  • It's actually illegal to refuse payment in pennies, as they are legal tender.

  • Someone needs to buy a shit ton of stuff at office max and try to pay with just pennies and see if they actually would take it haha

  • Easy to count how many they are. Mass 1 penny. mass briefcase without pennys, then mass all together and - breifcase, / penny mass.

  • at least she was nice

  • LOL priceless... but seriously, wtf do you do with all that pennies???

  • The guy said he had 200,000 pennies. That's $2,000.00 The ring was over $3,000.00. Bitch tried to cheat the jeweler!!!! FFUUUUUAAAAA

  • Germany is paying for todays atrocities. Its still is the same Nazi country.

My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during five and a half years by the BND which is the renamed GESTAPO. Because of our homepage linked on my channel. I recorded more than 450 hours of video which ended up in the legal system. The BND continued to torture my brother for 1.5 years under the cover of the "legal system". Markus Bott was murdered by the BND on 11.7.09. See my channel and homepage

  • I wonder if he bought that piece of rolling suitcase from officemax's infamous luggage isle

  • OH WOW. SO MANY PENNIES

  • With legal tender??? Don't you know he is a comedian so of course he won't have the police involved!!!

  • @buttfuck6969 try again, you're wrong. Any company is allowed to deny any customer service for whatever reason they choose. And in this case they are being denied service because of the pennies. Just because it's legal tender doesn't mean I can buy a house with it or even a piece of gum, they don't need to give me service.

  • @Normister Not any company... private companies....

  • is that the guy from collegehumor?

  • That is so funny!

  • Merchants can say up front if they won't accept certain types of currency. If there is a sign out front that says "no cash" it's perfectly legal

  • they could weight one, and compare the weight

  • in Canada, you cannot pay more than 24 pennies for any purchase

  • weigh them all, divide by the weight of one penny xD

  • LOL my friends gave me 2000 penies for my birthday, now i know what to do with them!!!!

  • lmfao at 0:53 IN...PENNIES?

  • @RobotHerd You are wrong. Yes, all US currency is legal tender for all purchases; however, there is no Federal Law mandating that a person or organization must accept currency or coins as a method of payment for the purchase. It is their own choice.

  • Comment removed

  • @jacobsky18 "all US currency is legal tender for all purchases"

This is not technically true, 1 cent coins are only considered legal tender in a group of less than 100 for a given settlement of debt. The only exception clause being in the case where the debt is irreversibly incurred (for example food has already been eaten) in which case the vendor is required to accept any large note or large amount of coins.

  • @RobotHerd Why did you remove your commment, was it because you found out that you were wrong again? Even the Source that you provided proved that I was correct. You proved to me that you are that much more of a dumb ass, Congrats!!!!

  • how about you weigh one penny then weigh them all...see how many there are

  • Well in Canada the cashier has the right to reject any more then a dollar worth of pennies. Because it wastes time (counting them) and that tends to piss off both the cashier and any/all customers in line/waiting.

    However, the prank was hilarious!

  • The jewelry store in fact does not have to accept the pennies. They have a right to refuse a sale.

The penny trick only works if you are previously in debt to somebody, as in after eating at a restaurant or paying a parking ticket.

  • @memphis148 look at this video again lol.....31 people seem to think they do have to accept it. I would have thought they might but I googled it and seen what you said is true.

  • Today the USA dollar is backed by nothing just bunch of air and paper.

  • want free money/xbox live/shopping on amazon? then go to either or both of my free money vids and sign up, you will get an instant 250 if you are from the US/UK/Canada!

  • WHERE... THE... FUCK... DID YOU GET SO MANY PENNIES FROM?

that bag must have been FUCKING HEAVY!!!

  • @1:18 : Divide total mass of all pennies by total mass of 1 penny. If you weigh it with the case, then also subtract the mass of the case with nothing inside it. Take an estimation, rounding the answer to the nearest ones place...if it's anywhere near 400,000 then yeah, it's all good.

    I ain't counting 400,000 pennies o_o

  • cool idea !

  • HaHaHaHa this is soso funny.

  • By law they DO NOT have to take this. The Legal Tender Act says the only people that are required to take it is when you are paying a fine for example a parking ticket to get your car back.

  • Stupid

  • Dang...I only have about 1,000 pennies...He's got me beat. D:

  • ...He said 200,000 pennies, that's not enough

  • You could always weigh it to see how much it's worth.

  • I was running the store, I wouldn't take that many pennies either. It's a lot harder to have than much money all in pennies than it is to have it in dollars.

  • xD thats just epic, musta taken forever to get all the pennies for that :3

  • lol good i would be like ok you count them ill take them

  • I throw pennies at the floor

  • Spread em out on the floor!

  • i liked it! if you want to buy an engagement ring for your girl, check out the donnaliza collection - it's affordable and looks real! Just search donnaliza on google and youll find it.

