Spam Alchemy and you shouldn't have particular issue with this guy. However, if you are looking for a challenge, spear him to death...and let me know how that works out for you :D

No. If you don't heal DOG then EXPLOSION will quickly make mince meat of HERO. It's damage is split between targets as you may have noticed in the video. DOG has one use and it is to reduce the damage from that spell and also to act as a meat shield to reduce the amount of times HERO is hit out of attack animation by an alchemy spell. This fight is VERY hard if you don't cast alchemy on that Verminator.

Also, judging by your HP your level is extremely high for this point in the game.

I leveled up outside Ivor Tower till I got to about Lv. 29, and leveled up the Lance spell to 5-6. I used Lance about 6 times and killed him.

I understand not wanting to let your dog die, but you really don't need to split the heal spells up with him. I'd probably still heal him too though, just too sentimental.

I must disagree, this boss is not as difficult as say Mungola if you have a strong alchemy skill and a large amount of healing spells and items. otherwise, ya, spear only he can be a total biatch. nice video

why use the spear if uses alchemy? loading it while he's throwing one spell after another at you? that's kinda...not smart :D

raise crush to level 6 and pound him with that all the way. if you don't give him a break, he's done in like 1 minute...

you get it by going upstairs in this guy's house in gothica and NOT open the treasure chests in his house. if you do you cannot get the formula.

My tip would be: Take about 20 minutes to level up your "Crush" alchemy after you first get to Crustatia. (There's a great spot to do it on the screen before you head north to the desert.) If you take it up to level 5 or 6 Verminator can easily be beaten in under 30 seconds and without even having to heal yourself. I wish I had known about this when I first played it for the first time in the 90's because Verminator used to beat my butt repeatedly. ;-)

man, crush is the best alchemy in the game, i got it up to 7 or 8 when i first got it before i left that area you got it in, great way to beat any boss if it's that high of a level.

i used to find this boss hard, but if you keep raping him down with acid rain then he doesnt really get a chance to attack and you get lots of time to power up ur spears... laser lance lvl3 = pwn!

You don't get laser lance until way after the rat. You would have to cheat to get the laser lance to fight the Rat.

I'm aware, but I produced this series with entertainment in mind, not efficiency by breaking the game. I also wanted to do a run with minimal use of offensive alchemy.

you said that the dog is useless in this battle becuz he cant hit far enough to hit the boss...

so why exactly are you healing him? wenever you use heal or sumthin that u can cast on multiple ppl, it gives you less health bcuz you hav to split the # of how much it heals w/ u and your dog. heal just yourself and u get about twice as much

Because if you let the dog die, you will be the only target left for Verminator's alchemy. Also, the dog won't benefit from the experience points won after the fight if it's dead.

i think that this is one of the hardest bosses in the game, mostly because hes so cheap, he'll cast acid rain three times in a row and gives me no chance to heal

This boss is realy not the hardest. I killed him with my Spear lvl 3 and some spells. My character only has lvl 25.

I think the main thing is, to heal yourself by time cause some of verminators spells hitting you very bad. At the end of the Game my characters usually aren´t higher then on lvl 40 but I also had one who only was on lvl 33 and on my best savegame I pushed him until lvl 47...

this boss was kinda easy for me, all i had to do was get my golden spear to lvl 3, and i was only around lvl 24, casted a lot of crush spells on him, threw my spear at him, basically all i did

remembered one other fun fact about this boss. There's a LANCE power-up spell that can get either in IVOR TOWER or EBON KEEP. When casted it automatically powers your lance to level 2 or 3 and u can throw immediately. It inflicts damage quicker on this boss

Honestly, I didn't even know 'aura' worked like the 'barrier' spell at the end of the game. I usually used offensive magic with the call beads...

The Red Dragon on Gomi's tower is also a pain in the ass

Salabog at least took forever because I was too lazy to farm for a weak alchemy and wearing down his absurd hp.

I agree that this boss was probably the toughest; it was the way he chained his attacks which always got me (although I found that sometimes if you pre-empted his attacks with healing, it nullified the damage).

Anyway, I defeated him much the same as you RaikouRider, although atrea's video Response above is mighty impressive.

KaiRage, if you're still wondering how to charge, hold down the B button from when the meter is at zero percent. It will go past 100 and go into the bar you see on the video.

the only thing that made this fight hard was my Secret of Evermore game would sometimes freeze after the fight was over. i guess its because i got it used...

actually the hardest part is when you go through the backdoor of that room before you fight the rat, land on top of the boxes where the rat is, and then get stuck because it's a glitch. :/

Easiest way to win this fight, use your call bead spell that puts the barrier around you, that makes you immune to damage. Use it again when it runs out.

Salabog isn't hard, it just takes a long time to kill him. This guy is hard because if he spams Acid Rain then Explosion, single targeted on the boy, there's pretty much nothing you can do to stop your demise.

Salabog is very time consuming but I still found it hard.. It probably just varies person to person... or you are far more better at that boss then me which is likely.

All people say that this is the most difficult boss, but I don't know, I killed him easily using the cure when he attacked so he wasn't able to damage me. The secret is massive cure and patience.

i think you should use more alchemy in this fight. attack with your charged spear and launch a fireball or two, then recharge. verminator deals much damage over long time so you should take him out quicker.

I always got up to 99 heals by this battle, than everytime the rat would throw his lil dust in the air i would use it and it would make his attack not hurt me. Once i beat him on level like.. 19 lol.
