  • 22 Personas tienen basura en su cabeza. Gracias GENESIS por estar en mi vida.

  • It's Miracle.

  • The video is just a montage of other clips!!!

  • @MrKayley10 How shocking!

  • the beginning of the greatest band this world ever saw

  • Comment removed

  • Wonderful document, somewhat restored? You hear more from Tony Banks than you can see, was on his peak in these ARP soloist performance. Thanks

  • @HigherPoker One of the funniest comments that I have ever read. You deserve a standing ovation. Thanks.

  • in response to Pchematos comment genesis were a clever band musically who could write every song with complexity and brillance.I know and i like led zep and mike oldfield who are musically brilliant and untouchable also

  • powerful music

  • Even acknowledging that this kind of music was 90% mere technical exhibition and often lacked any meaning (a lot of this stuff is pretty garbage) it's outstanding to see how many people actually used to buy these records and fill these gigs. Musical taste was much better those days...

  • Two remarks:

    1) Phil Collins was and always will be a better singer than Peter Gabriel

    2) Steve Hackett was THE MAN!

  • @PChemato genesis with phil kinda sucks, it became some kind of pussyfied genesis, peter gabriel will always be the best genesis singer

  • im just saying that the instrumental part is beautiful

  • 4:20 ... one of the strong segments of the song

  • I am just Rubbing my Head at how they did it.. This Song is in 7/16 & is one of the Hardest Time Signatures known to Music.. If not THEE hardest! And they play it as though it were the jaws theme or something! HOW did they do it? I'm a Musician myself & after Ditching You tube for Soundcloud I Started to Experiment with Innovative Sounds & Vast Contrasts. And you know what? I Thought I was doing well until I heard this song! lol! It's just got everything going for it. Utter madness. Perfect.

  • @therealKINDLE This is the result of closing ones eyes, and using the imagination inside...put your thoughts to your instrument. Time signatures are only a form of measurement. Don't be bound by trying to fit your imagination into(simpler) patterns...... If you play guitar, watch your fingerboard hand as little as possible.Peace.

  • @therealKINDLE Don't forget Tony Banks is a Clasically trained pianist. Phil is such a fluid drumer it beggars belief, and Mike Rutherford is no exactly bed either, nor is Steve [Hackett] etc.

  • sorry gabriel fans , but this song belongs to mr collins and banks!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @KillingLies1 BULLSHIT I give the credit to Peter and Tony. Peter was the mastermind to Genesis.

  • @KillingLies1 exfingscuse me- vocals-flute oboe bass drum tamborine as well as grooming the lyrics, based on wasteland= ?

  • When Pete says "I will make my bed, with her tonight! He cried!" he sounds as if he owns the audience. His voice just booms through the audience with power and confidence. Btw, what costume is he wearing?

  • Thanks for this video - reminds me of such good times with my sisters!

  • I hate that little monster think than your singer created everything, when peter gabriel is the master of art rock with david bowie.

  • My progressive-ish group could use some votes:

    battle.rockstaruproar. com/u/_ARCTA_

  • QUE MUSICA AVANZADA PARA ESA EPOCA.

  • Un sogno....

  • This is truly the greatest music ever mad. No other group was better live in the 1970's or possibly ever. One of Tony Banks finest keyboard solos ever. Phil Collins drumming in time sequence is unheard of along With Mike Rutherford's Bass lines and Steve Hackett's beautiful melodic riff's.Peter's story telling type singing is also fantastic. What a tight and phenomenal group. Thank's again Tommy. Eargasmic. Why is there no live video of Seconds Out Cinema Show from Genesis out there?

  • 20 people didn't had a chocolate surprise

  • Thank you very much Tommygun..!!!

  • @HigherPoker thankyou for expressing that you are correct

  • Pretty sparse footage - but an excellent performance nonetheless.

  • Outstanding...if my grlfrnd wasn't sleeping I'd be shredding ...!!!

  • Wow, high quality.....

  • Great version. I am wondering though if the bass could be mixed down a bit. Keep up the fantastic job Tommy.

  • I'm an egg and I like Genesis

  • fuck its too good

  • Just so excellent..

  • so rubato .... that is beyond rock

  • Incredible music, wish I could have witnessed it live... but why is the last part missing?? Thanks anyway!

  • Eccezionale, sempre più bravo Tommygun 1028 nel reperire questi brani.

  • epic song

  • stupenda celestiale

  • the sountrack is Genesis live in Montréal 21-04-1974, I recognize the whistle at the begining of the song, same as my L'Ange Gabriel record. they filmed only tiny bits of the show in 8mm, so they re-run them over the length of the song. the best live record I've heard from Genesis, truely.

  • Cinema show é uma das composições mais belas do Genesis. Peter Gabriel nos faz viajar como se viaja nas belas imagens de um bom filme. Excelente e inesquecível.

