yeeeaaawhooo Yep. I can see this in many diffrent places, because I saw it in MY OWN refelction when I looked in a mirror in the past. As the old saying goes: you can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't have your sin and God too!
@jmorganf, it is precisely because God is holy, righteous, and just that He says unrepentant adulteresses, like Amy are going to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9]. He, indeed, is the judge, and He is no liar. What He says is true [John12:48] and will come to pass [Matt7:23]. Unrepentant adulteresses who do not believe Him, and falsely think they can continue as children of disobedience [1Cor7:10-11] have sold their inheritance for a bowl of on-going adultery stew.
@yeeeaaawhooo God loves all his children, especially his religious fruits, but he's slightly allergic to his religious nuts. God will be slightly allergice to you, I'm sorry to say. Obviously you have something against adultry, which can be a good thing, but God is forgiving, and I highly doubt anyone is going to think, "Amy Grant is so amazing, i love her so much, I'm gonig to cheat on my spouse like her." If they do, they need help.
@yeeeaaawhooo and how, so easily, you sit on the throne of judgement, can we say 'narcissism of minor differences'? if we live in humility, as we are supposed to, then we have no heart to judge others, as we are too busy loving our God!!
This is the senior's song at our final concert every year. We have a slide show of all the senior's going while we sing. It is a good reminder of what high school is all about. That the friends you make there will always be there for you.

God is a Righteous Judge not man. If Amy Grant has repented for her sins and God has forgiven her, who are we to judge. Let him who is without sin, cast the first stone. This is a great song!
How hypocritical and empty this rings in the mouth of an unrepentant adulteress who lives in daily disobedience of God's commandment to the married at 1Cor7:10-11. Secular people wail and moan about losing their friends, while hypocrites like Amy Grant croon to them of friendship while making themselves enemies of God [James4:4] and selling their inheritance in Heaven for a bowl of stew [1Cor6:9]. People who love adultery more than they love God will experience His promise at Matt7:23.
@yeeeaaawhooo Let me guess... You have something against Michael W. Smith too? The way you post critical comments, I wonder if you have a social life, or if you are an embittered old person hiding in your house because you were hurt, so you act "Holier than thou." God love us ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He doesn't like SIn, but He is a God of mercy! You seem to forget this!
@yeeeaaawhooo The DEVIL is an Accuser, and the DEVIL is a legalist in similiar mannerisms like that of the Pharacies. Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. (Romans 2:1) and any of you who judge others adultery ought to first consider your own; But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. Matthew 5:28
quien te ha dado a ti el condenar a alguien , no eres perfecto, eres uno mas .EL UNICO QUE JUZGA ES DIOS.somos todos pecadores lo unico que nos redime es su gracia divina, por eso callate man.
It is written.. "For ALL have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God"...and that does include you my brother. Jesus also said..."whosoever here is without sin..cast the first stone" Now, I am a messianic Jew..a Levite to be specific...and what is rubbing me wrong is the fact that you feel you can sit in the judgement seat of the Most High God and condemn another. Do you not know that judgement belongs to our God? How can "one" sinner...judge another? DON'T JUDGE!

"hypocritical" who is Judging is who? Doesn't the bible of the Christian Faith say "Judge and you shall also be Judged"? Christians, your God requires nothing from you for your Salvation but just remember who really are! We are One, We God being Human! - Michael T. Jarvie
@yeeeaaawhooo "Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone." You know, even though I am VERY well versed in theology, i have zero interest in going back to church because of judgemental half-witts like you and the other 77 people who liked your comments. Regardless of her (and your) inability ot be perfect, have you stopped and considered how many people this song has inspired to remember the better things in life? You are the one who needs to repent - Leave Amy to God, and tend to you.
@yeeeaaawhooo She is guilty of adultery perhaps but let he/she who is without sin cast the first stone. Unlike most of us, God is more willing to forgive. David was a man after God's own heart, yet he committed adultery & had the husband of the woman he was to take as his wife killed. He coveted his neighbor's wife & God punished but still forgave him because God loves us all & forgives us all even when we disobey. Please try to do the same. Don't pass judgment unless you can face it as well.

