This actually looks pretty similar to most 80's-90's version of East/South-east Asian cities in places such as South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Singapore. I'm not sure about Japan. However, let's not forget that a few of this photos are time stamped year '89, such as the one in 3:56. This actually shows that Pyongyang's develompments are actually on par with other East Asian cities until the 90's, where it's development stopped, partly due to the North Korean famine in the 90's.
Because of local prices and because of how different and unique this place is, this could in the near future become a magnet for the tourist industry. It's only a matter of time when. Visas have to be made easier for this purpose for this to happen. Just riding through any street there is like being in another world. That in itself is building curiosity and just that is already attractive.

There are one or two hints or vestiges of interesting architecture (1:31) but the city looks hum drum and unappealing. Of course, stunning scenery can always enhance the look of any city.

It is ugly beyond belief- devoid of any parks, vegetation, meeting places like coffee shops, etc. In short, anything that a normal city would have, like street hawkers, vendors and the like. The predominant color here is a depressing grey with some splashes of red for the signage and propaganda.

This actually looks pretty similar to most 80's-90's version of East/South-east Asian cities in places such as South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Singapore. I'm not sure about Japan. However, let's not forget that a few of this photos are time stamped year '89, such as the one in 3:56. This actually shows that Pyongyang's develompments are actually on par with other East Asian cities until the 90's, where it's development stopped, partly due to the North Korean famine in the 90's.

Because of local prices and because of how different and unique this place is, this could in the near future become a magnet for the tourist industry. It's only a matter of time when. Visas have to be made easier for this purpose for this to happen. Just riding through any street there is like being in another world. That in itself is building curiosity and just that is already attractive.

NK has some very well built cities its just ever since Kim Il Sung died who was a decent economist and putting Kim Jong Il who has no economic expertise what so ever into power the country is going to go downhill, note that almost every building was built before 1994(Kim Il Sungs death).