  • Father Taresius takes a little trip back.

A Old man speaks about all he has lived through.

Romeo realizes that there is in fact more earth then sea.

Jullette dabs her skin, with pretty scents, consealing to appeal.

To me their is no mystery.... on Jesus...i mean Peter Gabriels, Dr Suess like brilliance. It puts Mother Goose to shame.....Oh Na Na Na.

  • Comment removed

  • From 6:20 and out sick solos from Tony Banks

  • hermosa musica, cinema show es tan magica.

amo a genesis, con peter gabriel eso si!

  • yo when the bass kicks in, it kills my speakers, they went with a super deep bass line

  • @TonyDucats Yup, that Moog Taurus always does the job :D

  • What a great jam, This is why YES and Phish exist.

  • Thank God (and hippies) for the 60's & 70's when music was real and free. If you guys are still out there, peace to all my long haired hippie freaks!! Love you guys!

  • Peter just never looks likes hes enjoying the sound!!!! Love ya peter!!! Gotta love the musci!! tytytytyytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytytyt....

  • Dommage que les images ne correspondent pas à l'audio !!!! mais la musique de Genesis restera toujours extraordinaire !!! (son vraiment très saturé, tout de même! ...)

  • Thank you so much for posting a vid of these beautiful vessels of the Music--it will always save us.

  • Géant comme toutes tes vidéos (désolé d'écrire en français lol). Merci !

  • What does the bald headed Gabriel bastard say about this now, probabaly very little, but should we denign its a classic by any means. Ofcourse not. I love Genesis from the early 1970's because they represent everthing that was good about then.

  • There is no one like GENESIS especially w Gabriel--MY Gods! I would have lost my mind in the 70s had it not been for them!! Thanks for posting!!

  • LOVE GENESIS.. CAMEL & GENESIS ...THE PERFECTION!

  • The only explanation of 20 dissatisfied visitors is that they expectet Julio Iglesias !!

  • Wonderful! There may never be another band like Genesis with Gabriel but check out Italy's The Watch...you may think you have been taken back to these days..not only do they do Genesis to perfection but their orginal music is superb!!! Sounds just like Genesis but with it's own identity...Steve Hackett plays with them when they go to the UK!!!!

  • @puppylover7117 Garden Wall are pretty good too.

  • Great music!

  • I tried hard to get the guitar part at debute, but not found continuity ! Originally on 12 strings accoustic guitar that was sounding like a harpshichord a bit.

  • great great live performance for a great great music from a great great band

  • 6:20 till end is sick!!

  • Whenever there is too much going on in my head, and the world get's to be too much, Genesis takes it all away! Any of the early album's will do. They are a wonderful bullshit removal system. Thank's Tommygun for the video, look forward to buying!!

  • @MWL4466 I wholeheartedly agree!!

  • @MWL4466 Imagine yourself standing in the front row listening/seeing this in live. Hackett and Rutherford picking, Gabriel doing his odd stuff, Phil tapping quite professionally his percussions in a musical way, and yes, Banks laying down the chords on Hammond and luring his synth... With just a touch of colour lights this transforms to magic even though you were never able to see this live. Kudos to you all 5.

  • This is great,, Iam Genesis fan since 1970,, thanks for sharing this great music videos, I live in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and always lsiten to genesis, bring to me the best remembers...

  • i cant wait to get this six hour live dvd. i love genesis but this period was just unexplainable. nothing will ever compare or come close to it

  • stavr0, I think it's nigh impossible for the world's best song to be "oversaturated," as played by Genesis themselves. I'm intimately familiar with pretty much all the best songs of the 20th or any other century, and this continues to rank No. 1 with me. Just my (and a few others') opinion!

  • Thank You Thank You for sharing with us. I am so fortunate to have seen them so many times back in the day.......didn't realize it then but if I only had a time machine to go back and relive the experience. To this day, best shows I have ever seen.

  • wew... jadi ingat pas pertama kali dengerin audionya ... lagu ini terasa aneh.... tapi pas lihat video nya .... kewreeeeennnn .... sound drumnya aku sukaaa (ngefans mode ON)

  • I was to their first concert in the US. My buddy and I walk out when it was over and just went "WOW". I knew then that Peter was on the road to greatness. It stll stands as one of the best concerts I have ever attended. In the company of ELP, Floyd, Zepllin, and many others.

  • Thanks for posting my favorite rock song ever Tommygun ( but no more commercial mails)

  • @drjekyll66 You Should Check The Flower Kings Cover They Make It Way Fucking

    Better.

  • @SpartanLaserCanon

Wat´s the matter with boy !?

Bad Night, bad sex or bad stuff !?

O.K the Flower KIngs are really good musicians. But this is the recording with the most charismatic singer ever ! Peter G. !

