@bblover45 Well I don't know if you've seen it but I have a video of Jesse and Becky ("Jesse & Rebecca - Still Here") where in the beginning there is a brief recap of how they met and how they started to go out. I think there could've been more development but that's just my opinion. They've only had a couple of episodes together before they started dating. So yes, there was a friendship before that, but all of it was rather quick.