  • they have to take your pennies they can't say no, unless they have a sign that change must be rolled. but i highly doubt that a jewelry store will expect to be taking change at all. and it's legal tender so they have to take it or you can get the police involved. and maybe if you're black you can get away with racial discrimination :)

  • @buttfuck6969

if we're black or chinks or brownies, we can get away with 2 charges at once. Racial discrimination & a federal offense for not accepting the change. SUE THEIR ASS!!! ^^

  • @buttfuck6969 in my coutry 1 pennie is 1gram

  • @buttfuck6969 business and person actually do not have to accept your pennies. The only way a business would have to accept your pennies is in cases of a legal contract! Of coarse the U.S. Government cannot refuse pennies either. Don't believe me google it!

  • @buttfuck6969 i can tell you are ignorant and stupid becasue of your name, but no, they dont HAVE to take your money under any circumstance, they can refuse service to anyone they wish

  • @swixomix which am i then? ignorant, or stupid? and yeah they can refuse service to someone for a legitimate reason. but it is legal tender, and refusing it would be illegal.

  • @buttfuck6969 its not illegal just bad bussiness.

  • @jushootem it is illegal, unless they specify that any change must be rolled... because the government dispenses pennies, just the same as any other form of currency, if they take a 100 dollar bill, they MUST take a penny. no matter that its just 1 cent, it's still legal tender dispensed by the government, why would they make a form of currency, if it could be declined...

  • @buttfuck6969 "they have to take your pennies they can't say no"

No, that's a total myth. No seller is under any legal obligation to sell. I can have a shop and refuse to sell to someone without any reason at all. If I have a racist or discriminatory reason, then the police can get involved.

  • @MrMonkeyspanner sorry bud, you're wrong.

  • @buttfuck6969 from wikipedia:

"Shopkeepers can reject large banknotes — this is covered by the legal concept known as invitation to treat. However, restaurants that do not collect payment until after a meal is served would have to accept that legal tender for the debt incurred in purchasing the meal."

For a succinct and common example, also see the 'invitation to treat' concept.

  • @MrMonkeyspanner sorry bud, you're wrong.

  • @buttfuck6969 no they dont actually only if it is a debt owed do they have to take it. Not a debt like purchasing a product from a store. Nice try though.

  • @ejunkulator sorry bud, you're wrong.

  • @buttfuck6969

Note that the "Legal Tender" clause refers to all _debts_. When you go into a store and buy something, there is no debt. You give them the money, then they give you the item. You only have a debt if you own money for something you have received, but haven't paid for yet.

If you're want to buy something in a store, that store can set the terms of payment, and you can choose to abide by those terms, or you can go somewhere else. A store can legally refuse coins as payment.

  • @ejunkulator You are actually dead wrong. Legally No one can refuse a type of payment whether that be pennies dimes cash anything as long as they have the means to. Ie a debit machine or whatever they can not denie a payment people get sewed all the time over it

  • @buttfuck6969

Oh and one more thing. I just looked at your channel and by the looks of it your one huge waste of time and space. Stop trolling find something better and more productive to do. Nobody apparently likes you. SO maybe just smash your computer set your house on fire and kill yourself.

  • @ejunkulator i've got the highest rated comment on this video. sorry bud, you're wrong.

  • @buttfuck6969

Hey bud having the highest rated comment does not mean a damn thing. Maybe to a troll it does. But having 43 comments does not mean your right. Its just ignorant morons agreeing with a trolling idiot. Talk to a lawyer, call write your congressman, etc, etc, they will prove you wrong. I can go on all day and your not making me mad if you think you are. I am enjoying talking to an idiot.

  • @ejunkulator sound like yer gettin mad brosky, otherwise you wouldn't be insulting me. are you upset that im denying your retarded attempt prove someone wrong? keep trying to change my mind. because you're obsessed with me or something. you want to fuck butts with me, but you need to make sure i agree with your opinions, and im shooting you down. down down baby, yo' street in a Range Rover

Street sweeper baby, cocked ready to let it go...

  • @buttfuck6969 Merchants can refuse any monetary denomination: snopes.com/business/money/pennies.asp

  • @fedos sorry bud, youre wrong.

  • @buttfuck6969 It's funny that you insist that you're right when you have nothing to back up your claim and I provided counter evidence to it. Did you even bother to read the Snopes article? If I wanted to open a store and accept no form of payment except pints of hollandaise sauce then that's perfectly legal. You can't force a merchant to accept any form of currency. The law says the -government- must accept all legal tender.

  • @fedos sorry bud, you're wrong =/

  • @buttfuck6969Your absolutely right! It's great living in this time if your black! (Racial Discrimination) Perfect card race

  • @buttfuck6969 Actually, every store has the right to refuse service to anyone. That law only abides to bills that are needed to be paid.

  • @MrDoqq sorry bud, you're wrong.

  • @buttfuck6969 Yeah but stores have the legal right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.

