Hey! I really liked your video. You should think about submitting it to the Mercury Film Festival, starting June 3rd. You could win a free outboard or a fishing trip. You can find more information about rules, prizes, and eligibility at the Mercury website.
@playaman1337 im 13 and i caught a 4 foot hammerhead in boca Grande so you should be able to catch that it took me 30 minutes to reel it in though its a hard fight
Foul...the guide knows the tarpon will probably die in this scenario (which happens frequently) because he's tired and has limited mobility while hooked up...cant understand why they didn't cut the line and give the tarpon a chance. Tarpon is catch and release, so after taking pictures with the remains it was most certainly tossed overboard for the shark to finish.
This guide might can find fish but he has poor appreciation for the environment that pays his bills.
In this situation i dont think too many people would go "oh geeze, look theres a hammerhead shark going for the tarpon on my line... hand me the knife so i can cut the line and let the little fella get a running start."
- it would probably be more like
"hey whats tha- OH S***! ITS A SHARK! AH HOLY CRAP LOOK AT HIM EAT THAT! WOOOOO! DID YOU GET THAT ON TAPE?!?!"
Yah, I think thats a little more accurate in this situation.
As the guide in that video, I reply, I appreciate all fish and fishing with great respect. I have cut off many if given the chance. BTW That shark came from nowhere 10 feet of milky water, shark cut the line so tarpon was not on our line has it was eaten. And for the record the customer was videoing prior, not like he went better get this on tape. You can see the full tape at my profile including where I tried to chase the shark away from the tarpon