@yeeeaaawhooo, Who are you people to judge someone. Shame on you. God will judge. Remember he is a merciful God who will forgive those who repent. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Why don't you spend some time praying about your own sins.
@yeeeaaawhooo good for YOU.For saying it JUST as it is.Theres very few children of God these days that will tell it like it is for fear of the standard accusations of being judgmental;hypocritical;UNloving:UNGodly. And SO many hold back what they feel and think ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY HAVE IT BASED ON GODS HOLY WORLD.Because they are too weak minded and weak willed to deal with an onslaught of resentment from those who are "star struck" fans of those who have shown WHO and WHAT they really are.
Awesome song, but bittersweet for me to hear. Reminds me of my friend who passed away a couple of years ago. R.I.P. Elaine Hepp! You are in the hands of God, and I will see you again someday!
I love this song about enduring friendship, which is not diminished due to distance. As a family, we experienced this with friends of us, when as Missionaries, we moved to Africa and then to Tiawan ROC.
I adore this song, someone copied and pasted my channel and put a very bad remark on about it that was not made by me. I love all Michael's work as well!
When I was principal at Seattle Christian in Seattle WA, my family and I were preparing to leave for the Belguim Congo for a 1 year stint as Missionaries, serving as Headmaster of a school. The school, the students, the parents, the PTA and the teachers all sung this meaninful song about the enduring relationship of Christian friendship. It brought tears to all our eyes. God is so good to give us good friends.

Don't glory in your ignorance. Heed God's Word!!

You better read Rev22:19.

Blessed Be.

Such is not a good long-term strategy, as the consequence will be to share the eternal fate of such children of disobedience as Amy [1Cor6:9, Eph5:6, Matt7:23, Heb10:26-27], apostates [Heb6:4-6, 2Pet2:20-22], blasphemers [Matt12:32], those given over by God [Rom1:28, Rom11:8], and other unbelievers [John8:24].
yeeeaaawhooo 6 months ago
@Paxlesus, and so you do not hear Him! The apology you will have to make is not to the world, but -- likely too late -- to God for being ashamed of His words, and not believing Him. While you seek, like Amy, to embrace the world, it is John the Baptist whom Christ valued above all men, and the martyred Apostles who stood, as you deem, disagreeably in the minority.
Ah, but when the unrepentant adulterers of the world applaud you, you know you are not in God's favor [John15:19, James4:4].

In the same way, I can only conclude that you are sincere, but in your sincerity, you have taken to gossip and backbiting against a - possibly - backsliding believer.

(TBC)

[Jn14:21-4]

It is time to repent! [Rev3:16]
yeeeaaawhooo 8 months ago 12
@elsiefloyd, silly girl, those are God's Words, not mine!
He's the One Who tells us all the things you found so offensive: [Luke8:21; John14:21-24; James4:4; Heb10:26-27; 1Cor6:9; Eph5:6; Matt7:23; John12:48].
He also tells us why people find God's Word offensive, and why such don't hear or heed Him: [John8:47; John3:20; Rom1:28; 1John3:8; Rom11:8; John12:40; 2Thes2:11-12].
We believers believe Him, unbelievers don't, or they would STOP committing adultery, given the eternal consequences.

yo, elsiefloyd, why do you take such offense at God's Word? It is, at minimum, arrogant of you to call Him hateful when He promises His wrath to the children of disobedience [Eph5:6, Matt7:23].
Do you truly expect to change the truth of John12:48 by putting your head in a bucket?

In case you aren't aware of it, king David sent a man into battle to steal his wife. God still accepted him after he repented. God doesn't advocate wrongdoing, but, God is not like you.

RiversCards 10 months ago

Lustfully, Amy denies God's Word at Mark10:12.
yeeeaaawhooo 10 months ago 12
@yeeeaaawhooo I know what you are saying here, becuase I did the exact same thing before God finally broke through to my heart. His mercy found me, and I just pray that it will find Amy.
voiceoftruth25 10 months ago
@voiceoftruth25, once I found a pastor friend in his office in deep sadness. When I asked what was wrong, he said, "We can't save them all." It reminded me of Christ at Luke13:34, Mark10:21, and Matt9:36.
God's love is immense, and His mercy endures. But, He also is holy, righteous, and just; many people like Amy who want to have their sin and salvation too, deny that. God does allow us to choose to go to hell, and He even gives some over to their own counsel and the lusts of their heart.
yeeeaaawhooo 10 months ago 12
@yeeeaaawhooo Yep. I can see this in many diffrent places, because I saw it in MY OWN refelction when I looked in a mirror in the past. As the old saying goes: you can't have your cake and eat it too. You can't have your sin and God too!
voiceoftruth25 10 months ago 5
@jmorganf, it is precisely because God is holy, righteous, and just that He says unrepentant adulteresses, like Amy are going to hell [Heb10:26-27, 1Cor6:9]. He, indeed, is the judge, and He is no liar. What He says is true [John12:48] and will come to pass [Matt7:23]. Unrepentant adulteresses who do not believe Him, and falsely think they can continue as children of disobedience [1Cor7:10-11] have sold their inheritance for a bowl of on-going adultery stew.