By the way listen to the musical box. These boys are instrumtal better than the original. Especially the Bass Player who also is the musical director !

    Greetings from Germany !

    Dr. J.

  • What a treat to see some familiar Selling England Tour footage with this level of sound quality. Many thanks; it's been my favorite song since '74!

  • a magical song......

  • Its great hearing Steve Hackett strong in this

  • @neonbreon steve hackett's way underated

  • Better than studio version?

  • One of the best reasons to want to invent time travel. Simply beautiful.

  • Neverending hearable until the end of the world

  • brilliant

  • stunningly perfect

  • Is the original material oversaturated as well?

  • @stavr0 this is the recording as I received it

  • @stavr0

The original studio verstion of this song (Cinema Show) and the rest are a very clean mix and simply wonderful to listen to.

The best early Genesis album, perhaps ? (Trespass for the true faithful ofc )

  • @Incudius Sorry I accidentally pressed thumb down :p

  • Hey, check out Moonlit Knight Genesis Tribute out here on youtube, and if your in the North West of england, come an check us out. Cheers ;-)

  • @SHAKEDOWN72

Hey! where about do you play in the North West of England

  • BRILLIANT

  • top of genius! Genesis made such a brilliant music ...ever heard again such a magnificent tune and lyrics by others . what a prefection!!!

    great post! long live progrock!

  • @Queenesy OK THE BEST MUSIC OF THE WORLD

  • God has whispered in my ears....

  • the REAL Genesis.

  • Genesis at their best before Peter left, then so to loose Steve......they were so damn good the best of all bands. GENESIS was #1!!!! Like a natural high, or meditational, so beautiful......

  • Magnificent, beautiful genius and certainly the best ever version of this classic song, brings back a lot of magical memories.

  • It seems just like yesterday when I saw this live. How lucky I have been in my life! Gabriel, Hackett, Banks, Banks, Rutherford, Collins - the whole was always greater than the sum of the parts

  • Thinking of my friend, David, who turned me on to Genesis and feeling somewhat sad as he passed several years ago. Rest in peace, my friend.

  • Peter and Phil singing together...wow that shiver...without a doubt, this is one of the best song of ever

  • Superba performance dei soli e veri GENESIS di sempre: Peter, Steve, Phil , MiKe e Tony; formazione unica e irripetibile.......

  • @PokerPlum Absolutely! But I still like their A Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering. Steve Hackett tried to keep their music together but became increasingly frustrated with the 'new direction' the band tried to go into. On stage playing short and more 'catchy' songs. After he left, that was it. But, they started making money! :))

  • Mister Steve Hackett simply special one of word music

  • fucking special

  • Mister Steve Hackett simply the best of Genesis member

  • What song did Genesis play on it's first Midnight Special in 1973? That's where I first saw them but could not remember what they played.

  • @NCMountainDavis I believed they played Watcher of the Skies and The Musical Box

  • @NCMountainDavis As i remember they played the knife and Peter Gabriel came out with one of his costumes

the one with the triangle mask..And i immediately thought OH NO ANTHER KISS! and i changed the channel.

    How wrong i was..luckily i latter discovered them :-)

  • which tour is this, is it actually Selling England?

  • @Xanaseb Yes, the Selling England By The Pound tour

  • @Tommygun1028 Congratulazioni

  • @Xanaseb I think this was the 74 leg of the tour, "The Black Show" in Montreal. Right Tommy?

  • You cut out the best part.

  • Genesis: Peter Gabriel, Mike Rutherford, Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett...

the gods of heaven sent them on earth to make us dream happily

    Thanks!

  • @nikovkalash00 You are right that. A joyful sound.

  • I saw this tour, on my 16th birthday, in Canada's Capital, in 1973.

Like many others, who have commented, it's always been a part of me.

From Genesis' first appearance on Midnight Special (same show as Steve Miller singing 'Fly Like an Eagle on 12 string) to Gabriel leaving.....aaaahhh good times.

The music remains absolutely wonderful and because of Youtube, I am reminded to pull that old vinyl out, slap it on a Technics, and sit back in aural and organic heaven.

  • Ogni volta che li ascolto rimango senza parole....non hanno eguali....

  • wHERE'S THE VIDEO THAT USED TO BE UP HERE WITH ALL THE BLACK AND WHITE MOVIE FOOTAGE?

  • Essa música é fantástica, leva para outra dimensão, um mundo de paz e harmonia

  • Thanks for posting all these. I have seen quite a few now.

Ok, you convinced me, I will buy one...

  • SEMPRE GRANDE...

  • the best band ever

  • excelente versión

  • Y'know, when I pick up a Genesis album to listen to it's never anything after Wind and Wuthering. Oh, they have the occasional song on the later ones but nothing to compare to the days before Steve Hackett left. Oh, and he's the only one that will still play complete songs from the old days.

