dont forget any eighth notes are played stacatto and especially the last notes before the triplets. its too flowy. everything else is good though :) more movement though lol
Great job! I'm learning this now. With the runs in the middle, on my sheet music, it says to play every second bar with your left hand. It makes the runs easier. =)
at 0:33 those first two notes played with your right hand, should be played with your left. they probably made it like that for convenience of smaller hands, but if your comfortable with it, then thats fine. :) just incase it makes it easier. great playing!
Can anyone give me some tips for Bars 17 to 22? Its getting the figers smooth thats the problem for me. If anyone can suggest an alternative finger pattern to me that would be much appreciated!
@yukikohohoho What I do is use 1 & 2 for the first third, and, using the sliding down technique that's often employed in blues grace notes, use 1 & 2 for the second third also. Then move the thumb over and use 1 & 3 for the third third, and 2 & 4 for the fourth. Now, for the third on the first beat of bar 10, you can use the sliding technique again, but, as this forces a rather annoying stretch from 4 to 5 for the next note, I find jumping to 1 & 3 easier.
see one thing I never understood is how swinging 8ths are the only 8ths you are supposed to play in jazz. It annoys me so much. You can still swing with straight 8ths. anyway I agree with this person somewhat. I try to play whats written in this case, play straiught 8ths where marked, and swing them where they are dotted.
if u play it real fast the 8ths have a 16th feel and it moves real well.
idiot there playing it right. If you look above the sheet music it says 2 quavers should be played as 2 triplets and its meana be in swing style so dotted notes arnt even needed.
Lovely playing but I am wondering if the pianists on YouTube will lose marks in their exam for playing the quavers between the triplets unevenly (apart from the bars where they are written as dotted quavers and semi-quavers). Is the distinction between the two different ways it is written being brought out sufficiently? Anyone else care to comment on this?
@kyokofull HI just dropped by. Very good I am learning this for my gr. 8 rcm. Obviously you can increase the speed but otherwise it was pretty clean. Here's a pointer from my teacher: This song has no dynamics so according to the scenario you should add your own dynamics. for example you can accent the chord AT 0:10 it will create more of an impact! Anyways good job :)
fairly decent job ! I was going to learn this one but instead chose Chanson Triste for my gr.8 rcm, well done though !
