I've seen the Original version, and both movies were crap!!!! most American men would not put up with a girl acting like that so i'm sure that's why it went straight to dvd, and I'm sure that mostly korean women favored this movie (that's why it did so well at the Korean box office), because they may feel that female lead is a strong and didn't take a back seat to her male counterpart.

I hope Elisha fired whoever told her it was a good idea to do this movie because it was an awful career move. The original movie had like a cult following, so it would be difficult for her to try and fill those shoes. Also, the Korean sensibility is a little different than the American's, and the humor doesn't work well in the US. The Korean version had so many things going for it, like a very good song, "I Believe", whereas, the US Version did not, so this movie did not do well.

There was a time when I used to think that Hollywood version is an ok ok remake of this film,but then I saw an ugliest remake of this film in Hindi known as "Ugly aur Pagli ".

I've only watched the American version, and I like it!. -I can feel the emotional turmoil that's going on with the hero, (but not so much of the women). The plots shine a spotlight toward the heroin, but focus with an adequate detail on the hero... so that men can relate to him better.

The key to appreciate this movie is NOVELTY. You'll feel the 2.36 minute more like an hour if it is the first time. -Thought will be filled with happy memories, therefore... you'll like this movie.

I enjoyed both versions, for different reasons. I think instead of trashing this American version, we should instead, accept the fact that it was made. Mimicry is a form of flattery. I'm glad they remade 엽기적인 그녀 (original film), because it shows that the producers at least have a sense of what a good movie is. There are much worse movies that get remade... trust me. Think of it as an extended marketing campaign for the original. Some see the remake and then watch the original.