  • like the version from seconds out better, this is still really good though.

  • genesis are awesome the best ong in the album

  • These shows were a wonder to behold live.

Selling England, The Lamb Lies Down... How fortunate I consider myself to have seen/heard them. True the band was more than the sum of it's parts, but when Gabriel left, the band was Genesis was no more.

  • aww, come on, you cut off the end. i wanted to hear the whole song!!

  • 10 minute limit on Youtube, sorry

  • @Tommygun1028

Thank you so much for all these Genesis songs!!!

  • 9:10-9:13 did God just exhale into my ears?

  • @anj0527 : Yes, I've often wondered what happens there. Was it created accidentally or intentionally? If so, how? Either way, it fits perfectly.

  • It's a shame the visuals bear no relation to the audio. But what audio! Astonishingly good band.

  • To comment on this vid' ? ..... well, the time is 5am in the morning, late in 1976, I'm riding my beloved Fs1-E moped to work 20 miles away ,to try and make it there for 6am, no mp3's or head phones, just the memorized music and lyrics of this great song ringing through my head to pass the time away, sang this and other tracks from the LP to myself to keep me sane!! (personal memories & still love this now.) hehe great stuff/.

  • Just brilliant.

  • this song is a 10 minute flight in first class seat to peter gabriel's mind and world. A true classic in progressive music.

  • Glad you like it (it's one of my favorite songs of all time) but don't give Peter Gabriel credit for the second half instrumental section. He wanted to leave it off SEBTP. Thank goodness he was outvoted on that one.

  • @LittleNemoTheDreamer "this song is a 10 minute flight in first class seat to peter gabriel's mind and world." it's wonderful what you said! I like very much the lyrics, even if I found some difficult in understanding, because I'm italian...anyway, what a song!

  • Yep: I agree that Peter Gabriel is a genius, but what we hear here is a complete joint effort from all members. It is awesome how all members completed each other on this classic Genesis 5-members line up. I can only describe it as: they found THE sound - and live they were as close as it gets to perfect. I listen to 70s Genesis for like 35 now - almost every day. I never get tired of it.

  • You said it, my friend. Absolutely..

  • @LittleNemoTheDreamer

    Banks wrote the lyrics

  • @LittleNemoTheDreamer don't want to be a d¡ck or something but Gabriel didn't wrote the lyrics, Banks did, and the music it's all Rutherford, Banks and Collins.

  • @negriux22 Collins hardly wrote anything for the band before the late 70's.

  • @ClearJack ok, so it was Banks and Rutherford who wrote this masterpiece, in fact I've read that Gabriel didn't like the second half

  • @LittleNemoTheDreamer It should be noted that Tony and Mike were the main songwriters at this point in the group's history, according to multiple sources.

  • favorite song from SEBTP

  • T. Banks is a little out on this one (we can all forgive him I assume), First time I've heard him miss that much..

  • Maybe the ARP has played him a bad trick with the portamento, there were no microprocessors in aid of the player at that time...

  • After 35 years, this song still gives me goosebumps. Thanks for uploading this.

  • @lekezenman

seriously, what are you talking about.

  • Comment removed

  • Give me the price of this dvd!

  • I've sent you all the info privately

  • Got all their original albums on the famous charisma label I even have from genesis to revelation on London label all brilliant recordings that stil stand the test of time.

  • If buy this dvd, what is the quality of the sound????

  • the quality of the sound is excellent. Some better than others, all encoded to Dolby Digital. I have other samples uploaded as well.

  • @jounimika

its actually quite good. considering the time, and stage that genesis recordings at that time were in, its a gem.

  • i'm to young to have been there, but i bet gabriel era genesis live was certainly more intimate and dramatic.

  • I love this song!

  • Timeless music

  • Abso-freakin-lutely, pokerplum! Their two next albums (A Trick and Wind & Wuthering) still had some moments, but they should've call it quits then, in 1976.

Happy New One for all prog rockers!

  • this is pure lsd...what a beatiful music really good music it was in this years beatiful

  • I wish i could get some LSD!

  • @Tommygun1028 LOL ;)

  • i love that genesis peaceful passages which puts you in trance...

  • is steve hackett the one with the twin neck guitar? is is that rutherford

  • Rutherford has the twin neck

  • not much songwriting like that anymore!! AMAZING stuff!!

  • Großes Kino!

  • awesome....i saw thm w/ PG in Detroit.. SEBTP tour,,,sooo goood.......when he left,,,the whole band over the course of 10 years turned into a top40radio hit machine for the record companies,,,art,,out the window

  • Woaahh.. Phil cut his hair.

  • when you don't have appropriate video material, sell it as a CD, not DVD. This sucks ... but Collins is great - on drums!
