  • The people in the backround are so awkward lol.

  • the oh sees!!!

  • I thought "block of Ice" meant cocaine, but my friend says that BOI is a keyboard effect, that thing y hear at the strat of th album track. neat, huh?

  • i uploaded 2 songs from the new album come check it out and maybe i'll upload all of it :p

  • I love how he eats his pick at the end.

  • These guys r actually good I was expecting pretentious hipsters but these guys are genuinely making some good music kudos

  • @jc1daddy2 i definatly thought they were pretentious hipsters, everysong is 16th note strumming and high pitched vocals noices, my ears still hurt

  • does anyone know what type of amp head or pa that is sitting on johns amp?

  • @malkiebroon who do you like anyway? You definitely sound like a bit of a knob to me. Nothing has to be complicated about music to make it enjoyable. We all have the right to be individual. I my opinion Thee Oh Sees are a good band along with a couple of John Dwyers other bands, especially the Coachwhips who in my opinion are a great band. He's a real creative force and he has balls and attitude which is more than can be said for most bands.

  • yawn

  • this band just kicked my ass in chicago.

  • why do they slow down so much

  • @fantasticcoprophilia because its awesome.

  • hi from the lowdowns s.f not much fun since the mummies trashwoman phantom surfers .....great stuff thanx to oh sees and who added this

  • what for

  • i like when he spits at 1:55

  • @SirRandolphWinston

fuck your melody, thats the whole point of garage you dumbass twat!!

  • @malkiebroon no the above is what shit garage is.......you know it requires some imagination. You hipster try hards listen to this stuff then bag britney spears or commercial music when they are just as unimaginative and repeatitive in their music as this shit!!! Get some brains.

  • @SirRandolphWinston 6 months to come up with that? yet again waht a twat, why go on to a bands page and slag them then wonder how people give you shit? i think you need to get yourself some brains, most good garage is low/fi with no melody fool!!

  • @malkiebroon your right i am being a bit hateful and scathing, everyone to their own music wise, i suppose some people like imaginative melodies mixed with creative insightful lyrics, then their are others who like banal repeative chords played to a bobby beat and crap singing of ultimately ambiguous lyrics meant to represent nothing, mean nothing, and inspire nothing but one of you mindless twats to buy an ipod and think you're alternative...ha.

  • @SirRandolphWinston why do you care so much. they're playing music and having a good time. why does everyone take such unserious shit seriously. do you think these guys care if there chords or anything don't meet your or anyone else's standards? no. they're just playing because they enjoy playing. nothing more, nothing less. come back down to earth and stop trying to over analyze shit that doesn't need or want to be analyzed. let music be and stop criticizing it.

  • Great stuff. Thanks for posting this.

  • I like this version better than the one on the cd i think, pretty good filming too!

  • i only like the CD version because they rock the shit out of it

  • awesome! SF music at its finest.

  • Nooooooooo beer on the re-201

  • Do hipsters even like garage/beach punkesque lo-fi shit?

  • trust me i them and they are not hipsters

  • I wasn't suggesting that you or the Oh sees are hipsters.

  • are you fucking lame?

  • Let me clarify, The Ohsees are the shit. I meant that it doesn't seem that hipsters would actually be able to get into garage rock. Since then my views have changed since the discovery of Vice magazine and their garage rock fetish.

  • postscript: whenever you're willing to take the massive cock out of your ass maybe you contribute to the conversation. With that said and all this objective genre bullshit aside, I would love to see them and Ty Segall play sometime soon.

  • Sounds like "On a Rope" by Rocket from the Crypt

  • So I'm confused, who did this first? As far as I can tell Block of Ice showed up on Thee Ohsees' "Master Bedroom..." album released in 2008. Where as Deuteronomy was released in 2007.

That is not to say it didn't exist outside of an album before the intel recorded it. Either way, I'm kinda partial to Thee OCS version.

  • well this video was put up in 2007 so im guessing thee oh sees did but i dno

  • Its an oh sees song covered by intelligence. Both versions are extremely good, the intelligence just managed to release it first. Although you could argue Can released it first cause the chorus is based on 'Connection'.

  • WHAT?! New York people dancing! Oh My God!

  • haha nice

  • id kick their ass at dancing

  • The riff reminds me of Hurricane Fighter Plane by the Red Crayola. Cool song.

  • I WISH I WAS THERE.

  • so great.

  • I just saw these guys at a free in-store at Permanent Records in Chicago and they played this rock gem. Scummy jagged guitar, bonehead drumming, a hook you could catch a shark with, AND a Can lyric bite. Lemme check my shorts...

    Jesus.

  • oh fuck

    great great great

  • Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuper cool band.

    And I've heard a LOT.

My only criticism is that you need to be more creative with the vocals, meaning both are just 'dubbing' each other. Do like Throwing Muses use to do.

    Wish you the best.

  • fuck yes

  • holly yamana!

  • "Block of Ice" is on THEE OH SEES album called:

The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In

which is coming out in April

  • I was changeing music for one of my vids...and I cam across a couple of songs of theirs...I like it...and I dont know why...lol.

  • This is a cover of Block of Ice by The Intelligence, off of the new(ish) album Deuteronomy.

  • AFAIK Deuteronomy are covering The Ohsees.

  • just looked it up, my mistake

  • I meant to say The Intelligence..

  • hahaha nice... THEE OHSEES ARE PLAYING AT MY BIRTHDAY PARTY!!!! YAY!

  • @liam117 this is definatley an Oh Sees song... the last line was originally written by Malcom Mooney.

  • what album is this on!? This sounds nothing like the OCS album i have, but i love it, incredible... like a more 60/70's coachwhips! Awesome!

  • The CD with this song on it doesnt come out until April 8th!

  • Rippin'!