  • I'm going to save my pennies and buy something at office max.

  • Does anybody know what that jewlery store is called/

  • I love counting coins, I'd do it for fun haha..

  • so a penny is not money

  • is this a jew joke?

  • jew.. .. .. ... .jk

  • in reply to jorge10928, this penny prank should take all the pennies to one of those machines make sure the cashiers watch him, get the recipt and watch the cashiers flip cause they will own him 10,000

  • @project24 to bad you would owe the store like a grand.

  • LOL fake laugh at 1:17

  • theres some machines that u can put in all your change into and it gives you a receipt with the amount you put in.. then take the receipt to the cashier at whatever store you're at and they will give you your cash

  • @ jorge10928 Ya, and they charge you 8.9%. NO DEAL

  • That guys hsould go to office max and buy the most expensive thin in pennies

  • Why make pennies, if nobody was really gonna accept them.

  • is mohaamd a amss murderer or rapist?

  • cool if he bought a house.....:-)

  • to the vault !!

  • lmao see how he just fliped open the case lol

  • By law, they HAVE to accept your pennies.

The penny is legal tender. Not accepting this currency is a federal offense.

  • Imagine if you win the lottery (lotto) and ending up with $10,000,000 in pennis????

  • oh shit!! ur right!! hahaaha

  • I would turn the pennies into quarters and fill a giant swimming pool haha

  • This is true!

  • lol i copy and pasted that comment and put it as my desktop background

    hhehehe

  • @noneofyob1zz Are you sure? I see signs at registers all the time that say things like, "No bills over $20 accepted." Also, every store has the right to refuse service to anyone they want. That means they have the right to refuse service to someone who wants to pay in only pennies. I think you're wrong on this one...

  • @noneofyob1zz true (geek)

  • @noneofyob1zz hahaha u watched that other video about the car ticket huh? :P

  • Comment removed

  • @noneofyob1zz and just plain stupid not to accept money

  • @noneofyob1zz shut up

  • @noneofyob1zz

I'm not sure about the US, but in England by law they don't have to. Anything over 20p in pennies they can legally refuse! Not many people actually know that but it's on the royal mint website.

  • @noneofyob1zz business and person actually do not have to accept your pennies. The only way a business would have to accept your pennies is in cases of a legal contract! Of coarse the U.S. Government cannot refuse pennies either. Don't believe me google it!

  • @noneofyob1zz Isnt there a law you cant pay over a certain amount in pennies.. there is in canada,

  • @noneofyob1zz No, it's not in a shop. If the sign said 100 dollar bills only, which it doesn't, that's legal. If it said no checks, legal, no debit, legal, no pennies, legal!

  • @noneofyob1zz But, they have the right to decline service

  • @noneofyob1zz So you are telling me you'd be willing to take thousands of pennies? I don't mind taking those pennies if they are up to $50. But to have pennies up to $4,000 is inappropriate.

  • @noneofyob1zz Exactly!

  • I think I saw this on a commercial once about the importance of pennies.

  • It never actually uses the hidden camera... ? Well, only twice.

  • these are so funny

  • i love these ads!

  • what doe she say when he aks if she takes cash?

  • I got one: "Man tries to pay for lap dance with pennies." lol

  • coin operated stripper? wheres the coin slot?

  • No Its like: "Ummm, I know you said 15 dollars, but, all I have is two pennies"

  • nothing like a fake video meant to be a prank with an advertisement in it.

How do I know its fake? Look at the tags. "Sketch, improv, spoof, parody"

Also, they would need these people in the video to sign release forms since this is an officemax advertisement. I doubt they would sign release forms especially if the camera is "hidden"

  • Wow, your really out there arn't you?

    lmfao. chill

  • okay dont have to be mean

  • Way to spoil the video, Rocktheboat59.

  • Which is why you have no friends.

  • idk pal, judging by your page you are the socially awkward pokemon player in school.

  • I don't play pokemon. I have no pokemon games

  • @Rocktheboat59 well like any show on tv they probably come out to them after the fact.

they never show how it ends because it doesnt ,what most likely happens is they tell them its a joke they sign a release and get a couple dollars.

  • shes mad dumb dude, ask the guy to go convert them to cash in the bank or take it and go do it yourself, im sure you can close the store for 30 minutes while you go convert them making $4000 for 30 minutes is a good deal.

  • I wish someone would go to OfficeMax already and try and buy something expensive with only pennies!

  • you say that in every video!!

  • I would...but I have no pennies

  • i will :) hidden camera ftw

  • @pennypranks my buddy bought a HP Touch-smart with only pennies

  • this guy was on Cash Cab!

  • its because shows like cash cab use payed actors. this guy is an actor.

  • perhaps but the guy said "i'm a comedian/actor"..so that might be the case lol

  • lol at least she was nice about it

  • why doesnt she just take it to the bank? pretty sure they have machines that count it hella fast.
